Objectives: Guibi-tang is one of the most common herbs in oriental medicine. Principally, this medicine heals illness from overstress. Therefore, it is frequently used in the ancient community. Because of insufficiency in data, objective judgements are difficult in remedial effects by Guibi-tang. In order to make objectivity diagnose data, this research is developed. The aim of the research is to make questionnaire for the medicine and the objective is to sell to the public from the local clinic.
Methods: We searched 5 oriental medical Literature for the contents referring Guibi-tang syndrome. As a result, 26 items were extracted and each item was transformed to the questionnaire-format. We performed Delphi method by consulting 52 practitioners with specialty in oriental medical etiology. As a result 22 items were adopted through Delphi method. we excluded the 6 items through Reliability Analysis. The 16 items which satisfied internal consistency were subjected to factor analysis to examine construct validity. As a result, 3 factors were extracted. We performed Confirmatory Factor Analysis.
Results and Conclusions:
1. The internal consistency of 16 items was 0.910 of Cronbach's α value. This result means the reliability of Guibi-tang Questionnaire is statistically significant.
2. As a result of Exploratory Factor Analysis, 3 factors were extracted and the total percentage of variance was 53.09. Factor 1(hypochondria syndrome) was made up 4 items. Factor 2(deficiency syndrome) was made up 2 items. Factor 3(fire syndrome) was made up 3 items.
3. Confirmatory Factor Analysis was performed to verify the model fit of Exploratory Factor Analysis. the result was statistically significant. (χ2=46.419, p=.004, NFI=.922, NNFI=.940, RMSEA=.069, GFI=.952)
