The purpose of this study is to propose the effective directions of QCCs (Quality Control Circles). The QCCs activities started in Japan during the 1960s.
Although the QCCs activities in our country have so far made tremendous contributions to our domestic industry, many problems have also been found during the course of application to our industry. The QCCs are not a panacea for quality improvement but given the right top management commitment, organization and resourcing they can support continuous quality improvement at shop-floor level.
In the study, we have paid much attention to propose the guidances of the problems found during the initial stages and the appreciation of the achievements of QCCs activities until now. We surveyed the previous proceedings of the company-wide, local and domestic contests of QCCs activities, present some of them as evidences of our arguments, and try to establish principles of activation of that. We also suggest principles residing in the activities and propose the right direction of our QCCs movement.
From the results of our analysis, we recognized that there are gabs between some subjective appraisers and rudimentary team members These should then be elaborated and grounded in the detailed and accessible directions.
