The unification of south and North Koreas is one the most important problems which Korean people are facing. As everybody knows, the future of the unification will be largely dependent upon the characteristics of the political regimes of South and North Koreas. In such context, I am going to perform an intensive study on the present condition of the North korea's political regime and it's evaluation.
In studying the present condition of the North Korea's political regime, I approached this problem by analysing the internal and mutual korea, namely, North Korea's Parliament. North Korea's Central Government, and North Korea's Labour Party. In this study, I evaluated the present condition of North korea's political regime on the basis of the democratic power structure. I collected the data for my study from books, articles and documents relating directly to my problem.
Through this study, I found that all of the most important power is insititutionally given to Kim Il-sung and his son Kim -Jung-il. We can describe the existing power structure of North Korea as one man ruling power structure. This power structure is essentially different from the democratic power structure which Korean people have been regarding as the most idealistic form of power structure of the united Korea.
