환황해권 항만물류중심화 구축을 위한 평택항 경쟁력 분석 = Competitive Analysis of Port of Pyeongtaek to be a Hub Port in the Bohai Rim Region

국문 초록 (Abstract)

오늘날의 세계경제환경은 그 어느 때보다 더욱 경쟁적으로 변화하고 있다.
제조업의 국제분업화와 신흥시장의 등장에 따른 항만기능의 변화와 물류 산업의 항만집중화가 중국을 중심으로 한 동북아 지역의 집중은 빠르게 진행되고 있다.
최근 중국경제는 2001년 WTO 가입이후, 매년 눈부신 경제성장을 지속하여 왔다. 또한 중국 항만을 중심으로 한 동북아 대형 항만들의 대규모 확장은 환황해권 항만들의 급속한 성장 및 항만간 경쟁심화로 이어지고 있다
평택항은 인접한 인천항과의 경쟁과 중국의 기회 및 위협에서 향후 중심항의 기능을 갖기 위해서는 특별한 경쟁우위(Competition Advantage) 요인을 확보해야 할 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 항만산업의 환경변화에 따라 변화되고 있는 항만의 경쟁우위 요인을 파악하여 평택항의 환황해권에서 생존우위를 확보하기 위한 전략을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
평택항 경쟁력 분석은 AHP를 이용하여 요인간의 중요도를 도출하고, 계량적 SWOT 분석을 이용하여 평택항의 경쟁적 지위를 파악하였다.
그 결과 평택항의 경우 일부 경쟁적 강점은 보유하고 있으나, 기회보다는 위협이 많은 4사분면에 위치하는 것으로 분석되었다. 특히 시설확충과 더불어 자유무역 활성화, 지속적 홍보를 통한 대외 인지도 강화, 항만간 네트워크 구축 확대 등을 추진하여야 할 것이다. 또한 평택항의 미래지향적인 발전을 위해서는 항만과 배후단지의 일체화, 항만협의체 구성, 국제물류네트워크 구축을 위한 전략적 제휴, 통합마케팅 및 비즈니스 모델 구축이 필요하다

Today's global economic environment is becoming more competitive than ever.
Horizon and vertical specialization of manufacturing sector and advent of emerging market caused the changes of port function and the centralized of port logistics market around China.
Of late, China economy has quickly increased after joint with WTO in 2001.
Specially, severe competitions between ports located in the Bohai Rim Region have led the large scale of expansions of port facilities. In the middle of the competition, Port of Pyeongtaek is located as a new face of the market; therefore, Port of Pyeongtaek has to make a desperate effort to get competitive advantage factors.
So, this paper aims to derive several strategies to survive in the Bohai Rim Region as a new port through analyzing the changes of the port business circumstances in the region.
This paper has conducted Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in order to figure out the competitive factors of port business and SWOT analysis to positioning the competitiveness of Port of Pyeongtaek in the region.
As the results of the analysis, Port of Pyeongtaek has more threats than opportunities even though it has some of strengths. Especially, Port of Pyeongtaek need more facility expansion, revitalization of free trade, strengthen of name value through continuous promotion activities, and construction of global network between ports
