국문 초록 (Abstract)

모험스포츠 참가자의 친환경적 행동에 관한 연구

본 연구는 모험스포츠 참가자의 친환경적 행동을 이해하기 위해 참가자들이 경험한 내용을 바탕으로 자연을 배경으로 펼쳐지는 야외에서의 친환경의 의미와 가치, 태도 그리고 친환경적 행동을 위한 노력과 변화의 모습 또한 그 과정 안에서의 발생되는 몇몇 문제점을 기술하고, 궁극적으로 친환경으로의 모험스포츠 장을 제시하고자 질적 연구 방법을 적용하였다.
연구대상은 모험스포츠 참가자로서 스킨스쿠버, 패러글라이딩 종목의 참가자 10명을 선정하여 심층면담과 비참여관찰을 실시하고, 이를 통해 수집된 자료는 전사, 단위화, 부호화, 주제화의 과정으로 분석하였다.
분석결과, 모험스포츠 참가자들이 인식하는 친환경의 의미는 각종 공해와 오염으로의 자연파괴의 현 시점에서 스포츠 현장 역시도 예외가 아님을 인식하고, 이의 해결을 위해 자연을 아끼고 보호, 더 나아가 보전하려는 노력의 일환이 친환경이라 설명하고 있다. 또한 친환경으로의 가치와 태도를 살펴본 결과, 자연이 무엇보다 우선시 되어져야 하는 자연 중심의 자연관을 강조하면서, 이를 위한 보호와 보존으로의 태도가 형성되는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 친환경적 행동을 위해 모험스포츠 참가자들은 여러 행동과 노력을 하게 되며, 이는 한층 성숙된 문화시민으로 변화의 모습까지도 경험하게 된다. 그러나 이들 과정 속에서는 몇몇 장애의 부정적 요소들이 나타나게 되는데, 이러한 부정적 부분들을 바람직하게 해결해 나가는 것이 친환경으로의 모험스포츠를 이끌어 나가는 것이 될 것이며, 이를 위한 끊임없는 노력과 연구가 계속 되어져야 할 것이다.

A Study on Environmentally Friendly Behavior of Participants in Adventure Sports

This study is to discuss definition and value of ‘environmentally friendly’ outdoors in nature, attitudes, efforts for environmentally friendly behavior and changes, and problems in the process, on the basis of experiences of participants in adventure sports, in order to understand environmentally friendly behaviors of participants in adventure sports, and ultimately, qualitative research method was employed to set a stage for environmentally friendly adventure sports.
The population of this study consisted of 10 participants in adventure sports such as scuba diving and paragliding, for which in-depth interviews and non-preparatory observation were conducted, and collected through these processes were analyzed by transcription, unitization, encoding, and topicalization.
As a result, in relation with recognition of ‘environmentally friendly,’ participants in adventure sports defined ‘environmentally friendly’ as making efforts in an attempt to protect and preserve the nature, agreeing the idea that sports cannot be excluded from the duties of preservation of the nature, which has been seriously deteriorated by various sources of contamination and pollution. In addition, as for environmentally friendly values and attitudes, they showed nature-centered viewpoint of the nature, which resulted in the attitude of protection and preservation of the nature. Finally, participants in adventure sports were found to show a variety of environmentally friendly behaviors and efforts, and in the process they had a matured and better civilized citizenship. However, there were some negative elements that interfered with environmentally friendly behavior. To help adventure sports become true environmentally friendly events, efforts to eliminate those negative aspects should be done, together with continuous efforts and research on that purpose.
