대중음악으로 편곡된 곡을 통한 효과적인 클래식 음악 감상법 : 고등학교 2학년 음악교과를 중심으로 = (An) effective way of appreciating classical music through its arranged version into pop style : focused on a music class of 2nd graders in high school

It is generally agreed that modern society is overflowing with information and knowledge which changes rapidly day by day and this age can be called the era of culture. Music lies at the center of modern culture and culturally enriches the students'''' lives. However, music class have decreased drastically because of the university entrance exam-oriented curriculum. As a result, this subject has become considered as less important by students, since students assume that it is largely irrelevant to their more urgent issue of the university entrance exam. In this problematic situation for music education, there is a need to search the new materials and teaching methods.Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to demonstrate a new approach for teaching music in an interesting and easy way. By selecting the most fundamental classical music for students and researching popularized version of it can be revitalized the stagnant music class of today.This study tries to show the validity of popular music being advantageous to the music class. When it comes to theoretical background, this study makes an analysis of the results of a survey whose aim is to find out what students think about the popular music. It then analyses the characteristics of classical music and popular music and deals with the correlation of these two kinds of music.In the next part, this study researches the origin of popular music, its development and role, and its influence on adolescents. It includes the criteria for choosing the proper pop music for students and its educational application.The last section of this thesis explores the most important classical music for students appreciation, ranging from baroque music to romanticism music and illustrates the popularized versions of them. Additionally, this study introduces teaching procedures based on the rearrangement of classical music in pop style. It is followed by the evaluation of the class and the effectiveness of the teaching procedure can be found through the analysis of the class.To keep up with this swift age, schools should exert restless efforts on cultivating on new teaching methods to facilitate music education in the present. It is suggested that music education should be the spark which revitalizes students''''s well roundness and culturally enriches the lives of students as future leader of our society.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대 사회는 정보와 지식이 하루가 다르게 변화하는 시대이며, 또한 문화의 시대라고도 할 수 있다. 그 문화의 중심에 음악이 있으며, 음악은 학생들에게 풍요로운 삶의 원천이 되어준다. 그러나 입시위주의 교과목 운영으로 인해 음악수업의 시수가 급격히 축소되고, 음악교과는 비입시교과로 취급되어 학생들에게 별로 중요하지 않은 예체능 교과로 인식되어지고 있다. 이러한 현실의 문제로 인해서 음악교육은 새로운 내용과 교육방법이 요구되어지고 있다.따라서 본 연구에서는 침체된 음악 수업의 활성화를 위한 방법의 하나로, 학생들이 기본적으로 알아야 할 고전음악을 선정하고, 이것이 대중음악으로 편곡된 사례를 찾아서 학생들에게 좀 더 쉽고 재미있게 다가갈 수 있는 방법을 연구하고자 한다.대중음악이 수업에 활용가능한가의 타당성을 밝히기 위해 우선, 이론적 배경에서는 대중음악에 대한 학생들의 생각에 대해 설문조사를 하고 결과를 분석하였고, 고전음악과 대중음악에 대해 살펴본 후에 두 음악의 상관관계에 대해 알아보았다.다음으로는 클래식 음악의 접근을 위해서 본격적으로 대중음악을 이해하기 위하여, 대중음악의 발생과 변천, 역할, 청소년에게 미치는 영향, 대중음악의 선정기준과 교육적 활용에 대해 살펴보았다.마지막으로는 클래식 음악을 본격적으로 감상하기 위해서 바로크부터 낭만까지 학생들이 기본적으로 알아야 할 클래식 음악을 선정하고, 그 곡들이 대중음악으로 편곡된 사례를 찾아 수업한 것을 교수학습 과정안으로 작성하였다. 그리고 실제 수업에 적용하고, 수업 후 평가를 통해 얼마만큼의 효과가 있었는지를 분석하였다.하루가 다르게 변화하는 시대의 흐름에 발맞추어 교육에도 끊임없는 노력과 개선이 필요하다. 학교 현장에서는 음악교육의 활성화를 위한 부단한 교수학습 개선과 노력이 필요하며, 미래 사회의 주역인 학생들이 올바른 품성과 풍요로운 삶을 누릴 수 있도록 음악교육이 그 중심을 잡아주어야 할 것이다.
