생물학적 통제의 시대 인간복제(human cloning)에 대한 윤리적 논의 : 불교와 기독교 시각을 중심으로 = Ethical Discussions about Human Cloning in the Age of Biological Control : With an emphasis on Buddhist and Christian Perspectives

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aim of this paper is to examine the ethical discussions regarding human cloning in the perspective of ethics presented in Buddhism and Christianity. Since the birth of Dolly the cloned sheep in 1996, ethical issues have been inevitably intertwined in the field of cloning. For some, cloning has become an ideology or a religious ideal. Buddhism accepts cloning as a method of generating new hope. However, Christianity claims that ‘life is a creation, not a commodity.’ This contrast can be observed in bioethical reasoning. In this paper, I argue that we need to promote a concept of love or great compassion that is calling us to responsibility.
