뇌 기반 교육과 뇌교육의 이론적 기초와 관련성 고찰 = Review of theoretical base and relationship between "brain-based education" and "Brain Education"

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문의 목적은 뇌 기반 교육과 뇌교육의 이론적 기초를 탐색해보고, 이를 접목하여 교육현장에서 활용할 수 있는 방안을 모색해 보는 것이다. 이를 위하여 뇌 기반 교육과 뇌교육의 원리와 교육방법을 고찰하여 두 접근 방식 간의 차이점과 공통점을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 두 이론은 뇌의 기능과 작용을 최대한 발휘하게 함으로써 효율적이고 효과적인 학습이나 교육이 이루어질 수 있게 하는 동시에 교육적 효과를 통해 삶의 질을 향상시키려고 하는 궁극적인 교육 목표에서는 동일하였다. 그러나 뇌 기반 교육은 신경과학의 연구결과를 교육에 접목하려는 노력으로서 주로 뇌에 맞는 교육환경과 학습 환경을 조성해주는데 초점을 맞추는 반면, 뇌교육은 뇌발달에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 직접적인 요인이나 활동을 연구한다는 차이점을 보였다. 이러한 결과는 뇌 기반 교육과 뇌교육의 학제 간 융합을 통하여 새로운 교육방법이 마련될 필요성이 있음을 시사한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this article is to explore the theoretical base of brain-based education which tries to connect research results of neuroscience and learning and Brain Education which examines the primary factors or activities influencing on brain utilization and brain development. Also, this article tries to combine these two approaches to devise new method for educational field. For this purpose, principles, educational methods and research trends of brain-based education and Brain Education were reviewed. And in the aspect of interaction of cognition and behavior, emotion and learning, and emotion and behavior, we analyzed the similarity and differences of principles and methods of those two approaches. In conclusion, if new theoretical base combining brain-based education and Brain Education be devised, it can be useful in educational field for students to promote whole personality and quality of life through integrate the cognition, emotion and body and soul harmoniously.
