This study investigates the factors of performance happiness of Korean dancers based on their experience using in-depth interviews, which is a qualitative research method, and this study also has the purpose of conceptualizing performance happiness. The participants of this study are current Korean dancers and the study includes 5 people (5 male, 2 female) with over 25 years of experience and we have reached the following conclusions based on the in-depth interviews. First, there are 177 sources of factors of performance happiness based on the Korean dancers’ experiences. It was shown by three dimensions, physical, psychological, and social, and it includes expressiveness (physical techniques, self management), awareness (motive, performance), emotionality (enjoyment), and relationships (personal relationship, environmental relationship). Second, psychological dimension had the highest frequency in performance happiness and it was in the order of psychological, social, and physical dimension. Third, the definition of performance happiness as determined by this study, is a combination of positive emotions that are generated by various different stimuli during the general setting of the performance. Thus, it is the pleasure enjoyed by the perceptive happiness from the performance. Fourth, it was found that performance happiness forms a process of physical, and social cycles.
