This study was attempted to identify the effects of Badminton as a leisure activity and a continuative exercise on the mental stress according to their background such as sex, age, and exercise experience.
The methods employed in this study are the questionnaires developed by the researcher consisted of 34 items. For the study, 161 male amateurs and 82 females(total 243 amateurs) are randomly sampled.
The followings are major findings of this study.
1. The total stress level according to the sex had significant difference(F=6.217, P=.013), but as a result of the post verification, there was no difference between the two and by compared detail factors of stress, it was identified that no statistic difference existed.
2. The total stress level as a leisure activity and a continuative badminton according to the age was higher in the oldest group than the youngest group. In the middle age groups(30 ages and 40 ages), the total level of stress was the lowest. But in the post verification, significant difference(F=2.720, P=.045) was found between the 30-39 year age group and the over 50 year.
3. The total stress level as a leisure activity and a continuative badminton according to the exercise career had significant difference(F=.980, P=.403). But by compared factors of stress: psycho-environmental factor, psycho-environmental factor, psycho-environmental factor, physical psychic wellness, there was no significant difference among them.
