일두(一蠹) 정여창(鄭汝昌)의 학문세계 = The Academic World of Cheong Yeo-chang(鄭汝昌), Ildu(一蠹)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 조선조 도학 연원의 한 사람으로 평가받고 있는 일두 정여창의 학문세계에 대한 개략적인 서술이다. 자료의 미비와 필자의 역량이 부족한탓에 관견(管見)에 그칠 수 밖에 없음을 인정하지 않을 수 없다. 그럼에도 불구하고 [일두집]을 중심으로 살펴본 그의 도학자적 풍모와 기상은 조선시대는 물론 오늘날까지도 존숭받기에 합당한 것으로 여겨진다.
일두의 학문은 두 스승 율정 이관의와 점필재 김종직으로부터 비롯되었다. 두 스승의 장점을 계승한 일두의 학문은 도덕적 심성 수양에 그친 것이 아니라 천문과 지리 등 실용학문에 바탕한 체용일원적 구성이라는 점은 주목할 만하다. 일반적으로 조선시대 도학자들이 관심을 가지지 않았던 학문영역에 대한 관심을 통하여 현실적 문제를 타개하려고 하였던 것으로 보인다. 또한 한훤당(寒暄堂)과의 교유를 통하여 실천궁행(實踐躬行)의 가치를 고양한 것으로 여겨지며 이는 [소학]을 배워 실천하는 학문적 경향으로 나타났다. 그리고 일두는 [소학] 이외에도 [논어]를 중시하고 좋아하여 항상 쉬지 않고 읽었다고 한다. 이는 그의 뛰어난 효심과 선정(善政)으로 현실에 구현된 것으로 생각한다.
그러나 사화(士禍)나 전란(戰亂)등으로 인하여 그의 학문적 저술이 세상에서 사라진 듯 하여 아쉬운 면이 없지 않다. 경전에 대한 주석이나 성리설에 대한 견해가 분명히 있었을 것으로 판단하나 오늘날에는 찾을 수 없고, 있다하더라도 학문적 논란에서 벗어나지 못한 안타까움도 있다. 일두의 학 문세계의 전반적인 분석은 현재로써는 매우 어려운 일임을 인정하지 않을수 없다.

This article is a rough description of the academic world of Cheong Yeo-chang, (1450-1504)one of the Dao-xue(道學) scholars of the Joseon Dynasty. His discipline came from the two teachers, Lee Gwan-eui and Kim
Jong-jik(1431-1492). His discipline, which inherited the merits of the two teachers, was not merely a moral stimulation. It is noteworthy that it is a unitary structure based on practical studies such as astronomy and
geography. He seems to have attempted to overcome the real problem through his interest in the academic field, which was not of interest to the scholars of the Joseon Dynasty. In general, he seems to have attempted to

Goeng-pil(1454-1504). This appeared to be an academic tendency to practice and learn The Elementary learning(小學). And he emphasizes the Analects of Confucius(論語) and likes to read it all the time. I think this is realized
in reality by his excellent politics and filial piety. However, his academic writings seem to have disappeared from the world because of the fighting between the scholars and the war.I believe there must have been a
commentary on Confucian scriptures or views on Confucianism, but I can not find them today. I can not help but confess that the comprehensive analysis of Jeong’s study is very difficult at present.
