The goal of this study is to survey the controversy about Marx's viwew of morality by Anglo-American analytic philosophers. The major area of research on Marx by analytic philosophers has focused on the question of whether moral concepts play a significant role in Marx's criticism of capitalism.
The nature of Marx's views on morality has long been a matter of considerable dispute. Some thinkers say that marx's writings are devoid of moral content. This is asserted on the basis that Aarxism is completely scientific and thus has no room whatever for morality or normative views.
Others say that although Marx does not have a fully developed philosophical theory about morality, he does have a normative moral perspecctive. This moral perspective based on freedom, self-realization, human dignity, human autonomy, humanism and hyman community.
There is another debates of whether or not Marx's views are compatible with theories of social justice. Did Marx think that capitalism, more particular the wage relation between capitalist and worker, was just? Among the important debates on this question are included the followings :1)MKarx thought the relation between capitalist and worker was just 2)he thought it was unjust.
