Korean traditional music is our precious art thats has been with Korean people's. feelings along with national bitter trials. No matter what happen, we have to succeed it to develop.
Through the 7th revision of the education course this time, Korean Educational Depart sought to emphasize the importance of Korean traditional music. Therefore, they added up and intensify the traditional music in the 9 textbooks used currently in the music class of the middle school and was published by 9 companies.
Of them, the folk song, which students can follow it easily, is included the points of view, life style and emotion of populace.
These songs were originally accompanied of the Jang-Ko which is Korean traditional drum with two sides. But it is not easy for the students to learn the songs only with Jang-Ko, the percussional instrument. So it needs to sing with the accompaniment of the piano.
So that's why the purpose of this dissertation is to propose the effective way for teaching and learning of Korean folk songs in the music class between teacher and students. For this, I analysed the singing parts of the Korean folk songs and the piano accompaniment for them in the 9 textbooks for the students and the instruction book for the teachers of the middle school.
At first, I classified those songs by beat, rhythm and the district in those books and investigated whether those books had the accompany of piano for the songs or not. And I selected the Korean folk songs that were presented with frequently in all textbooks and instruction book to compare the parts for the accompany of piano and Korean traditional rhythm as well.
As the result, I found that most songs don't have the proper accompany of piano with the traditional rhythm. So I compensated the parts for the melody and rhythm to intensify the way for the actual teaching and learning each other for Korean traditional folk song.
Conclusionally, this dissertation propose the accompany of piano suitable, effective, emotional, proper and rhythmical which make up for the lack of feelings for the Korean traditional beat for the active teachers or would-be teachers. If so, we can make improve the interest of the traditional folk songs of the students.
Still , we need more systematic and effective research for the teaching.
