특수체육 지도자를 위한 양성 과정과 진로 = Education and Employment Status for Adapted Physical Educators

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was aimed to investigate the curriculum for training adapted physical activity professionals and the post undergraduate employment status. The educational contents were collected from the university websites of adapted/special physical education (APE/SPE) department. The information about attaining certification to become an adapted physical activities professional was found in related criteria of legislation. The current employment status was analyzed using internal data of the department of adapted/special physical education. Eight departments of APE/SPE focus on training students as special education teachers, while the other three departments provide general knowledge for being a professional in adapted physical activity. Departments of APE/SPE provide the opportunity to attain national and private certification as adapted physical educators. Secondary special education teachers and sport instructor for the disabled are counted as national certification. Psychomotor therapist, referee license, and lifeguard are examples of private certifications. The departments of APE/SPE focused on education produce about 200 students annually. These students had the following careers: adapted educator (23.9%), occupations related to adapted physical activities (18.7%) such as working for Korea Paralympic Committee (KPC)/ healthy and welfare center, or an instructor of adapted physical activities/sports or, and the others were employed at the other field (17.3%). The rest of students (40.1%) were unemployed. On the other hand, the department of APE/SPE, which are not focused on producing educator, yield about 63 students annually. The students were employed in a field related to physical activities (53.3%), KPC or adapted physical activities (psychomotoricity) (31.2%) and the other field (22.5%). The rest of 22.5% students are unemployed. It is hard to expect the founding of more department related to adapted physical activities due to the decreased number of students. However, the future of careers related to adapted physical activities are bright because the government increase the support in promoting lifetime physical activities and the welfare policy for in people with disability.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 대학에서의 특수체육지도자 양성을 위한 교육 내용과 졸업 후의 취업 현황을 살펴보는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구를 위한 특수체육 전공 학과 관련 내용은 인터넷을 통해 수집하였고, 자격 취득에 관한 내용은 법률 기준을 살펴보았으며, 진로 현황은 특수체육 전공 학과의 내부 자료를 활용하여 분석하였다. 현재 특수체육 전공 학과는 사범계 8개와 비사범계 3개 학과가 있다. 사범계 특수체육교육과는 국가자격인 특수교육(중등 체육)교원과 장애인스포츠지도사 자격을 취득할 수 있으며, 그리고 민간자격인 심리운동사, 장애인스포츠 심판, 수상인명구조원 등의 자격을 취득할 수 있다. 비사범계 특수체육 전공 학과는 교원자격 이수 이외에는 차이가 없었다. 사범계 특수체육 전공 학과는 매년 200명씩 특수교육(체육) 교원 자격자를 양성하고 있는데, 이들의 진로는 특수학교(급) 교사 23.9%, 체육 관련 분야(장애인체육회/장애아동 체육지도/스포츠지도/복지관) 18.7%, 기타 17.3%, 미취업 40.1% 등이다. 비사범계 특수체육 전공 학과는 매년 평균 63명씩 졸업하고 있으며, 이들의 진로는 장애인체육회 및 특수체육(심리운동 지도) 분야는 31.2%이지만, 체육 분야 전체로는 53.3%, 기타 22.5%, 미취업 22.5%를 나타내었다. 향후 학령인구 감소로 더 이상의 특수체육 관련 학과의 설립을 기대하기 어려울 것이지만 특수체육지도자의 진로는 정부의 장애인 생활체육 활성화 및 장애인 복지 정책의 확대 추진으로 보다 밝다고 예견할 수 있다.
