The results were as follows. First, In both male and female students showed a negative correlation with university life adjustment and covert narcissism. Both male and female students showed a positive correlation with university life adjustment and adaptive cognitive emotional control strategies and it showed an negative correlation with maladaptive emotion control strategies. Third, the more they use adaptive emotion control strategies, the more they adapt to university life, and the more they use maladaptive emotion control strategies, the less they adapt to university life. Among cognitive emotion control strategies, male students were influenced by plan reconsideration, acceptance, catastrophe, self-criticism, and rumination. And the female students were influenced by the plan reconsideration, positive reevaluation, and catastrophe. As a result of analyzing the adjustment effect of gender in the relationship between cognitive emotion control strategies and university life adjustment, confirmed the adjustment effect of gender in the relationship between cognitive emotional control strategies and university life adjustment.
Through this study, it is meaningful to reveal the relationship between university life adjustment, cognitive emotional regulation strategies, and covert narcissism. and adaptive cognitive control strategies that are adaptable to university life are important factors.
Finally, the limitations of this study is suggested.
