상업계 고등학교 학생들의 진로의식과 진로지도에 관한 연구 = (A) study on career guidance of commercial high school students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine the realities of the vocational education and students' career consciousness in commercial high schools and to suggest the efficient career plan of the students on the suitable of their capabilities and aptitudes in the direction of the reasonable vocational education in line with the current trend.
In this study, after having considered theoretical backgrounds of both vocational educations and commercial high schools' educations I conducted a sample survey of the students from the commercial high schools located in Seoul. The survey consists of issues such as the career consciousness and the actual conditions of vocational educations.
Among total 364 copies of question paper, 350 copies were collected. From them, 324 copies were analyzed statistically except for both insincere answers and no answers.
At first, this study found the career consciousness and the actual conditions of vocational education by frequency analysis. Next, a hypothesis was verified whether cognition of the entrance motivation, the career consciousness and the vocational education varied with sex and grade through a cross tabulation analysis, T-test and ANOVA .
The results of the survey are summed up as follows.
First, many students choose the present schools because they think that their school can lead them to go to college more easily.
Second, students are agonizing about their courses and do not know well their aptitudes and characteristics.
Third, most of the students hope to go to a college. In the choice of a occupation and a major, they would chose them based on their aptitudes and interests, but they felt that there was insufficient information about vocational educations offered by schools.
Fourth, students prefer their teachers as a counselor. But a course counseling is hardly achieved therefore, students are dissatisfied with that.
Fifth, most of the students felt the poor social recognition about people from the commercial high schools. So they wanted to have better opportunities of being employed or entering into a college.
On the basis of the above findings, the efficient career guidance is recommended as follows.
First, the systematic and reasonable career guidance should be carried out starting from the elementary school years.
Second, in order to find suitable jobs sufficient information about vocational educations should be offered by their schools.
Third, the career guidance should be carried out for the students hoping to enter into a college.
Fourth, it is necessary that students have their suitable school educations.
Finally, course counseling should be activated by including course counseling in the whole a course of education.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 취업과 진학이라는 두 가지 교육현실에 당면하고 있는 상업계 고등학교 학생들의 진로의식과 진로교육의 실태를 알아보고 현 상황에 맞는 진로교육의 방향을 재정립하여 학생 개인의 능력과 적성에 맞는 체계적이고 효율적인 진로지도 방안을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 진로 교육과 상업계 고등학교 교육에 대한 이론적 배경을 고찰한 후, 서울 소재 상업계 고등학교에 재학중인 학생들을 대상으로 진로의식, 진로교육의 실태를 조사 분석하였다.
총 364부의 설문지가 배부되어 350부가 회수되었고, 그 중 불성실한 답변과 무 응답을 제외한 324부를 통계처리 자료로 사용하였다. 먼저 빈도 분석을 실시하여 전반적인 진로의식 및 진로교육의 실태를 파악해 보았고, 성별과 학년별에 따라 상업계 고등학생의 진학동기, 진로의식, 진로교육에 대한 인식에 차이가 있는지 가설을 설정하여 교차분석과 T검증, 분산분석(ANOVA)을 통해 검증하였다.
상업계 고등학교 학생들의 진로의식 및 진로교육의 실태에 대한 조사결과를 요약해 보면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 상업계 고등학교 학생들은 대학진학이 유리하기 때문에 상업계 고등학교를 선택한 경우가 많았으며 상업계 고등학교에 대한 사전지식이 적은 상태에서 본인 혼자의 결정에 의해 진학한 학생들이 많았다.
둘째, 학생들은 자신의 적성․특성․소질 등에 관해 잘 모르고 있으며 자신의 진로에 대해 상당히 고민하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 상업계 고등학교 학생들 대부분이 대학 진학을 희망하였고 직업과 학과 선택시 적성과 흥미를 고려하여 결정하겠다는 의견이 많았지만 학교에서 제공하는 취업정보, 진로정보에 대해 부족함을 많이 느끼고 있었다.
넷째, 학생들이 선호하는 진로 상담자는 학교선생님이었지만 학교에서의 진로상담은 거의 이루어지지 않고 있어 학생들이 진로상담에 대해 매우 불만을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다.
다섯째, 대다수의 학생들이 상업계 고등학교 졸업생은 인정받지 못한다고 인식하고 있으며 대학진학 지도의 강화와 진학기회의 확대를 원하고 있었다.
이상의 결과를 토대로 바람직한 진로지도 방안을 제시하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 초등단계에서부터 체계적이고 합리적인 진로지도가 이루어져야 한다. 초등․중학교에서부터 진로에 대한 올바른 인식과 충실한 정보의 제공을 통해 학생들의 진학이 이루어질 수 있도록 체계적인 진로교육을 실시하여 진학지도를 해야한다.
둘째, 올바른 진로 탐색을 위한 충분한 진로정보가 제공되어야 한다. 학교에서는 다양한 진로정보를 신속하게 입수하여 학생들에게 충분히 제공할 수 있도록 노력하여야 하며, 이를 위해 기존 상담실을 진로정보실로 확대하고 기능을 활성화하여 진로정보 수집과 제공에 적극적인 노력을 기울일수 있도록 해야한다.
셋째, 대학진학을 위한 진학지도가 이루어져야 한다. 상업계 고등학교 학생들 대다수가 대학진학을 희망하고 있으므로 상업계 고등학교에서도 취업지도에만 편중을 두어서는 안되며, 대학에 진학하고자 하는 학생들을 위한 진학반을 편성하여 자신의 능력에 맞게 대학진학에 필요한 교육을 받을 수 있는 방안이 마련되어야 한다.
넷째, 학생들의 요구에 적합한 취업교육이 이루어져야 한다. 학생들이 비싼 학원비를 부담하지 않고도 자격증을 취득할 수 있도록 특기적성교육을 활성화시켜 다양한 직업교육을 받을 수 있도록 해야한다.
다섯째, 교육과정에 진로지도 시간을 편성하며 상담이 적극적으로 이루어질 수 있도록 한다. 학교에서는 진로정보를 접하고 진로를 탐색할 수 있는 시간을 보유하여 교사와의 적절한 진로상담이 이루어지도록 해야하며, 전교사가 진로 상담자로 나설 수 있도록 체계적인 교원연수가 이루어져야 하겠다.
