발달장애인 직업생활 사례연구 : 마을공동체 기반 협동조합을 중심으로 = A Case Study on the Occupational Life of People with Developmental Disabilities; Focusing on village community-based cooperatives

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 안심마을 기반 협동조합에서 일하는 발달장애인의 직업생활 경험을 탐색하는 것이다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 질적 사례연구방법을 사용했다. 연구결과, 3가지 상위범주 ‘일하면서 느끼는 자부심’, ‘서로 도우며 함께 일함’, ‘마을에서 더불어 성장함’이 도출되었다.
연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구참여자는 일에 대한 자부심을 나타냈다. 조합원과 이웃들의 격려와 칭찬, 나아가 스스로에 대한 신뢰와 믿음으로 조합에서 자신의 필요성을 확인했고, 직원과 조합원으로서 소속감을 나타내며 자신의 존재감을 확인하고 자랑하는 모습을 보여주었다. 둘째, 연구참여자는 동료, 더 나아가 조합원들과 서로 도우며 함께 일하는 모습을 나타냈다. 협동하며 힘을 보탰고, 조합이 어려울 때는 자신만의 방식으로 조합의 어려움을 함께하는 모습을 보여주었다. 서로 도우며 일하는 과정에서 서투름, 어려움을 헤아리고 살펴주는 동료와 조합원들이 있었다. 셋째, 연구참여자와 동료, 이웃들은 함께 더불어 성장하는 모습을 나타냈다. 연구참여자는 마을에서 자라나 마을에서 일했고, 이웃과의 관계 속에서 발달장애인이나, 이곳에서 일하는 사람이 아닌 또 다른 누군가로 자신의 존재가 확장되는 모습을 보여주었다. 연구참여자는 조합과 오랜 시간을 함께하며 조합원과 이웃들에게 익숙하고 자연스러운 존재가 되어갔으며, 연구참여자의 이웃들은 서로가 서로에게 본보기가 되어 당사자 직원을 우리의 평범한 이웃으로 대하는 법을 일상에서 행동으로 배워나가는 모습을 보여주었다.
결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, ‘일하면서 느끼는 자부심’의 범주를 통해 마을 조합에서의 직업생활이 단순히 직장이나 일터에서의 반복되는 일상을 넘어서며, 자신의 존재를 긍정하게 만드는 활동임을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, ‘서로 도우며 함께 일함’의 범주를 통해 동료와 조합원의 협력으로 발달장애인 당사자 개인의 손상에 따른 어려움과 서투름이 상쇄될 수 있음을, 더 나아가 발달장애인 당사자 역시 조합의 어려움을 함께하고 힘을 보태는 조합의 주인이 될 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 셋째, ‘마을에서 더불어 성장함’의 범주를 통해 발달장애인 당사자가 전문가의 전적인 직업재활이나 훈련 없이도, 지역사회 내 통합된 환경인 마을 조합에서 주변 이웃들과 서로 상호의존하며 일하고, 이웃과 함께 성장할 수 있는 사회적, 복합적 존재임을 확인할 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is exploring the occupational life experiences of people with developmental disabilities working in an Ansim Village-based cooperative. A qualitative case study method was used to achieve the purpose of this study. As a result of the study, three high-level categories were derived: ‘pride you feel while working’, ‘cooperation by helping each other’, and ‘mutual growth’ in a village.
The research results are as follows. First, the research participants showed pride in their work. Through encouragements and praises from members and neighbors, as well as trust and belief in themselves, they confirmed their value in the union, and showed a sense of belonging as an employee and a member while they confirm their presence and showing pride. Second, The study participants’ dedication started as helping and working together with their colleagues but it expanded to union members at the end. They worked cooperatively and added strength, and when the union was in difficulty, They showed how to deal with the hardships in their own ways. In the process of helping each other, there were colleagues and union members who showed understanding and care in their clumsiness and difficulties. Third, research participants, colleagues, and neighbors grew together. The study participants grew up in a village and worked in the village, they showed that their existence was extended from someone with a developmental disability who was just working for the union to someone with their own unique identity. Research participants have been with the union for a long time and have become familiar and natural with the union members and their neighbors. Neighbors of the study participants set an example for one another and showed how to treat their employees as ordinary neighbors in their daily lives.
The conclusions are as follows. First, through the category of ‘pride you feel while working', it was confirmed that occupational life in the village cooperative is an activity that affirms their own existence, going beyond the simple daily routine at workplace. Second, through the category of ‘cooperation by helping each other', the cooperation of colleagues and members can offset the difficulties and clumsiness accompanied by the impairment of people with developmental disabilities. Furthermore, it was confirmed that they themselves have the potential of becoming a helpful and understanding owner of the union. Third, through the category of ‘mutual growth' in a village, it was confirmed that people with developmental disabilities are social and complex beings working interdependently with their neighbors through the space of the village union, an integrated environment within the local community, without any professional rehabilitation or training.
