★ Expected contribution : Glaucoma is a chronic progressive optic neuropathy, leading to progressive visual field loss and irreversible blindness. Currently, successful IOP lowering treatment is the only effective way to slow glaucoma progression. However, poor compliance with treatment is one of the main obstacles to remain constantly effective drug concentration. Therefore, developing a new glaucoma treatment system based on sustained drug-loaded nanomedicine implanted soft contact lens is expected to increase the level of treatment adherence, as well as to open a new era of glaucoma medical equipment market in Korea.
