근대이행기 경기만의 포구 네트워크와 지역화과정

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This Study takes a notice of the mediterranean characteristic of Gyeong-gi bay, and investigates the regionalization in this area centering around the distribution and development of ports, network of ports, and its changes from viewpoint of regional historical geography. To approach this aim, author adopts the concept 'netword' and 'regionalization', and considers port as a clue for its connective function. The research themes are as follows. Fist theme is to understand the distribution pattern of ports in Gyeong-gi bay in 18th century, second theme is to examinate the formation of port-network from 18th century to 19th century, third theme is to discuss integration process of port-network in the early 20th century.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 지역역사지리학의 입장에서 경기만의 소지중해적(小地中海的) 성격에 주목하고, 포구 발달과 포구간 네트워크의 변천을 중심으로 근대이행기 경기만 연안의 지역화과정을 구명하는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 이 연구는 네트워크(network)와 지역화과정(regionalization)이라는 개념을 도입한다. 그리고 경기만의 지역화과정을 구명한다고 했을 때 그 단초를 제공할 수 있는 지리적 요소는 경기만 연안 지역의 곳곳을 서로 연결해주었던 포구(浦口)일 것으로 보았다. 본 연구의 주요 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 18세기 경기만의 포구 분포 패턴을 복원하고 그 존재 양태를 이해한다. 둘째, 18-19세기 동안 국지적 스케일에서 진행된 포구 네트워크의 형성과정에 대해 검토한다. 셋째, 20세기 초 경기만 일대의 소규모 포구 네트워크의 통폐합 과정을 검토한다.
