턴도리 대죄(Tandori Dezső)의 탈 전통시(傳統詩) 시도 = Attempts at Detraditionalized Poetry by Dezső Tandori -With Special Reference to His Neo-Avantgarde and Postmodern Works-

국문 초록 (Abstract)

턴도리 대죄(Tandori Dezső)는 헝가리 문학사에 있어서 중요한 업적을 남기고 있다. 특히 탈 전통을 추구하는 그의 새로운 작품들의 시도는 헝가리 문학의 수준을 유럽 문학의 주류 속에 접목시키는 역할을 했다. 뿐만 아니라 헝가리 현대 문학계에서 천재작가로 평가 받는 에스테르하지 피테르(Esterházy Péter)의 시작(詩作)기법에 크게 영향을 미쳤다. 그럼에도 불구하고 문학계로부터 그에 응당한 평가와 대우를 받지 못하고 있는듯하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 턴도리 대죄의 탈 전통 시도들이 제대로 평가받을 수 있도록 그의 탈 전통 시작(詩作) 기법들을 소개함을 목적으로 한다. 턴도리 대죄의 네오 아방가르드 작품들은 시가 추구하는 본질적인 가치 면에서는 이후의 포스트모더니즘 작품들과 크게 다를 바
없지만 시어(詩語) 선택이나 시의 형식면에서는 다른 특징을 보여준다. 가장 큰 특징 중의 하나는 포스트모더니즘 작품들이 시의 형식면에는 최소한 전통시의 형태를 유지하고 있었지만 네오 아방가르드 작품들에서는 기존의 글 형식 자체를 파괴한다. 시연과 행을 모두 해체하여 가로 띄어쓰기 규칙을 거부하고 세로로 띄어쓰기 없이 한 행을 구성하는 파격적인 시도를 하였다. 또 시 내용에 대한정보를 고의적으로 누락시키거나 시 속에 화학공식이나 수학 공식을 삽입함으로써 시에 대한 독자의 자의적인 해석과 능동적 참여를 유도하기도 하였다. 한 작품에서는 제목 외에 어떠한 글씨도 써 넣
지 않음으로써 시의 표현 수단인 언어라는 매개체로는 더 이상 작가의 사상을 표현할 수 없음을 지적하기도 하였다. 이후 포스트모더니즘 작품에서도 기존 시의 전통을 파괴하려는 노력은 계속되었다. 현대 사회 속에서 작가 『나』의 존재가 점점 의미를 잃어감에 따라 작품 속에서도 작가의 존재가 점점 사라지게 되었다. 화분 하나를 사면서 같이 받은 재배 설명서를 그대로 옮겨놓은 시가 등장하기도 하고 20세기 초 헝가리 작가이며 헝가리 문학잡지 ‘뉴거트’(Nyugat)의 동인 코스톨라니 대죄(Kosztolányi Dezső)의 시와 그 시에 대한 중고등학교 참고서에서 발췌(拔萃)한 문장들을 콜라
주(kollázs) 형식으로 그대로 엮어 시를 쓰기도 했다. 체제전환 이후에도 턴도리 대죄의 탈 전통시 시도는 계속되었다.
약 10여 년간 자신의 아파트에 칩거하며 새를 통한 새로운 시 창작 가능성을 모색하기 위해 새 만을 소재로 한 작품을 썼다. 그의 이러한 일련의 노력들은 헝가리 문학 발전에 크게 기여하였으며 특히 네오아방가르드와 포스트모더니즘 작품들은 에스테르하지 피테르의 포스트모더니즘 작품 창작에 크게 영향을 미쳤다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Dezső Tandori is a poet who has achieved important accomplishments in the literary history of Hungary. In particular, his attempts at new works to pursue detraditionalization have played a role in incorporating Hungarian literature into the mainstream of European literatures. In addition, they have greatly affected the poetic techniques of Péter Esterházy rated as a genius in Hungary's contemporary literary circles. evertheless, Dezső Tandori does not seem to receive any corresponding appreciation and treatment from the literary world. Therefore, this study aims to introduce his detraditionalized poetic techniques so that his attempts at detraditionalization can be appreciated. In terms of the essential worths pursued by poems, the neo-avantgarde works by Dezső Tandori are not greatly different from his following postmodern ones; but in terms of the selection of poetic words or forms, those show us other features than these. One of the greatest features is
that his neo-avantgarde works destroy the existing text forms themselves, whereas his postmodern works leave the traditional poetic forms at least unchanged. He has made unprecedented attempts to deconstruct all of
stanzas and verses, thus deny the rules of spacing words horizontally, and compose one verse vertically without spacing words. Also, he has induced readers to arbitrarily interpret or actively participate in poems by
deliberately omitting the information about poetic contents or inserting chemical or mathematical formula into poems. In a certain work, he has indicated that it is not possible any more to express the author's thoughts
with the medium of language, poetic means, by not writing in any alphabet except the title. In his following postmodern works, the efforts have been also continued to destroy the tradition of existing poems. As the being of 'I' increasingly loses its meaning in modern society, that of author is also increasingly disappearing in the works: one poem containing the transcribed cultivation manual of a flower pot appears, or another is written by connecting the poems of Dezső Kosztolányi, a coterie member of literary magazine 'Nyugat' at the early 20th century, with the sentences extracted from the reference works of middle and high schools on them in the form of kollázs. After the transition of system, Dezső Tandori's attempts at detraditionalization have been still continued. He has written works only on birds to explore the possibilities of creating new poems through birds, shutting himself up in his apartment room for 10 years or so. Such a series of his efforts have greatly contributed to the development of Hungarian literature. Especially, his neo-avantgarde and postmodern works have had great influences on the creation of postmodern works by Péter Esterházy.
