Vol.12 No.4
Duke and Imamoglu express the Eichler integrals associated to modular forms of weight 3 in terms of generalized hypergeometric functions. We extend this result to most general modular forms of weight 3.
A Finite Element Method Using Singular Functions For Helmholtz Equations: Part 1
Vol.12 No.1
In [7, 8], they proposed a new singular function(NSF) method to compute singular solutions of Poisson equations on a polygonal domain with re-entrant angles. Singularities are eliminated and only the regular part of the solution that is in H2 is computed. The stress intensity factor and the solution can be computed as a post processing step. This method was extended to the interface problem and Poisson equations with the mixed boundary condition. In this paper, we give NSF method for the Helmholtz equations -△u+Ku=f with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition. Examples with a singular point are given with numerical results.

Vol.12 No.1
Duggal-jeon-Kubrusly([2]) introduced Hilbert space operator T satisfying property T2≤T2, where T=(T*T)1/2. In this paper we extend this property to general version, namely property B(n) for each n ∈ N.
A New Version of First Return Time Test of Pseudorandomness
Vol.12 No.2
We present a new version of the first return time test for pseudorandomness. Let R(n) be the first return time of initial n-block with overlapping. An algorithm to calculate the probability distribution of the first return time R(n) for each starting block is presented and used to test pseudorandom number generators. The standard Z-test for log R(n) is applied to test the pseudorandom number generators.

First-order least-squares method of a distributed optimal control problem for the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations is considered. An optimality system for the optimal solution are reformulated to the equivalent first-order system by introducing velocity-flux variables and then the least-squares functional corresponding to the system is defined in terms of the sum of the squared L2 norm of the residual equations of the system. The optimal error estimates for least-squares finite element approximations are obtained.
An Approximation Scheme For A Geometrical Np-Hard Problem
Vol.11 No.4
In some wireless sensor networks, the sensor nodes are required to be loc ated sparsely at designated positions over a wide area, introducing the problem of adding minimum number of relay nodes to interconnect the sensor nodes. The problem finds its a bstract form in literature: the Minimum number of Steiner Points. Since it is known to be NP-hard, this paper proposes an approximation scheme to estimate the minimum number of relay nodes through the properties of the abstract form. Note that by reducing the numb er of nodes in a sensor network, the amount of data exchange over the net will be far decr eased.
An Advacnced Disk Block Caching Algorithm For Disk I/O Sub-System
Vol.11 No.3
A hard disk, which can be classified as an external storage is usually capacious and economical. In spite of the attractive characteristics and efforts on the performance improvement, however, the operation of the hard disk is apparently slower than a processor and the advancement has also been slowly conducted since it is based on mechanical process. On the other hand, the advancement of the processor has been drastically performed as semiconductor technology does. So, disk I/O sub-system becomes bottleneck of computer systems` performance. For this reason, the research on disk I/O sub-system is in progress to improve computer systems` performance. In this paper, we proposed multi-level LRU scheme and then apply it to the computer systems with buffer cache and disk cache. By applying the proposed scheme to computer systems, the average access time to disk blocks can be decreased. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm was verified by simulation results.
Solving a Matrix Polynomial by Conjugate Gradient Methods
Vol.11 No.4
One of well known and much studied nonlinear matrix equations is the matrix polynomial which has the form G(X) = A0Xm + A1Xm-1 + ··· + Am, where A0, A1, ···, Am and X are n×n real matrices. We show how the minimization methods can be used to solve the matrix polynomial G(X) and give some numerical experiments. We also compare Polak and Ribiere version and Fletcher and Reeves version on conjugate gradient method.
The Process of The Development of Hypoxia In An Abnormal Blood Flow 2
Vol.11 No.2
The oxygen distribution at steady state is analyzed mathematically in a hexagonal cylinder. The domain is penetrated by parallel cylindrical capillaries of different oxygen squirt. Asymptotic solution is used to determine the effect of axial diffusion. Oxygen concentration profiles are displayed at some positions of capillary-beds. At the venous end some tissue areas suffer from a shortage of oxygen.
An Iterative Distributed Source Method For The Divergence of Source Current In EEG Inverse Problem
Vol.12 No.3
This paper proposes a new method for the inverse problem of the three-dimensional reconstruction of the electrical activity of the brain from electroencephalography (EEG). Compared to conventional direct methods using additional parameters, the proposed approach solves the EEG inverse problem iteratively without any parameter. We describe the Lagrangian corresponding to the minimization problem and suggest the numerical inverse algorithm. The restriction of influence space and the lead field matrix reduce the computational cost in this approach. The reconstructed divergence of primary current converges to a reasonable distribution for three dimensional sphere head model.
