        무릎관절 각도가 발목 근육의 근전도 활동에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of the various knee angles and ground state on the muscular activities and fatigue of the ankle muscles by integrated electromyograms (iEMG) and median frequency of tibialis anterior (TA), peroneus longus (PL), flexor digitorum longus (FDL) and gastrocnemius (GC). Ten healthy male subjects were participated into stable and balance ball sessions at four angles of knee joint. The surface electromyograms (sEMG) were recorded from the TA, PL, FDL and GC on stable and balance ball with full weight bearing at four knee angles of 0˚, 15˚, 30˚ and 45˚. The time serial data of the surface electromyographic signals were transformed into integrated and frequency serial data by fast fourier transformation. On the stable ground, the iEMG signals of the TA, PL, FDL and GC were significantly higher at 45˚ and 30˚ of knee angles than 0˚ and 15˚ of knee flexion (p<0.05). On the balance ball, the iEMG of the TA, PL, FDL and GC were significantly higher at 45˚ and 30˚ of knee angles than 0˚ and 15˚of knee flexion (p<0.05). The median frequency of the TA, PL, FDL and GC were significantly lower at 45˚ and 30˚ of knee angles than 0˚ and 15˚ of knee on the stable ground (p<0.05). On the balance ball, also the median frequency of the TA, PL, FDL and GC were significantly lower at 45˚ and 30˚ of knee angles than 0˚ and 15˚ of knee flexion (p<0.05). The iEMG of the TA, PL, FDL and GC were significantly higher on the balance ball at 0˚, 15˚, 30˚ and 45˚ of knee angles compared with stable ground. The median frequency of the TA, PL, FDL and GC were significantly lower on the balance ball at 0˚, 15˚, 30˚ and 45˚ of knee angles compared with stable ground. These results indicate that the ground conditions and angles of the knee joint involved to muscular activities and fatigue of ankles muscles, may performed at first on stable ground and then balance ball in order to 0˚, 15˚, 30˚ and 45˚ of knee flexion.

        Dysfunction Syndrome을 가진 만성 요통환자의 요천골도수교정에 의한 자세의 변화 : 증례 보고 2

        본 case study는 척추 관절에 변화를 일으켜 근육의 변화와 통증에 변화가 있는 지를 알아보기 위하여 dysfunction syndrome을 가진 5명의 만성 여성 요통환자의 single group에 Geenman의 impulse technique(glade5)을 1회 적용 후 Pain Scale와 IBS -2000를 사용하여 검사 하였다. - Pain Scale는 0 ~ 100 단계로 나누어 환자에게 직접 아픈 정도를 기입하게 하고 치료 후 재검사와 통증의 변화 정도를 기입하게 하였다. -lBS-2000는 체형 진단기로써 레이저를 이용하여 인체 근육의 경사도를 등고선으로 나타내는 측정기로서 주로 근 Balance와 체형의 균형을 알아보는 기구이다. 측정 방법은 후두-견봉의 각도, C7-견봉의 각도, L4 -S2의 각도, 전 후만의 비, 척추의 기울기를 측정하였다. 자료 분석은 Pained T - test을 하였다. 이 측정치의 결과로 Dysfunction syndrome을 가진 요통환자의 척추 및 근 평형성의 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 주관적인 통증 변화는 교정 전 407.07 였고, 교정 후 309.24로 p<0.05를 보여 유의한 차이가 있었다. 2. 객관적인 측정으로써 후두 -견봉의 각도 변화는 교정 전 왼쪽 362.60, 오른쪽 373.16 였다. 교정 후 왼쪽 33.704.31, 오른쪽 353.05로 p>0.05를 보여 각도의 변화는 보이나 유의한 차이를 보이지 못 하였다. 3. C7 -견봉 각도의 변화는 교정 전 왼쪽 173.73, 오른쪽 175.30 였다. 교정 후 왼쪽 162.55, 오른쪽 172.07로 p>0.05를 보여 각도의 변화는 보이나 유의한 차이를 보이지 못 하였다. 4. 요추 골반의 각도 변화는 왼쪽 19.58 2.75, 오른쪽 20.13 2.75 였다. 교정 후 왼쪽 19.793.33, 오른쪽 21.094.51로 p >0.05를 보여 각도의 변화는 보이나 유의한 차이를 보이지 못하였다. 5. 척추의 전·후만 깊이의 변화는 교정 전 TTD는 2.20 1.44cm , TLD는 2.070.53cm 였고 교정 후 TTD는 2.19 0.49cm , TLD는 1.880.11cm 로 수치의 변화를 보이나 p>0.05로 유의한 차이는 없었다. 6. 척추의 전·후만 비의 변화는 교정 전 TTDR은 0.560.20, TTDR은 0.430.02 였고 교정 후 TTDR은 0.630.02, TLDR은 0.350.02로 변화를 보이나 유의한 차이는 없었다. 7. 척추의 기울기의 변화는 교정전 XD/YD는1.720.77, 교정 후 0.900.41로 수치의 변화는 보이나 유의한 차이를 보이지 못하였다. 전체적인 평형성의 수치를 보이나 유의한 차이는 보이지 못 하였다.

        Anti-inflammatory potential of saponins derived from cultured wild ginseng roots in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages

        <P>Ginseng, namely the root of Panax ginseng Meyer, is a well-known traditional medicine that has been used in Asian countries for thousands of years. Ginseng saponins have been shown to exert a variety of prominent pharmacological effects in a number of diseases. The aim of the present study was to identify the anti-inflammatory effects of total saponins extracted from cultured wild ginseng roots (TSWG) on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. An elevated production of nitric oxide (NO) was detected in the RAW 264.7 cells in response to stimulation with LPS, as shown by NO detection assay using Griess reagent. However, pretreatment with TSWG inhibited the production of NO through the suppression of inducible NO synthase gene expression. Furthermore, the LPS-induced gene expression and production of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1 beta) were significantly reduced by treatment with TSWG, as shown by ELISA, and western blot analysis and RT-PCR, respectively. In the LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells, nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kappa B) was translocated from the cytosol to the nucleus, while pre-treatment with TSWG induced the sequestration of NF-kappa B in the cytosol through the inhibition of the inhibitor of kappa B degradation, as shown by immunofluorescence staining. TSWG also contributed to the down-regulation of mitogen-activated protein kinases and Akt in the LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. Additionally, in the TSWG-treated RAW 264.7 cells, we observed the activation of nuclear factor (erythroid-derived 2)-like 2 and an increase in heme oxygenase-1 expression; these effects were associated with the inhibition of the generation of reactive oxygen species. The results from the present study indicate that TSWG exerts anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, suggesting that TSWG may be an effective therapeutic agent for inflammatory diseases and prevent cellular damage induced by oxidative stress.</P>

      • The C allele of synonymous SNP (rs1142636, Asn170Asn) in <i>SYN1</i> is a risk factor for the susceptibility of Korean female schizophrenia

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P><B>Objective:</B> The aim of this study was to investigate the association between the exonic single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of <I>synapsin I</I> (<I>SYN1</I>) (rs1142636, Asn170Asn, Xp11.23) and <I>SYN2</I> (rs2289708, 3′‐untranslated region, 3p25) in schizopherenia. <B>Methods:</B> Two hundred eighty six schizophrenia patients and 304 control subjects were recruited. SNPs with a know heterozygosity and minor allele frequency (MAF) > 0.1 in Asian populations were selected and genotyped by direct sequencing. <B>Results:</B> The allelic frequencies of rs1142636 (<I>SYN1</I>) were associated with schizophrenia (<I>P</I> < 0.05), respectively. The allelic frequency of rs1142636 in all subjects was associated with schizophrenia [<I>P</I> = 0.000059, OR = 2.17 (95% CI = 1.47–3.18)]. The C allele frequency of rs1142636 was higher in schizophrenia (20.8%) than that in controls (10.8%). In the analysis of gender, the allelic frequency of rs1142636 was also strongly associated with female schizophrenia [<I>P</I> = 0.0001, OR = 2.65 (95% CI = 1.61–4.36)], but not with male schizophrenia. The C allele frequency of rs1142636 was higher in female schizophrenia (22.2%) than that in female controls (9.7%). The rs2289708 SNP (<I>SYN2</I>) did not show any association between schizophrenia and controls. <B>Conclusions:</B> These results suggest that the C allele of a synonymous SNP (rs1142636, Asn170Asn, Xp11.23) in <I>SYN1</I> may be a risk factor for the susceptibility of Koreran female schizophrenia.         Hardware-in-the-loop Simulation Method for a Wind Farm Controller Using Real Time Digital Simulator

        A hardware-in-the-loop simulation (HILS) method for a wind farm controller using a real time digital simulator (RTDS) is presented, and performance of the wind farm controller is analyzed. A 100 MW wind farm which includes 5 MW wind power generation systems (WPGS) is modeled and analyzed in RSCAD/RTDS. The wind farm controller is implemented by using a computer, which is connected to the RTDS through transmission control protocol/internet protocol (TCP/IP). The HILS results show the active power and power factor of the wind farm, which are controlled by the wind farm controller. The proposed HILS method in this paper can be effectively utilized to validate and test a wind farm controller under the environment in practice without a real wind farm.

        Application of fracture mechanical assessment to in-wall shield ribs in ITER vacuum vessel

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In-wall shield ribs are installed between double walls of vacuum vessel and their role is to hold neutron shielding blocks. Since one of key issues on these structures is to sustain integrity during entire ITER operation without any in-service inspection or maintenance, fracture behavior shall be evaluated in design stage. In the present study, a weight function method was employed for crack initiation assessment. The most critical structure was selected as a representative one and its structural integrity was evaluated. In order to check validity of this method, an extended finite element method was adopted for bounding cases. As a result, not only structural safety but also quite conservatism were observed comparing to those of extended finite element analysis with similar tendency. It means that the weight function method could be a conservatively practical approach for fracture mechanical assessment of in-wall shield ribs.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Structural analysis of IWS rib assembly was performed and verified via RCC-MR. </LI> <LI> Systematic crack initiation assessment was conducted by using weight function method. </LI> <LI> Conservatism of the weight function method was verified by detailed X-FEM analyses. </LI> </UL> </P>

        Demonstration of the Usefulness of Optical Coherence Tomography in Imaging a Mouse Tail Model of Lymphedema

        To investigate the usefulness of optical coherence tomography (OCT) for imaging lymphedema, we directly compared it to other histological methods in a mouse model of lymphedema. We performed detailed imaging of the lymphedema lesion on a mouse tail. We imaged the mouse tail in vivo with OCT and created histopathological samples. We constructed a spectrometer-based OCT system using a fiber-optic Michelson interferometer. The light was directed to 50:50 couplers that split the light into reference and sample arms. Backscattered light from a reference mirror and the sample produced an interference fringe. An OCT image of the lymphedema model revealed an inflammatory reaction of the skin that was accompanied by edema, leading to an increase in the light attenuation in the dermal and subcutaneous layers. Similar to OCT image findings, histological biopsy showed an inflammatory response that involved edema, increased neutrophils in epidermis and subdermis, and lymphatic microvascular dilatation. Furthermore, the lymphedema model showed an increase in thickness of the dermis in both diagnostic studies. In the mouse tail model of lymphedema, OCT imaging showed very similar results to other histological examinations. OCT provides a quick and useful diagnostic imaging technique for lymphedema and is a valuable addition or complement to other noninvasive imaging tools.
