        AN ELECTRODE MODIFIED WITH AuNPs/GRAPHENE NANOCOMPOSITES FILM FOR THE DETERMINATION OF METHYL PARATHION RESIDUES

        A novel sensitive and elective electrochemical sensor was developed to detect methyl parathion(MP) based on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs)/graphene nanocomposites film. The AuNPs were modified onto graphene sheets using NaBH4 as a reductant. The obtained AuNPs/graphene nanocomposites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The electrochemical behavior of MP and interference studies were then investigated. Compared with metal ions and nitroaromatic compounds, which exist in environmental samples, the AuNPs/graphene/GCE exhibited high adsorption and strong affinity toward MP. Under optimized conditions, the oxidationpeak current of MP was linear to its concentration within the range of 4.0×10-7 –8.0×10-5M, with a detection limit (S/N=3) of 8.5×10-8 M. These results indicated that the AuNPs/graphene nanocomposites displayed a synergic effect involving the catalytic characteristics of graphene and AuNPs nanocomposites, which can effectively improve the electrochemicalproperties of MP. Furthermore, the AuNPs also enhanced sensor sensitivity to MP. Therefore, the AuNPs/graphene/GCE could be a promising sensor for the fast, sensitive and selective detection of MP in real samples.

        Investigation of the optimal fabrication of a single-carrier encapsulated fucoxanthin based on colloidal nanoparticles

        Fucoxanthin (FX) is a carotenoid with antioxidant, anti-obesity, anti-diabetic, anti-cancer and antibacterialactivities. It is poorly water soluble and highly sensitive to light, heat and the surrounding environment. Therefore, how to effectively encapsulate it and stabilize it for entry into the human body hasbecome a key research question at present. This study developed a single-carrier to encapsulate FX andshowed excellent characterization results. The experimental results showed that the diameters of FX-ZHparticles prepared by the four encapsulation processes ranged from 143.83 to 216.93 nm. Comparison ofantioxidant activity and stability to temperature and pH of the four complexes showed significant differences,with the best performance of the nanoparticles prepared using water-soluble method and a slowspeedstirrer. The nanocomplexes were proved to be more stable and more bioavailable, with a significant34.41% increase in FX content relative to free FX in the intestinal phase. Inhibition of human leukaemiacells HL-60 cells remained high, with 11.14% ± 6.03% inhibition at FX concentrations of 1 lg/mL. Thisstudy encapsulated FX based on colloidal nanoparticle systems for the first time using a single-carriermaterial, an innovation and breakthrough that could simplify the experimental steps and provide thenecessary basis for industrial realization.

        Anti-allergic Effects and Related Active Constituents of Mung Bean (Vignaradiatus Linn) Sprouts

        The mung bean (Vigna radiata) is an important food crop with preventative effects against human diseases. The anti-allergic activities of mung bean sprouts of different lengths were evaluated by assaying in vivo antipruritic activity and in vitro hyaluronidase inhibitory effects. After 48 h of growth, sprouts were determined to have the best activity and extracted with petroleum (PeF), ethyl acetate (EaF), and n-butanol (nBF). The active EaF extracts were further assayed for in vivo effects on compound 48/80-induced mast cell degranulation and histamine release, as well as the antidinitrophenyl (DNP) IgE-induced passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA) reaction. The main chemical constituents were further analyzed by UV spectrophotometry and high-performance liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometric detection (LC/MS/MS). EaF significantly protected against compound 48/80-induced mast cell degranulation and histamine release, and PCA. Flavonoids were determined to be the main contributors to the anti-allergic activity of the EaF extracts.
