        LncRNA A2M-AS1 lessens the injury of cardiomyocytes caused by hypoxia and reoxygenation via regulating IL1R2

        Background: Myocardial ischemia and reperfusion injury (MI/RI) is a complex pathophysiological process, which can lead to severe myocardial injury. The long noncoding RNA alpha-2-macroglobulin antisense RNA 1 (A2M-AS1) has been revealed to be abnormally expressed in MI, However, its function in MI and the potential mechanism are still unclear. Objective: To evaluate the functional role of A2M-AS1 in hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R)-induced neonatal cardiomyocytes and its potential molecular mechanism. Methods: Dataset GSE66360 was obtained from GEO database for analyzing the RNA expression of A2M-AS1 and interleukin 1 receptor type 2 (IL1R2). KEGG pathway enrichment analysis of the genes that co-expressed with A2M-AS1 was performed. Human neonatal cardiomyocytes were subjected to H/R to construct in vitro models. QRT-PCR and Western blot were adopted to test the levels of mRNA and protein. The viability and apoptosis of cardiomyocytes were tested by CCK-8 and flow cytometry assays, respectively. Results: The expression of A2M-AS1 was notably downregulated in H/R-treated cardiomyocytes. Overexpression of A2M-AS1 can notably enhance the cell viability of H/R-damaged cardiomyocytes, whereas knockdown of A2M-AS1 showed the opposite outcomes. Besides, a negative correlation was showed between A2M-AS1 and IL1R2 expression. In H/R-treated cardiomyocytes, overexpression of IL1R2 weakened the promoting proliferation and anti-apoptosis effects caused by overexpressing A2M-AS1, however, IL1R2-knockdown abolished the anti-proliferation and pro-apoptosis effects caused by silencing A2M-AS1. Conclusion: This study demonstrates the potential regulatory role of A2M-AS1/ IL1R2 axis in cardiomyocytes suffered from H/R, and provides insight into the protection of MI/RI.

      • 시멘트의 분말도 변화에 따른 시멘트 모르터의 역학적 특성

        This study discusses the influence of fineness of cement on mechanical properties of cement mortar. According to the result, compressive strength increases in order of C>B>OPC>A and C>B>A>OPC at mixture proportion of 1:1 and 1:3 respectively. An increase of compressive strength by increase of fineness of cement is because internal structure of concrete grows dense by an increase of hydration reaction. As for curing condition, compressive strength is higher in standard curing than in air curing at mixture proportion of 1:1 and 1:3. There is not any tendency of strength development with age and fineness of cement by 91days. Length change by drying shrinkage increases in order of C>B>OPC>A at mixture proportion of 1:1 and 1:3 due to an increase of water content by variation of W/C.

        In this paper, availability of deteriorated remicon due to delaying delivery time is discussed. According to test results, fluidity and air content of plain concrete exhibited a tendency to decline with a elapse of time. After 90 minutes since mixed, use of superplasticizer and AE admixture resulted in an increase in fluidity and air content. Adequate dosage of superplasticizer and AE adimixture is found to add with 0.4% and 0.002% respectively to restore the level of original slump and air content from loss one. Setting time of concrete exhibited an acceleration with an increase in leaving time of concrete. Compressive strength of plain concrete is enhanced with and increase of leaving time of concrete. Therefore, it is found that the use of superplasticizer with 0.4% and AE admixture with 0.002% has a desirable effect on restoring the deteriorated quality of concrete related to fluidity, air content and setting time without strength loss caused by delivery time delaying.

      • Fucosyltransferase IV Enhances Expression of MMP-12 Stimulated by EGF via the ERK1/2, p38 and NF-kB Pathways in A431Cells

        Fucosyltransferase IV (FUT4) has been implicated in cell adhesion, motility, and tumor progression in human epidermoid carcinoma A431 cells. We previously reported that it promotes cell proliferation through the ERK/MAPK and PI3K/Akt signaling pathways; however, the molecular mechanisms underlying FUT4-induced cell invasion remain unknown. In this study we determined the effect of FUT4 on expression of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-12 induced by EGF in A431 cells. Treatment with EGF resulted in an alteration of cell morphology and induced an increase in the expression of MMP-12. EGF induced nuclear translocation of nuclear factor kB (NF-${\kappa}B$) and resulted in phosphorylation of $IkB{\alpha}$ in a time-dependent manner. In addition, ERK1/2 and p38 MAPK were shown to play a crucial role in mediating EGF-induced NF-${\kappa}B$ translocation and phosphorylation of $I{\kappa}B{\alpha}$ when treated with the MAPK inhibitors, PD98059 and SB203580, which resulted in increased MMP-12 expression. Importantly, we showed that FUT4 up-regulated EGF-induced MMP-12 expression by promoting the phosphorylation of ERK1/2 and p38 MAPK, thereby inducing phosphorylation/degradation of $I{\kappa}B{\alpha}$, NF-${\kappa}B$ activation. Base on our data, we propose that FUT4 up-regulates expression of MMP-12 via a MAPK-NF-${\kappa}B$-dependent mechanism.

        Migration by Chinese Korean Women

        Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in Jilin province is the largest settlement of Chinese Koreans in China. The floating population surveillance survey conducted by the National Population and Family Planning Commission in 2011 suggested that 47 percent of Chinese Korean out-migrants are women. The results of our binary logistic regression show that married women aged 20-59, with higher educational levels and agricultural household registration status, are more likely to migrate. A multinomial logistic regression indicates that household category does not play a significant role in out-migration. Furthermore, women aged between 20 and 59 with higher educational levels are more likely to choose South Korea as their destination, while married women and women with no formal education are more likely to move to other provinces in China. This paper also discusses the social and economic impact of out-migration (of Chinese Korean females) on the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. 吉林省延边朝鲜族自治州是中国最大的朝鲜族聚居地。2011年中国国 家人口计生委流动人口及其影响因素监测数据显示中国朝鲜族迁出人 口中有百分之四十七的迁出者是女性人口。二分类回归分析结果显示20-59岁已婚的、受教育程度较高的和农业户口的女性更倾向于选择迁移。多分类回归分析结果显示户籍性质对迁出的影响不显著。受教育程度较高的20-59岁女性更愿意将韩国作为他们的迁出目的地,而已婚的女性和教育程度较低的女性则更倾向于选择中国国内省际迁移。本文最后还讨论了中国朝鲜族女性迁出对当地的社会经济影响。

        This paper deals with the problem of delay-dependent H∞ control for AUV system with external disturbance. A delay-dependent H∞ control criteria is obtained and formulated in the form of LMI. It is obtained through Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach and an integral inequality. Simulation example shows that the proposed method is effective.

        Direct Determination of Interchain Transfer Constants for Radical Polymerization of Benzyl Acrylate by RAFT Polymerization and Polymer Chromatography

        Chain transfer reactions are important side reactions in the radical polymerization of acrylates. Discrimination between interchain and intrachain transfer is still a challenge for the study of interchain transfer. A prepolymer, poly(benzyl acrylate) with hydroxy terminals (HO-PBzA), was designed and used in the reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization of BzA to measure the interchain transfer degree, with benzyl N-carbazole dithiocarbamate (BCBD) as the RAFT agent. Liquid chromatography at critical conditions was used to separate and measure interchain transfer products and then BzA interchain transfer constants (Ctr) at different temperatures determined without other kinetic parameters. Experimental results showed that experimental parameters in RAFT polymerization, except the high dosage of BCBD, had no significant effects on the measured Ctr, which showed good repeatability. The Ctr of benzyl acrylate at 100-120 °C was in the order of 1-2×10-4 and the activation energy of Ctr was at 31.1 kJ∙mol-1.

      • Stability Analysis of Baishuihe Landslide Considering Spatial Variability of Saturated Hydraulic Conductivity

        Spatial variability of saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks) in accumulative landslide exists and affects the saturated-unsaturated seepage characteristic. It is important to carry out the stability analysis of landslide considering spatial variability of Ks. Spatial distribution characteristics of Ks in Baishuihe landslide obtained by the surface nuclear magnetic resonance technology (SNMR) are investigated using the geostatistics. The non-stationary random field of Ks and the non-intrusive stochastic finite element process are established. On this basis, numerical simulations of the uncertain model and deterministic model under reservoir water fluctuation are carried out to study their seepage-deformation and stability characteristics. The results show that: compared with the deterministic model, the change of the pore pressure of the uncertain model is more lagged and more obvious during the reservoir water filling period; the overall displacement of the uncertain model is larger than the deterministic model under reservoir water drawdown; with the increase of reservoir water deceleration, the pore pressure hysteresis of uncertain model is more obvious, where displacement deformation is larger and stability is smaller. Stability analysis shows that ignoring the spatial variability of Ks will overestimate the stability of the landslide.

        Association between Higher Blood Pressure and Risk of Diabetes Mellitus in Middle-Aged and Elderly Chinese Adults

        Background: To examine the prospective association between higher blood pressure (BP) and risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in middle-aged and elderly Chinese adults. Methods: A total of 9,642 middle-aged and elderly Chinese adults (≥45 years old; 47.30% men) without diabetes from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study were included for analyses. Participants were categorized into three groups: normal BP, prehypertension, and hypertension, according to the 2010 Chinese Guidelines for the Management of Hypertension. The incidence of T2DM was determined by self-reported physician diagnosis during two follow-up surveys conducted in 2013 to 2014 and 2015 to 2016. Results: During the 4-year follow-up, 429 participants (4.45%) developed T2DM, including 3.51% of the men and 5.29% of the women. The incidence rates of T2DM were 2.57%, 3.75%, and 6.71% in the normal BP, prehypertension, and hypertension groups, respectively. After adjustment for age, sex, education level, residence, smoking status, alcohol consumption, body mass index, waist circumference, and dyslipidemia, both prehypertension (odds ratio [OR], 1.32; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.98 to 1.77) and hypertension (OR, 2.02; 95% CI, 1.54 to 2.64) were associated with increased risk of T2DM, compared to those with a normal BP. The ORs associated with T2DM were 1.08 (95% CI, 1.03 to 1.13) for an increase of 10 mm Hg in systolic BP and 1.06 (95% CI, 1.01 to 1.10) for an increase of 5 mm Hg in diastolic BP. Conclusion: Higher BP is a risk factor for T2DM in middle-aged and elderly Chines. It may be a potential target for diabetes prevention.
