      • 생활폐기물을 이용한 세라믹스 판재 개발

        생활하수처리장에서 발생하는 하수슬러지의 용융슬래그와 장석, 물유리 및 전분을 이용하여 세라믹스 다공판을 제조하였다. 슬래그의 주성분은 SiO_2와 Al_2O_3로서 점토와 유사한 성질을 갖고 있어 세라믹스의 대체원료로 사용이 가능하였다. 하수슬러지를 1,200℃에서 2시간 열처리하여 얻어진 용융물을 수증에 급랭시켜 1∼3mm 입경의 슬래그 분말을 제조하고 80∼95wt%의 슬래그, 5∼20wt%의 장석, 5∼15wt%의 물유리 및 2wt%의 전분을 혼합하여 1,100∼1,200℃에서 2시간 소성하여 시편을 제조하였다. 슬래그의 첨가량과 소성온도가 증가함에 따라 시편의 부피비중 및 압축강도는 증가하였으나, 기공률과 흡수율은 감소하였다. 1,030℃에서 2시간 소성한 No. 1, 4 및 7번 시편은 부피비중 1.52∼1.67, 기공률과 흡수율 23.3∼ 32.5% 및 14.1∼19.3%, 압축강도 81∼173kgf/㎠의 값을 나타내었다. 또한, 슬래그의 첨가량과 소성온도가 동등한 시편은 물유리의 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 부피비중과 압축강도가 증가하여 No.7, 8 및 9번 시편은 부피비중 1.52∼1.94, 압축강도 81∼385kgf/㎠의 값을 나타내었다. 시편의 중금속용출량은 미량으로서 매립지 침출수배출 허용기준치보다 낮게 측정되어 주위환경에 해가 없고 흡음특성이 양호하여 본 연구에서 제조한 세라믹스 다공판은 흡음판으로의 이용이 가능하였다. Utilization of sewage sludge from the sewage sludge treatment facilities and the municipal wastes became very important matter to be solve for the environmental protection and recycling of waste materials. The reusability of sewage sludge slag as a raw material in the manufacturing process of ceramics was highly expected because the chemical composition of slag was mostly SiO_2 and Al_2O_3 and its properties were very similar with clay. Sewage sludge slag was fabricated by sintering at 1,200℃ for 2 hours and it was crushed into powder with particle size of 1∼3mm by a rapid cooling treatment in water. Then, the mixture of 80∼95 wt% of slag, 5∼20 wt% of feldspar, 5∼15 wt% of water glass and 2 wt% of starch were heated at 1,000∼1,100℃ for 2 hours. The density and compressive strength of specimen increased with increasing the sintering temperature and the addition amount of slag, No. 1, 4 and 7, specimens were shown 1.52∼1.67 of bulk density, 23.3∼32.5% of porosity, 14.1∼19.3% of water absorption and 81∼173 kgf/㎠ of compressive strength. And, that of the specimen at the same sintering temperature and addition amount of slag increased with increasing the addition amount of water glass, No. 7, 8 and 9 specimens, bulk density was 1.52∼1.94 and the compressive strength was 81∼385kgf/㎠. An extraction test for specimen to detect the toxic materials, such as Cu, Cd, Cr, Pb and As, showed below the permitted standard of land-filling extractable heavy metal contents. Sound absorption coefficients of specimen had a good properties in No. 7 specimen, and can be used as a sound absorption plate.

        A 46 year-old woman who had worked repetitive manual job for 3 years visited our hospital because of aggravated right hand sensory symptom and newly developed limitation of 3, 4, 5th finger extension. In physical examination, moderate swelling of volar aspect of wrist and limitation of finger extension was noticed as well as positive tinnel sign. We confirmed carpal tunnel syndrome after electrodiagnostic studies and associated flexor tenosynovitis of 4th flexor tendon in the carpal tunnel through MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) study. She was successfully treated with conservative program including wrist splint and steroid injection. We also tracked the result of treatment using MRI and electrodiagnositic studies. Analyzing her work procedure, we concluded that repetitive and forceful exertional nature of job impose a high burden on hand and wrist region and it caused her carpal tunnel syndrome.

        We studied the homogeneous plating on the dented part of door frame by decreasing or increasing the current density, installing air blower, adjusting the length between anode and cathode, using auxiliary anode, developing the new plating bath and etc. When we performed the zinc cynade plating, there was no way to achieve the homogeneous plating layer without using auxiliary anode. However, it wasn't a suitable and efficient method for appling to the real process. After we developed the plating bath that had the uniform current density, we were able to get the homogeneous plating layer of zinc on the dented door frame.

      • 관해유도 항암요법을 받는 백혈병 환자에서 진균 감염증의 예방 : 무작위 배정법과 이중 눈가림법에 의한 Fluconazole과 Nystain의 효과에 관한 다기관 공동연구 A Randomized, Double-blind, Multicenter Trial to Compare Fluconazole with Nystatin

        Fluconazole의 진균 감염증 예방 효과와 안전성에 관하여 3개 대학병원에서 관해유도화학요법을 받는 급성 백혈병환자를 대상으로 무작위 배정법과 너도나도 누가림법에 의하여 연구하였다. 모두 62명의 환자에게 fluconazole(100㎎ bid) 또는 nystatin(1,000,000IU/day)을 무작위로 투여하였다. 투약은 관해유도화학요법과 같은 날짜에 시작하여 호중구수가 1,000㎣이상으로 회복되거나 진균 감염증이 확인되거나 의심되어 Amphotericin-B를 시작하거나, 약과 관련된 부작용이 나타날 때까지 계속하였다. 진균 colonization은 fluconazole군에서 감소하였으나 nystqatin군에서는 증가하였다, 표재성 진균감염증으로 nystatin군에서 C. albicans 진균혈증 1례와 C.parasilosis 진균혈중 1례가 발생하였다. 경험적 항진균요법으로 Amphotericin-B를 투여한 경우는 fluconazolerns 34명중 7례(21%), nystatinrns 28명중 10례(36%)였다(p<0.05). Fluconazole군과 nystatin군 사이에 부작용이나 사망률에 차이는 없었다. 결론적으로, fluconazole은 관해유도화학요법을 받는 급성 백혈병환자에서 진균의 colonization을 줄이는데 효과적이고 안전한 항진균제이다. We made a randomized, double-blind, multicenter trial to compare the efficacy and safety of fluconazole with nystatin for prevention of fungal infections in patients with acute leukemia. Sixty-two adult undergoing remission induction chemotherapy for cute leukemia were enrolled. Patients were randomly assigned to receive either fluconazole (100㎎ bid) or nystatin(1,000,000IU×6/day) with corresponding placebo. The study drug was started in initiation of chemotherapy and continued until recovery of neutrophil counts(>1,000/㎣), development of proven or suspected invasive fungal infection, or the occurrence of drug-related toxicity. Fungal colonization decreased in fluconazole(F) group, however increased in nystain(n) group. Superficial fungal infection occurred in 1 of 34 F group, whereas invasive fungal infection developed in 3 of 28 N group. Empirical amphotericin-B therapy was given in 7 of 34(21%) F group and 10 of 28(36%) N group(p>0.05). The incidence of drug-related side effects and overall moratlity were similar in both study groups.

        A new Middle-Late Maturity rice cultivar with Excellent Grain Quality "Hopyeongbyeo"

        Hopyeongbyeo is an anther culture derived Japonica rice (Oriza sativa L.) cultivar from the cross between Hitomebore and Hwajinbyeo by the rice breeding team of Honam Agricultural Research Institute (HARI), NICS, RDA, in 2003. This cultivar has a about 126 days growth duration from transplanting to harvesting. The short and round grain shape of Hopyeongbyeo is translucent with non-glutinous endosperm. Amylose content of rice grain is about 17.8% and high palatability of cooked rice compared with Nampyeongbyeo. This cultivar shows resistant to bacterial blight pathogenes of K1. The milled rice yield of Hopyeongbyeo is about 5.13MT/ha at ordinary transplanting culture in the local adaptability test. Hopyeongbyeo would be adaptable for the southern plain area of Korea.

      • Lithofacies modeling by multipoint statistics and economic evaluation by NPV volume for the early Cretaceous Wabiskaw Member in Athabasca oilsands area, Canada

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The static modeling and dynamic simulation are essential and critical processes in petroleum exploration and development. In this study, lithofacies models for Wabiskaw Member in Athabasca, Canada are generated by multipoint statistics (MPS) and then compared with the models built by sequential indicator simulation (SIS). Three training images (TIs) are selected from modern depositional environments; the Orinoco River Delta estuary, Cobequid bay-Salmon River estuary, and Danube River delta environment. In order to validate lithofacies models, average and variance of similarity in lithofacies are calculated through random and zonal blind-well tests. In random six-blind-well test, similarity average of MPS models is higher than that of SIS model. The Salmon MPS model closely resembles facies pattern of Wabiskaw Member in subsurface. Zonal blind-well tests show that successful lithofacies modeling for transitional depositional setting requires additional or proper zonation information on horizontal variation, vertical proportion, and secondary data.</P> <P>As Wabiskaw Member is frontier oilsands lease, it is impossible to evaluate the economics from production data or dynamic simulation. In this study, a dynamic steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) performance indicator (SPIDER) on the basis of reservoir characteristics is calculated to build 3D reservoir model for the evaluation of the SAGD feasibility in Wabiskaw Member. SPIDER depends on reservoir properties, economic limit of steam-oil ratio, and bitumen price. Reservoir properties like porosity, permeability, and water saturation are measured from 13 cores and calculated from 201 well-logs. Three dimensional volumes of reservoir properties are constructed mostly based on relationships among properties. Finally, net present value (NPV) volume can be built by equation relating NPV and SPIDER. The economic area exceeding criterion of US$ 10,000 is identified, and the ranges of reservoir properties are estimated. NPV-volume-generation workflow from reservoir parameter to static model provides cost- and time- effective method to evaluate the oilsands SAGD project.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Multipoint statistics show that the Salmon MPS model is the most suitable lithofacies model. </LI> <LI> Economic potential confirmed in the lower part of western study area based on net present value. </LI> <LI> Time and cost reduced by calculating NPV using the reservoir parameters static models. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

        Dynamic Reference Scheme with Improved Read Voltage Margin for Compensating Cell-position and Background-pattern Dependencies in Pure Memristor Array

        In this paper, a new dynamic reference scheme is proposed to improve the read voltage margin better than the previous static reference scheme. The proposed dynamic reference scheme can be helpful in compensating not only the background pattern dependence but also the cell position dependence. The proposed dynamic reference is verified by simulating the CMOS-memristor hybrid circuit using the practical CMOS SPICE and memristor Verilog-A models. In the simulation, the percentage read voltage margin is compared between the previous static reference scheme and the new dynamic reference scheme. Assuming that the critical percentage of read voltage margin is 5%, the memristor array size with the dynamic scheme can be larger by 60%, compared to the array size with the static one. In addition, for the array size of $64{\times}64$, the interconnect resistance in the array with the dynamic scheme can be increased by 30% than the static reference one. For the array size of $128{\times}128$, the interconnect resistance with the proposed scheme can be improved by 38% than the previous static one, allowing more margin on the variation of interconnect resistance.
