        종 분포 모형을 이용한 구상나무림의 지속 및 쇠퇴에 관한 연구 - 전라남도 광양시 백운산을 중심으로 -

        The present study investigated the habitats of Korean fir trees (Abies koreana E. H. Wilson) on Mt. Baekwun (Baekwun-san), determined the current distribution, quantified the contribution of biological and nonbiological environmental factors affecting the distribution, derived actual and potential habitats, presented a plan for the establishment of protected areas, applied RCP 8.5 climate change scenario to analyze the effects of climate change on the future distribution of Korean fir trees, and predicted future potential habitats. According to the results of the study, 3,325 Korean fir trees (DBH >= 2.5 cm) inhabited Mt. Baekwun, and their distribution area was approximately 150 ha. Populations of Korean fir trees were confirmed to exist at an altitude of 900 m above sea level and were distributed up to 1,200 m. Based on potential distribution, areas appropriate for habitation by Korean fir trees were analyzed to be 450 ha, three times the current distribution area, with a focus on Sang Peak (Sang-bong), Eokbul Peak (Eokbul-bong), Ddari Peak (Ddari-bong), and Dosol Peak (Dosol-bong). The forest stands near Sang Peak, the main peak, were evaluated as those with the most appropriate potential for the habitation of Korean fir trees, and populations of the trees tended to prefer the northern slope rather than the southern slope. When climate change scenario RCP 8.5 was applied and future potential distribution was analyzed, the habitats were expected to decrease in area to 20 ha by 2050, with a focus on Sang Peak, and areas appropriate for habitation were predicted not to exist by 2080. Judging from such results, as global warming accelerates, the habitats of Korean fir trees are clearly expected to move from lowlands to highlands.

        미술요소 중심 협동미술활동이 유아의 친사회성, 언어능력, 그리기표상능력에 미치는 효과

        본 연구의 목적은 미술요소 중심의 협동미술활동이 유아의 친사회성, 언어능력, 그리기 표상능력에 미치는 효과를 검증하는 데 있다. 연구대상은 만 5세 유아 50명이며, 평균 원령은 71.04개월이었다. 실험집단 유아들은 미술요소 중심의 협동미술 활동에 참여하였고, 비교집단 유아들은 표현중심의 협동미술 활동을 실시하였다. 연구도구로는 유아의 친사회성 능력 측정을 위하여, McGinnis와 Goldstein의 ‘사회적 기술상황 검사도구’를 번안하고 수정하여 사용하였고, 유아의 언어능력 측정은 서울장애인복지관이 개발한 ‘구문이해력검사’, 그리기 표상능력은 지성애의 ‘그리기 표상능력 측정척도’를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS18.0 프로그램을 사용하여 독립표본 t검증과 공변량분석을 사용하여 집단 간 차이를 분석하였다. 연구결과 실험집단이 비교집단 보다 친사회성, 언어능력, 그리기 표상능력에서 점수가 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타나 본 연구에서 개발한 소집단 종이접기 활동이 유아의 친사회성, 언어능력, 그리기표상능력 증진에 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. The purpose of this study was to construct the art elements-centered cooperative art activity and to analyze the effects of the art elements-centered cooperative art activity on young children's pro-sociability, language ability, and drawing representation ability. The subjects used in this study were fifty 5 year-old student who attended S kindergarden in G city. Mean age of the subjects was 71.04 months. The translated and modified version of ‘Social Situation Measurement’ devised by McGinnis and Goldstein(1990), the ‘Understanding about Syntactic Meaning Scale’ developed and standardized by Seoul Community Rehabilitation Center(2009), and the ‘Drawing representation Ability Scale’ made by Chi, Sung-Ae(2001) were used to measure pro-sociability, language ability, and drawing representation ability of young children respectively. The study also used Independent t-test and ANCOVA to analyze the data. It was revealed that the scores of the experimental group in the pro-sociability, language ability, and drawing representation ability were significantly higher than the scores of the comparative group. In conclusion, the results of this study suggest that the Art Elements-Centered Cooperative Art Activity is effective in promting youngchildren's pro-sociability, language ability, and drawing representation ability.

      • Efficacy and Safety of Regorafenib for Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma after Progression on Sorafenib: A Retrospective Analysis of Real World Data

        Aims: Regorafenib is an oral multikinase inhibitor indicated as second-line therapy for patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) who have progressed after sorafenib. This study aimed to assess the clinical efficacy and safety of regorafenib in real life. Methods: Consecutive patients between August 2017 and December 2019 with advanced HCC receiving regorafenib were retrospectively included from seven University hospitals in Korea. Radiological responses and adverse events were evaluated using the modified Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors and the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events version 4.0, respectively. Results: A total of 96 patients were administered regorafenib as second-line therapy after progression on sorafenib. Eighty-eight (91.7%) and 82 (85.4%) patients were classified as BCLC stage C and Child-pugh A. The median follow up was 6.2 months (range 0.5-23.6) after initiation of regorafenib commencement. The median progression-free survival was 4.2 months (95% CI, 2.8-5.6months), and the median overall survival (OS) was 14.0 months (95% CI, 9.0-19.0 months). The most common grade 3-4 toxicities were hand-foot skin reaction (n=9, 9.4%) and increased aspartate aminotransferase (n=4, 4.2%). Twenty seven out of 83 patients who had discontinued regorafenib received sequential systemic therapy after regorafenib. Conclusions: Our real life data demonstrate that regorafenib is a well-tolerated and effective treatment option for patients with advanced HCC who have progressed after sorafenib.

      • Snail1 is Stabilized by O-GlcNAc Modification in Hyperglycemic Condition and Causes Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition

        Protein O-phosphorylation can occur reciprocal with O-GlcNAc modification and represents a regulatory principle for proteins. O-phosphorylation of serine by GSK-3β on Snail1, a transcriptional repressor of E-cadherin and a key regulator of the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) program, results in its proteasomal degradation. We show that Snail1 carries O-GlcNAc at serine112 that stabilizes it by suppressing O-phosphorylation-mediated degradation. Stabilization by O-GlcNAc of Snail1 results in attenuation of E-cadherin mRNA expression. Enhanced O-GlcNAc modification occurred under hyperglycemic conditions and initiated EMT by transcriptional suppression of E-cadherin through Snail1. Thus, a molecular link exists between cellular glucose metabolism and the control of EMT by dynamic reciprocal O-phosphorylation and O-GlcNAc modification of Snail1.

      • Solar urticaria in Korean patients

        Background: Solar urticaria (SU) is an uncommon type of photodermatoses characterized by erythematous wheal with pruritus after sunlight exposure, which shows a female predominance. Only a few studies to analyze the clinical features of SU were reported in Asia. Objectives: We aimed to analyze the clinical and photobiological characteristics of SU in Korea. Methods: We retrospectively investigated the medical records of patients with SU who visited the department of dermatology, Konkuk university medical center from January 2005 to January 2020. Results: Of a total of 44 patients, 36 (81.8%) were male and 8 (18.2%) were female. The mean age at onset was 17.6 years (range, 5-47) and the mean threshold time was 19.7 minutes. Among 32 patients who underwent phototesting, the action spectrum most commonly implicated was ultraviolet (UV) A only in 12 (37.5%), and then visible light (415nm) only was responsible for SU in 8 (25.0%). Three patients (9.4%) were induced by both UVA and visible light (415nm). Even 4 patients (12.5%) were triggered by only natural sunlight. Serum immunoglobulin E levels were measured in 33 patients, and 17 (51.5%) showed values higher than normal. The treatment most widely used were oral antihistamine (43.2%), followed by phototherapy (13.6%). Conclusion: SU is a rare photodermatosis in Korea, which shows a male preponderance. In this study, UVA and visible light (415nm) were predominant action spectrum of SU.

        Effect of Hydrogen in the Gate Insulator on the Bottom Gate Oxide TFT

        The effect of hydrogen in the alumina gate insulator on the bottom gate oxide thin film transistor (TFT) with an InGaZnO film as the active layer was investigated. TFT with more H-containing alumina films (TFT A) fabricated via atomic layer deposition using a water precursor showed higher stability under positive and negative bias stresses than that with less H-containing alumina deposited using ozone (TFT B). While TFT A was affected by the pre-vacuum annealing of GI, which resulted in Vth instability under NBS, TFT B did not show a difference after the pre-vacuum annealing of GI. All the TFTs showed negative-biasenhanced photo instability.

      • A New Method of Liver Size Estimation on Hepatic Scintigram : Hepato-abdominal Ratio

        Estimation of liver size is essential in the diagnosis of liver disease. We carried out the present study to determine the normal upper limit of relative liver size by means of hepato-abdominal ratio. We measured liver size using 4 linear diameters of the liver and, as the reference, the abdominal transverse diameter (the distance from the right margin of the liver to the left margin of the spleen) was measured. Hepato-abdominal ratio was calculated by dividing the diameters of liver with the abdominal transverse diameter. The hepato-abdominal ratio using the midline vertical diameter is 0.43±0.06 in the normal group and 0.53±0.07 in the hepatomegaly group. It seems warranted to suggest hepatomegaly when hepato-abdominal ratio using the midline vertical diameter is 0.5 or more in the interpretation of hepatic scintigram. Various linear measurement of the liver in the normal and hepatomegaly group were evaluated and the concept of the hepato-abdominal ratio was introduced as a new reliable criteria of liver size estimation. 1. The smallest value was recorded with the midline vertical diameter. It was 4.2±0.4 cm in the normal group and 5.0±0.6 cm in the hepatomegaly group. 2. The diameter using other methods ranged from 5.6 to 7.2 cm in the normal group 'and 6.3 to 7.5 cm in the hepatomegaly group. 3. There was significant difference in the hepato-abdominal ratios between the normal and hepatomegaly group. 4. The hepato-abdominal ratio using the midline vertical diameter was 0.43±0.06 in the normal group and 0.53±0.07 in the hepatomegaly group. Among various hepato-abdominal ratios, the ratio of the midline vertical diameter/the transverse abdominal diameter was most significantly different between the normal nand hepatomegaly group. 5. The 99% tolerance limits of the hepato-abdominal ratio using the midline vertical diameter was 0.41-0.45 in the normal group and 0.51-0.55 in the hepatomegaly group. 6. It was warranted in the interpretation of hepatic scintigram to suggest hepatomegaly when the hepato-abdominal ratio using the midline vertical diameter is 0.5 or larger.

      • O-GlcNAc Modification on E-cadherin repressor Snail confers Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition

        The transcriptional repressor Snail plays a key role in epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) by which direct repression of E-cadherin transcription. Therefore, regulation of Snail expression level in epithelial tumor cells is important not only for maintaining of epithelial homeostasis, but also for invasion and metastasis of cancer cells by the EMT program. Series of Ser imbedded in Snail are phosphorylated by GSK3 and Snail expression is dynamically regulated by Wnt signaling together with β-catenin while driving a Snail-dependent EMT program. Glucose flux through the hexosamine biosynthetic pathway (HBP) can be used for the source of O-linked β-N-acetylglucosamine(O-GlcNAc) modification on Ser and Thr residues of various nucleocytoplasmic proteins. In this study, we demonstrate that Ser112 of Snail is O-GlcNAcylated and this adjacent-site occupancy inhibits phosphorylation by GSK-3, resulting in increased Snail stability and attenuation of E-cadherin proximal promoter activity and transcription level. Furthermore, Overexpression of OGT induces in vivo invasion program of epithelial cancer cells by Snail-dependent manner. Taken together, our results indicate dynamic interplay between O-GlcNAcylation and GSK-3 phosphorylation of Snail, and our observations may provide the molecular insight of pathogenic and prognostic correlation between cancer progression and hyperglycemic condition of diabetes.
