This paper investigates the determinants of credit accessibility and the effect of credit on the income of farm households borrowing from Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Giong Rieng District Branch, Kien Giang Province. Based on the primary data of 200 farming households who are the customer of the bank, the study applied the Probit regression model to examine determinant factors of credit accessibility of farm households and employed the Propensity score matching method to investigate the impact of credit on households’ income. The findings of the Probit regression shown that three independent variables that significantly influence the access to credit of households are household size, income source, and farm size. Besides that, the Propensity score matching method results showed a difference of 23.799 million VND/year between the income of borrowing households and that of non-borrowing households at the significance level of 1%. The difference in the imcome from the interval and central matching methods are VND 24.700 million VND/year and VND 24.633 million VND/year, respectively. Given empirical findings suggetsted that several recommendations to increase the credit accessibility of farm households, thereby creating favorable conditions for improving their income.

Background: This study aimed to identify the location of the optic foramen in relation to the anterior sphenoid sinus wall, which is essential information for surgeons in planning and performing endoscopic transnasal surgery. Methods: Computed tomography scans of 200 orbits from 100 adult patients with no abnormalities were examined. The results included the location of the optic foramen in relation to the anterior sphenoid sinus wall and the distance between them, as well as the distance from the optic foramen and the anterior sphenoid sinus wall to the carotid prominence in the posterior sphenoid sinus. Results: The optic foramen was anterior to the anterior sphenoid sinus wall in 48.5% of orbits, and posterior in the remaining 51.5%. The mean distance from the optic foramen to the anterior sphenoid sinus wall was 3.82±1.25 mm. The mean distances from the optic foramen and the anterior sphenoid sinus wall to the carotid prominence were 7.67±1.73 and 7.95±2.53 mm, respectively. Conclusion: The optic foramen was anterior to the anterior wall of the sphenoid sinus in approximately half of the orbits examined in this study, and posterior in the remaining half. The mean distance from the optic foramen to the anterior sphenoid sinus wall of the sphenoid sinus was 3.82±1.25 mm.
Rate of Phonon Excitation and Conditions for Phonon Generation in Rectangular Quantum Wires
Tran Cong PHONG,Dinh Quoc VUONG,Le DINH,Nguyen Quang BAU 한국물리학회 2006 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.49 No.III
Phonon generation via the Cerenkov eect in rectangular quantum wires is theoretically studied based on the quantum kinetic equation for the phonon population operator. Analytical expressions for the rate of change of the phonon population and conditions for phonon generation are obtained. Numerical results for the speci.c rectangular quantum wires show that the amplitude of the laser .eld must satisfy additional conditions that are dierent in comparison with those of the other works. The dierences between the generation of acoustic phonon and optical phonon are considered.
Determining Ideal Strength and Electronic Properties of Ge/Si Core-Shell Nanowires
Vuong Van Thanh,Nguyen Tuan Hung,Tran The Quang,Do van Truong 한국정밀공학회 2019 한국정밀공학회지 Vol.36 No.8
Core/shell nanowire (NW) is recognized as promising one-dimensional material for nanoelectronic and nanoelectromechanical systems. However, its mechanical properties so important for engineering applications remain largely unexplored. Based on the density functional theory (DFT), we theoretically investigate mechanical and electronic properties of the Ge-core/Si-shell NWs along the [100] direction within the cross sectional size of 1.0 nm and 1.4 nm under the axial strain. Our results show that ideal strength of Ge-core/Si-shell NWs strongly depends on wire cross sectional size compared with that of the Si and Ge NWs. Ideal strength (maximum tensile strength) of Ge-core/Si-shell NWs increases significantly when increasing thickness of the Si-shell. We found that bond lengths around interfaces between the core and the shell play a predominant role in ideal strength of Ge-core/Si-shell NWs. Additionally, band structures of NWs are modififed by applying axial strain. Band gaps of NWs decrease with increasing strain. Our results provide important insight into intrinsic mechanical behavior and electronic properties of Ge-core/Si-shell NWs, useful for the design of nanodevices with Ge-core/Si-shell NWs in future applications.

The aim of this paper was to analyze the determinants of the extent of individual credit rationing at Can Tho Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB). The data was collected from 150 customers according to the systematic random sampling method listed in the bank. This study employed quantitative analysis methods, and Tobit regression model, to test the proposed hypotheses. The results showed that the average loan amount of an individual customer was 1,181.3 million VND, the average credit limit was 48.6%, and the average interest rate was 10.9% per year. Most of the individual customers borrowed money to buy properties. In addition, the analysis results also indicated that individual borrowers still faced some difficulties in accessing bank credit, such as cumbersome procedures, long waiting times, insufficient collateral assets, and loan documents. The results of the Tobit model pointed out that there were five factors affecting the degree of credit rationing to individual customers at the bank, including (1) Collateral, (2) Income, (3) Credit history, (4) Loan purpose, (5) Relationship between borrower and bank. Based on the empirical findings, the possible solutions for the bank and individual borrowers to improve credit efficiency for individual customers at commercial banks are obtained.
The Impact of Access to Cooperatives on Households’ Income: An Empirical Study in Vietnam
Quoc Duy VUONG,Viet Thanh Truc TRAN,Quang Vang DANG,Van Nam MAI 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.12
If one is looking for an organization that will be responsive to community needs, stimulate economic growth, and raise people’s income, cooperatives should be an obvious choice (Calkins & Ngo, 2005; Larocque et al., 2002). This paper investigates whether the households’ income is affected by the access to cooperatives for the case of Phong Dien district, Can Tho city of Vietnam. Data used are directly collected from 250 households that are both participating (120 observations) and not participating in the cooperatives in Truong Long, Tan Thoi, Nhon Ai and Nhon Nghia communes. By using the Probit model, the findings show that there are three statistically significant factors affecting the ability of farm households to participate in the cooperatives at the 1 percent level including land area, distance to market center, and education level. In addition, the PSM model analysis suggests that the average income of cooperative members is significantly higher than that of non-members, about 40.880 million VND/year at the significance level of 1 percent. The empirical results imply that being a cooperative member is a significant contributory factor toward an increase in household income. Based on the research findings, several recommendations to improve the households’ income are proposed.

This study uses first-principles calculations to investigate the mechanical properties and effect of strain on the electronic properties of the 2D material 1H-PbX2 (X: S, Se). Firstly, the stability of the 1H Pb-dichalcogenide structures was evaluated using Born's criteria. The obtained results show that the 1H-PbS2 material possesses the greatest ideal strength of 3.48 N/m, with 3.68 N/m for 1H-PbSe2 in biaxial strain. In addition, 1H-PbS2 and 1H-PbSe2 are direct semiconductors at equilibrium with band gaps of 2.30 eV and 1.90 eV, respectively. The band gap was investigated and remained almost unchanged under the strain εxx but altered significantly at strains εyy and εbia. At the fracture strain in the biaxial direction (19 %), the band gap of 1H-PbS2 decreases about 60 %, and that of 1H-PbSe2 decreases about 50 %. 1H-PbS2 and 1H-PbSe2 can convert from direct to indirect semiconductor under the strain εyy. Our findings reveal that the two structures have significant potential for application in nanoelectronic devices.

In this work, we evaluated the effects of different antibody immobilization strategies on the response of a CeO2-nanowires (NWs)-based immunosensor for V ibrio cholerae O1 detection. Accordingly, the changes in the electron-transfer resistance (Ret) from before to after cells bind to an antibody-modified electrode prepared by using three different methods of antibody immobilization were determined. The values were 16.2%, 8.3%, and 6.65% for the method that utilized protein A, antibodies activated by 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC)/Nhydroxysuccinimide (NHS), and absorption, respectively. Cyclic voltammetry confirmed that the change in the current was highest for the immunosensors prepared using protein A (11%), followed by those prepared with EDC/NHS-activated antibodies (9%), and finally, those prepared through absorption (7.5%). The order of the antibody immobilization strategies in terms of resulting immunosensor detection limit and sensitivity was as follows order: absorption (3.2 × 103 CFU/mL; 45.1 /CFU·mL−1) < EDC/NHS-activated antibody (1.0 × 103 CFU/mL; 50.6 /CFU·mL−1) < protein A (1.0 × 102 CFU/mL; 65.8 /CFU·mL−1). Thus, we confirmed that the protein A - mediated method showed significantly high cell binding efficiencies compared to the random immobilization method.
