      • Modulation of Axial-Ligand Binding and Releasing Processes onto the Triazole-Bearing Nickel(II) Picket-Fence Porphyrins: Steric Repulsion versus Hydrogen-Bonding Effects

        <P><I>N</I>-(<I>p</I>-Methoxycarbonylbenzyl) triazole (BTz) substituents have been introduced to Ni(II) porphyrins (NiPs), in which their modulated axial-coordination processes have been investigated. For this study, the two types of ligands, neutral pyridine versus anionic cyanide, were employed to investigate an effect of BTz substituents. The unique microenvironments given by the BTz substituents provided two different effects on the axial-coordination processes of NiPs on the ground and excited states: (1) steric shielding and (2) donation of hydrogen-bonding sites. The steric shielding diminished the binding affinity of pyridine, while the cooperation of hydrogen bonds extraordinarily strengthened the binding affinity of CN<SUP>–</SUP>. Interestingly, it was observed that the binding of CN<SUP>–</SUP> with the supporting of BTz substituents accompanied nonplanar distortion of NiPs. Such conformational change perturbed the electronic structure of NiPs, which gave rise to the modulation of coordination processes of NiPs in the excited state.         <▼1><P>The switching phenomena of conformation with π-electronic network through deprotonation–protonation processes were investigated by employing a series of 5,20-bis(α-oligothienyl) substituted hexaphyrins(1.1.1.1.1.1).</P></▼1><▼2><P>The switching phenomena of conformation with π-electronic network through deprotonation–protonation processes were investigated by employing a series of 5,20-bis(α-oligothienyl) substituted hexaphyrins(1.1.1.1.1.1). They showed significant changes in the absorption and emission spectra with deprotonation, and returned to the initial state with protonation. Through NMR measurements and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, we found that the 5,20-bis(α-oligothienyl) substituted hexaphyrins, which possess acyclic, helical electronic networks involving oligothienyl chains in dumbbell conformations (type-I) in a neutral form, underwent effective deprotonation upon treatment with tetrabutylammonium fluoride (TBAF) to generate the corresponding dianions, which display cyclic electronic networks with enhanced aromaticity in rectangular conformations (type-II). Our quantum calculation results provide an unambiguous description for the switchable conformation and π-conjugation, which revealed that a deprotonation-induced enhanced aromatic conjugation pathway is involved in the switchable π-electronic network.</P></▼2>

        KTX용 2경간 연속교량의 동적거동 및 공진감소

        본 연구에서는 경부고속철도상의 대표적인 교량인 2경간 연속보 형태의 고속철도 교량에 대하여 동적거동을 해석하고 공진발생의 감소방안을 제시하였다. 하중은 한국형 고속철도하중인 총길이 380.15m의 TGV-K 열차(2P+18T)가 일정한 속도로 이동하는 것으로 하였다. 동적거동을 모사하는 지배방정식은 질량과 강성이 분포된 연속계에서 만들어진 편미분방정식을 이용하여 구하였으며 Duhamel 적분을 이용한 모달계수의 처리를 수반하는 모드중첩법을 이용하여 동적해석을 수행하였다. 열차의 주행속도에 관계없이 동적거동을 급격히 감소시킬 수 있는 지간장이 존재하였으며 지금까지 연구된 단순보 형태의 교량에서 분석된 결과와는 달랐다. 열차의 주행속도에 의존하여 동적응답이 급격히 증가되어 공진현상을 일으키는 경우에도 공진을 감소시킬 수 있는 여러 방안들을 제시하였다. Dynamic behaviors of the two-span continuous bridge which is one of prototypes on Gyoung-Bu high-speed railway are analyzed and some methods for reducing the resonance of the bridge are proposed. The bridge is modeled as a two-span continuous beam and the load is a vehicle of TGV-K (2p+18T) with length of 380.15 meter traveling on the railway bridge at some constant velocity. The equations governing the dynamic behaviors of the bridge are partial differential equations produced by using a system with distributed mass and elasticity. The analysis of the governing equations is performed by the mode superposition method which has modal coordinates solved by Duhamel's integral. Without considering the train velocity the dynamic reponses can be greatly reduced at some special lengths of bridge. It is different from the results of simple bridges researched so far. When the dynamic responses increase rapidly to make a resonance phenomenon depending on the train velocities, the several methods are proposed to deduce the resonance.

In this paper, an artificial neural network training and validation for the same damage as a change of load when using the given input for damage assessment have seen a good looking magazine. Artificial neural networks for learning, and qualified by the same load location and size of the damages it seeks. However, due to load changes regarding the location and size of the damage did not find it.

        An Experimental Study of Resultative Constructions with X-key

        In this article we present experimental evidence supporting the two syntactic hypotheses regarding Korean resultative constructions with X-key proposed in Lee (2016): (i) the resultative predicate, X-key, is syntactically an adverb (not an adjective), and (ii) X-key or the result phrase headed by X-key is a complement of the main verb in a resultative sentence. First, we provide a set of experimental results about resultative constructions with Adj(ective)-key with respect to the two syntactic properties, and then those about resultative constructions with V(erb)-key. In the current study, we conducted the acceptability judgment testing on a comprehensive scale using the 5-point Likert scale task and the binary Yes/No task. 264 university-level students participated in the current experiment (132 for each experimental task). We analyzed the experimental results using the statistical techniques in a quantitative way, including the T-test, ANOVA, and Fisher Yates Exact test. We argue that the experimental results empirically support the adverbial complement analysis of Korean resultative constructions with X-key.

        This paper proposes an efficient motion compensation interpolation and CAVLD (Context - Adaptive Variable Length Decoder) architecture for H.264/AVC Baseline profile Decoder. The proposed interpolation architecture eliminates time irregularly and redundant calculation with merged 6x6 tap filter. The proposed CAVLD architecture adapts two techniques to reduce the computational cycles for valid bits. One is an improved reducing decoding step and the other is to get the valid bits directly by shifting additional shift register. H.264/AVC Baseline profile decoder system with proposed architectures is implemented by 0.18 CMOS library with 200K logic gates.

      • Effective cryopreservation method by controlling the clump size of human embryonic stem cells

        Human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) have the potential for use in regenerative medicine and in the field of basic research. Therefore, effective cryopreservation and storage of hESCs are important for preservation of newly established cell line for various purposes. Despite poor survival and slow recovery after thawing, the conventional slow freezing method is most commonly used for cryopreservation of hESCs due to its simplicity and ease of use for freezing a large number of hESCs appropriate to clinical applications. Here we controlled the clump size (Group Ⅰ; 400~450 ㎛, Group Ⅱ; 800~900 ㎛, and Group Ⅲ; 1500~1700 ㎛) of hESCs at 5 days after plating using a glass pipette during cryopreservation in order to obtain a larger amount of hESCs after thawing. Attachment rates differed significantly (P<0.05) in each of the three groups and the average of attachment rate of GroupⅡ was highest in SNUhES4 and H1. In particular, the attachment rate of Group Ⅱ in SNUhES3 showed a significant improvement with ROCK inhibitor Y-27632. These results indicate that clump size and cell-cell adhesions of GroupⅡ are appropriate for cryopreservation compared to the Group Ⅰ and Group Ⅲ. This method increased cell viability and reduced the recovery time leading to various experiments, and therefore has an advantage for use with hESCs like newly established in particular. We demonstrated that use of this effective cryopreservation method with control of the clump size of hESCs can effectively improve the attachment rate and survival of post-thaw hESCs with and without Y-27632.
