Practical use of computational building information modeling in repairing and maintenance of hospital building- case study

Majid Reza Akhoundan,Kia Khademi,Sam Bahmanoo,Karzan Wakil,Edy Tonnizam Mohamad,Majid Khorami 국제구조공학회 2018 Smart Structures and Systems, An International Jou Vol.22 No.5

Computational Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an intelligent 3D model-based process that provides architecture, engineering, and construction professionals the insight to plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and infrastructure more efficiently. This paper aims at using BIM in Hospitals configurations protection. Infrastructure projects are classified as huge structural projects taking advantage of many resources such as finance, materials, human labor, facilities and time. Immense expenses in infrastructure programs should be allocated to estimating the expected results of these arrangements in domestic economy. Hence, the significance of feasibility studies is inevitable in project construction, in this way the necessity in promoting the strategies and using global contemporary technologies in the process of construction maintenance cannot be neglected. This paper aims at using the building information modeling in covering Imam Khomeini Hospital’s equipment. First, the relationship between hospital constructions maintenance and repairing, using the building information modeling, is demonstrated. Then, using library studies, the effective factors of constructions’ repairing and maintenance were collected. Finally, the possibilities of adding these factors in Revit software, as one of the most applicable software within BIM is investigated and have been identified in some items, where either this software can enter or the software for supporting the repairing and maintenance phase lacks them. The results clearly indicated that the required graphical factors in construction information modeling can be identified and applied successfully.

Identification of Klebsiella pneumoniae Carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella oxytoca in Clinical Isolates in Tehran Hospitals, Iran by Chromogenic Medium and Molecular Methods

Majid Validi,Mohammad Mehdi Soltan Dallal,Masoumeh Douraghi,Jalil Fallah Mehrabadi,Abbas Rahimi Foroushani 질병관리본부 2016 Osong Public Health and Research Persptectives Vol.7 No.5

Objectives: Production of carbapenemase, especially Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemases (KPC), is one of the antibiotic resistance mechanisms of Enterobacteriaceae such as Klebsiella oxytoca. This study aimed to investigate and identify KPC-producing K. oxytoca isolates using molecular and phenotypic methods. Methods: A total of 75 isolates of K. oxytoca were isolated from various clinical samples, and were verified as K. oxytoca after performing standard microbiological tests and using a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method. An antibiotic susceptibility test was performed using a disc diffusion method according to the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines. CHROMagar KPC chromogenic culture media was used to examine and confirm the production of the carbapenemase enzyme in K. oxytoca isolates; in addition, PCR was used to evaluate the presence of blaKPC gene in K. oxytoca strains. Results: Of a total of 75 K. oxytoca isolates, one multidrug resistant strain was isolated from the urine of a hospitalized woman. This strain was examined to assess its ability to produce carbapenemase enzyme; it produced a colony with a blue metallic color on the CHROMagar KPC chromogenic culture media. In addition, the blaKPC gene was confirmed by PCR. After sequencing, it was confirmed and deposited in GenBank. Conclusion: To date, many cases of KPC-producing Enterobacteriaceae, in particular K. pneumoniae, have been reported in different countries; there are also some reports on the identification of KPC-producing K. oxytoca. Therefore, to prevent the outbreak of nosocomial infections, the early detection, control, and prevention of the spread of these strains are of great importance.

      • Creep analysis of plates made of functionally graded Al-SiC material subjected to thermomechanical loading

        Majid Amiri,Abbas Loghman,Mohammad Arefi Techno-Press 2023 Advances in concrete construction Vol.15 No.2

This paper investigates creep analysis of a plate made of Al-SiC functionally graded material using Mendelson's method of successive elastic solution. All mechanical and thermal material properties, except Poisson's ratio, are assumed to be variable along the thickness direction based on the volume fraction of reinforcement and thickness. First, the basic relations of the plate are derived using the Love-Kirchhoff plate theory. The solution of governing equations yields an elastic solution to start creep analysis. The creep behavior is demonstrated through Norton's equation based on Pandey's experimental results extracted for Al-SiC functionally graded material. A linear variation is assumed for temperature distribution along the thickness direction. The creep strain, as well as the thermal strain, are included in the governing equations derived from classical plate theory for mechanical strain. A successive elastic solution based on Mendelson's method is employed to derive the history of stresses, strains, and displacements over a long time. History of stresses and deformations are obtained over a long time to predict damage to the plate because of various loadings, and material composition along the thickness and planar directions.

      • LSTM based Supply Imbalance Detection and Identification in Loaded Three Phase Induction Motors

Majid, Hussain,Fayaz Ahmed, Memon,Umair, Saeed,Babar, Rustum,Kelash, Kanwar,Abdul Rafay, Khatri International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2023 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.23 No.1

Mostly in motor fault detection the instantaneous values 3 axis vibration and 3phase current in time domain are acquired and converted to frequency domain. Vibrations are more useful in diagnosing the mechanical faults and motor current has remained more useful in electrical fault diagnosis. With having some experience and knowledge on the behavior of acquired data the electrical and mechanical faults are diagnosed through signal processing techniques or combine machine learning and signal processing techniques. In this paper, a single-layer LSTM based condition monitoring system is proposed in which the instantaneous values of three phased motor current are firstly acquired in simulated motor in in health and supply imbalance conditions in each of three stator currents. The acquired three phase current in time domain is then used to train a LSTM network, which can identify the type of fault in electrical supply of motor and phase in which the fault has occurred. Experimental results shows that the proposed single layer LSTM algorithm can identify the electrical supply faults and phase of fault with an average accuracy of 88% based on the three phase stator current as raw data without any processing or feature extraction.

Foraging efficiency of Lysiphlebus fabarum Marshall (Hymenoptera: Aphidiidae) parasitizing the black bean aphid, Aphis fabae Scopoli (Hemiptera: Aphididae), under laboratory conditions

        Majid Mahmoudi,Ahad Sahragard,Jalal Jalali Sendi 한국응용곤충학회 2010 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.13 No.2

Foraging efficiency of Lysiphlebus fabarum Marshall, the most abundant and effective parasitoid of the black bean aphid, Aphis fabae Scopoli, in terms of functional and numerical responses and mutual interference, was studied on broad bean plants in a growth chamber at 21 °C, 70±5% RH and a photoperiod of 16:8 (L:D) h. Using logistic regression, a type II functional response was determined for L. fabarum. Nonlinear least-square regression was used to estimate the searching efficiency (a') and handling time (Th). Numerical response of L. fabarum to cumulative host densities was partially linearly increasing. Nicholson's model and linear regression were used to determine the per capita searching efficiency and interference coefficient, respectively. In general, the per capita parasitism and, consequently, the per capita searching efficiency decreased significantly as parasitoid density increased. Mutual interference and quest constants were −0.508 and −0.697, respectively. The results of this study suggest that both the host and parasitoid densities have no significant impact on the progeny sex ratio. The information provided here will be useful in assessing the efficiency of L. fabarum as a biological control agent of A. fabae, devising mass-rearing protocols and implementing release programs for this parasitoid.

Majid Esmaeili,Sohrab Khorshidi,Vahid Vatanpour 한국공업화학회 2022 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.109 No.-

In this research, a contra-diffusion cell, which is an effective instrument for growing inorganic layers onporous substrates, was applied to prepare a thin layer of zeolitic imidazole framework-8 (ZIF-8) onpolyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) ultrafiltration membranes. With using of methanol as a solvent, a thinlayer of ZIF-8 was fabricated resulted in a flexible inorganic coated organic membrane. The ZIF-8nanoparticles were formed as a resistant layer on the outer surface and inner pores of PVDF supportand its effect on permeability, flux recovery ratio (FRR) and treatment of colored wastewater was investigated. Manufacturing parameters such as the reaction time between Zn2+ ions and imidazole ligands(16, 24 and 36 h) and concentration of PVDF in the casting solution of the support membranes (18, 20and 22 wt%) were considered. The SEM images showed the well-growing of uniform and a thin layerof ZIF-8. The membrane performance tests revealed that ZIF-8 decorated membranes have higher purewater flux, BSA protein rejection and FRR related to the uncoated PVDF membrane. The fabricated membranesindicated high removal efficiency in three different MW dyes (Rhodamine B, Reactive Green 19and Direct Black 38), with 75, 85 and 98% rejection, respectively.

Effects of nine weeks L-Carnitine supplementation on exercise performance, anaerobic power, and exercise-induced oxidative stress in resistance-trained males

        Majid S. Koozehchian,Amin Daneshfar,Ebrahim Fallah,Hamid Agha-alinejad,Mohammad Samadi,Mojtaba Kaviani,Maryam Kaveh B,Y. Peter Jung,Mozhgan Hassanzadeh Sablouei,Najmeh Moradi,Conrad P. Earnest,T. Jeff 한국운동영양학회 2018 Physical Activity and Nutrition (Phys Act Nutr) Vol.22 No.4

[Purpose] Studies of L-carnitine in healthy athletic populations have yielded equivocal results. Further scientific-based knowledge is needed to clarify the ability of L-carnitine to improve exercise capacity and expedite the recovery process by reducing oxidative stress. This study aimed to examine the 9-week effects of L-carnitine supplementation on exercise performance, anaerobic capacity, and exercise-induced oxidative stress markers in resistance-trained males. [Methods] In a double-blind, randomized, and placebo-controlled treatment, 23 men (age, 25±2y; weight, 81.2±8.31 kg; body fat, 17.1±5.9%) ingested either a placebo (2 g/d, n=11) or L-carnitine (2 g/d, n=12) for 9 weeks in conjunction with resistance training. Primary outcome measurements were analyzed at baseline and at weeks 3, 6, and 9. Participants underwent a similar resistance training (4 d/w, upper/lower body split) for a 9-week period. Two-way ANOVA with repeated measures was used for statistical analysis. [Results] There were significant increases in bench press lifting volume at wk-6 (146 kg, 95% CI 21.1, 272) and wk-9 (245 kg, 95% CI 127, 362) with L-carnitine. A similar trend was observed for leg press. In the L-carnitine group, at wk-9, there were significant increases in mean power (63.4 W, 95% CI 32.0, 94.8) and peak power (239 W, 95% CI 86.6, 392), reduction in post-exercise blood lactate levels (-1.60 mmol/L, 95% CI -2.44, -0.75) and beneficial changes in total antioxidant capacity (0.18 mmol/L, 95% CI 0.07, 0.28). [Conclusion] L-carnitine supplementation enhances exercise performance while attenuating blood lactate and oxidative stress responses to resistance training.
