Energy efficient chain based routing protocol for orchard wireless sensor network

        Huarui Wu,Huarui Wu,Lihong Zhang,Yuling Song 대한전기학회 2019 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.14 No.5

Wireless sensor network nodes have limited energy, how to employ limited energy efficiently to realize effective data transmission has become a hot topic. Considering the characteristics of orchard planting in rows and shade caused by sparse random features, to improve energy efficiency of the orchard wireless sensor network and prolong network lifetime, we propose an improved chain-based clustering hierarchical routing (ICCHR) algorithm based on LEACH algorithm. The ICCHR algorithm investigates the formation of clusters, cluster head election, chain formation as well as the data transmission process, and further simulated with E-LEACH, PEGASIS-E, LEACH-1R PEGASIS and P-LEACH algorithms through MATLAB. The simulation results show that for BS at (50, 175), from the point of view of all sensor nodes death metric, the network lifetime for ICCHR algorithm prolongs about 3.29, 8.78, 35.53, and 43.11% compared with E-LEACH, PEGASIS-E, LEACH-1R PEGASIS and P-LEACH algorithms. The average energy consumption per round of the ICCHR algorithm is lower than E-LEACH, PEGASIS-E, LEACH-1R PEGASIS and P-LEACH algorithms about 4.73, 9.04, 35.60, and 43.31%. This research can provide theoretical references for the orchard complex environment wireless networking.

Characterization of microbiota of naturally fermented sauerkraut by high-throughput sequencing

        Shuang Zhang,Yichen Zhang,Lihong Wu,Lili Zhang,Song Wang 한국식품과학회 2023 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.32 No.6

Sauerkraut is a traditionally fermented cabbage, with a unique taste and beneficial properties, in northeast China. The taste and flavor of sauerkraut vary from region to region, owing to the differences in microorganisms. Illumina MiSeq sequencing was used to identify and quantify the microbial community composition of the broth and leaves of the naturally fermented Suan-cai collected from northeast China. The alpha and beta diversity of the samples from three areas in Heilongjiang province shown that the complexity of bacterial diversity of the three samples was C, A and B in turn. The Lactobacillus widely existed in fermented sauerkraut, of these, Latilactobacillus sakei, Loigolactobacillus coryniformis subsp. torquens, Lactiplantibacillus plantarum subsp. plantarum, and Secundilactobacillus malefermentans were more abundant in the sauerkraut leaves than in fermentation broth. Other genera of lactic acid bacteria Pediococcus and Leuconostoc, which have potential probiotic properties, were also present. However, some harmful bacteria such as Arcobacter and Acinetobacter were also detected.

Association between hearing loss and physical performance in patients on maintenance hemodialysis

        Fan Weifeng,Zhong Xiaojing,Wu Qing,Zhang Lihong,Yang Zhenhao,Gu Yong,Guo Qi,Chen Xiaoyu,Yu Chen,Zhang Kun,Ding Wei,Qi Hualin,Zhao Junli,Zhang Liming,Zhang Suhua,Niu Jianying 대한신장학회 2024 Kidney Research and Clinical Practice Vol.43 No.3

Background: The correlation between hearing loss (HL) and physical performance in patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) remains poorly investigated. This study explored the association between HL and physical performance in patients on MHD. Methods: This multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted between July 2020 and April 2021 in seven hemodialysis centers in Shanghai and Suzhou, China. The hearing assessment was performed using pure-tone average (PTA). Physical performance was assessed using the Timed Up and Go Test (TUGT), handgrip strength, and gait speed. Results: Finally, 838 adult patients (male, 516 [61.6%]; 61.2 ± 2.6 years) were enrolled. Among them, 423 (50.5%) had mild to profound HL (male, 48.6% and female, 53.4%). Patients with HL had poorer physical performance than patients without HL (p < 0.001). TUGT was positively correlated with PTA (r = 0.265, p < 0.001), while handgrip strength and gait speed were negatively correlated with PTA (r = –0.356, p < 0.001 and r = –0.342, p < 0.001, respectively). Physical performance in patients aged <60 years showed significant dose-response relationships with HL. After adjusting for confounders, the odds ratios (95% confidence intervals) for HL across the TUGT quartiles (lowest to highest) were 1.00 (reference), 1.15 (0.73–1.81), 1.69 (1.07–2.70), and 2.87 (1.69–4.88) (p for trend = 0.005). Conclusion: Lower prevalence of HL was associated with a faster TUGT and a stronger handgrip strength in patients on MHD.

Air Embolism during Upper Endoscopy: A Case Report

        Yin Fang,Junbei Wu,Feng Wang,Lihong Cheng,Yunhong Lu,Xiaofei Cao 대한소화기내시경학회 2019 Clinical Endoscopy Vol.52 No.4

Air embolism is a rare complication of upper endoscopy and potentially causes life-threatening events. A 67-year-old man with ahistory of surgery of cardiac carcinoma and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor underwent painless upper endoscopy because oftarry stools. During the procedure, air embolism developed, which caused decreased pulse oxygen saturation and delayed sedationrecovery. He recovered with some weakness of the left upper limb in the intensive care unit without hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Theetiology, clinical manifestations, and treatments of air embolism are discussed based on the literature reports. Although air embolism isuncommon in endoscopic examinations, the patients’ outcomes could be improved if clinicians are alert to this potential complication, and promptly start proper diagnostic and therapeutic measures.

Interfacial Polyelectrolyte Complexation Spinning of Cellulose Nanofibers/CdTe Quantum Dots for Anti-counterfeiting Fluorescent Textiles

        Shulin Cai,Shuaishuai Hu,Jianming Wu,An Huang,Lihong Geng,Xiangfang Peng 한국섬유공학회 2022 Fibers and polymers Vol.23 No.5

Cellulose-based fluorescent fibers were successfully fabricated by interfacial polyelectrolyte complexation (IPC)spinning, in which thioglycolic acid-modified CdTe quantum dots (QDs) were incorporated. The fibers exhibited differentfluorescent colors depending on different sizes of CdTe QDs. The IPC spinning process based on the progressive selfassemblyof negatively charged cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) and positively charged chitosan endowed the fibers highorientation degree. Together with the superior mechanical property of CNFs and the strong interfacial ionic bond andhydrogen bond interaction between CNFs and chitosan, the fluorescent fibers showed a high tensile strength above 689 MPaand toughness above 25 MJ/m3, which provided a guarantee for weaving the fluorescent fibers into textiles. With excellentoptical and mechanical performance, the resulting fluorescent fibers showed a promising potential as flexible wearable anticounterfeitingdevices, which the hard-to-see tag woven using the fluorescent fibers appeared clearly under 365 nmultraviolet light illumination. This paper would provide a new avenue for the preparation of high-performance environmentfriendlyfluorescent anti-counterfeiting textiles.

Real-time prediction of wave-induced hull girder loads for a large container ship based on the recurrent neural network model and error correction strategy

        Wang Qiang,Yu Pengyao,Lv Mingdong,Wu Xiangcheng,Li Chenfeng,Chang Xin,Wu Lihong 대한조선학회 2024 International Journal of Naval Architecture and Oc Vol.16 No.-

Real-time acquisition of wave-induced hull girder loads of a sailing ship will help the captain make reasonable decisions, which is of great significance for improving the safety of the ship’s navigation. This paper investigates the real-time prediction method of hull girder loads based on the Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) model and error correction strategy. Firstly, taking the vertical bending moment, horizontal bending moment, and torsional moment at the mid-ship position of a large container ship as examples, corresponding neural network prediction models are established through parameter influence analysis. Secondly, various sea state conditions are used to verify the feasibility of established network prediction models to predict the hull girder loads in real-time. The VBM prediction model performs better than the TM prediction model and HBM prediction model, and the errors of the TM prediction model and HBM prediction model are slightly larger in some cases. Lastly, an improved prediction model based on an error correction strategy is proposed to improve the prediction accuracy of the neural network prediction model, and the adequate performance of the error correction strategy is discussed.

      • Cyclooxygenase‐2 prevents fas‐induced liver injury through up‐regulation of epidermal growth factor receptor

        Li, Guiying,Han, Chang,Xu, Lihong,Lim, Kyu,Isse, Kumiko,Wu, Tong Wiley Subscription Services, Inc., A Wiley Company 2009 Hepatology Vol.50 No.3

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Cyclooxygenase‐2 (COX‐2)–derived prostaglandins participate in a number of pathophysiological responses such as inflammation, carcinogenesis, and modulation of cell growth and survival. This study used complementary approaches of COX‐2 transgenic (Tg) and knockout (KO) mouse models to evaluate the mechanism of COX‐2 in Fas‐induced hepatocyte apoptosis and liver failure <I>in vivo</I>. We generated Tg mice with targeted expression of COX‐2 in the liver by using the albumin promoter‐enhancer–driven vector. The COX‐2 Tg, COX‐2 KO, and wild‐type mice were treated with the anti‐Fas antibody Jo2 (0.5 μg/g of body weight) for 4 to 6 hours, and the extent of liver injury was assessed by histopathology, serum aminotransferases, TUNEL staining, and caspase activation. The COX‐2 Tg mice showed resistance to Fas‐induced liver injury in comparison with the wild‐type mice; this was reflected by the lower alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) levels, less liver damage, and less hepatocyte apoptosis (<I>P</I> < 0.01). In contrast, the COX‐2 KO mice showed significantly higher serum ALT and AST levels, more prominent hepatocyte apoptosis, and higher levels of caspase‐8, caspase‐9, and caspase‐3 activity than the wild‐type mice (<I>P</I> < 0.01). The COX‐2 Tg livers expressed higher levels of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) than the wild‐type controls; the COX‐2 KO livers expressed the lowest levels of EGFR. Pretreatment with a COX‐2 inhibitor (NS‐398) or an EGFR inhibitor (AG1478) exacerbated Jo2‐mediated liver injury and hepatocyte apoptosis. <I>Conclusion:</I> These findings demonstrate that COX‐2 prevents Fas‐induced hepatocyte apoptosis and liver failure at least in part through up‐regulation of EGFR. LncSNHG3 promotes hepatocellular carcinoma epithelial mesenchymal transition progression through the miR-152-3p/JAK1 pathway

        Li Hong,Wu Yu,Wang Runmei,Guo Junmei,Yu Qin,Zhang Lihe,Zhao Haiping,Yang Hao 한국유전학회 2022 Genes & Genomics Vol.44 No.1

Background: The dysregulation of LncRNAs is related to the malignant progression of many cancers. Objective: The study aimed to investigate the expression and the biological role of LncSNHG3 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: The TCGA data of the LncSNHG3 in HCC were analyzed. The expression in HCC cell lines was detected by qRT-PCR. Proliferation, migration, and invasion of HepG2 and Huh7 were examined by cell counting kit-8, colony formation, transwell assays, and wound healing assays. At the same time, the interactions among LncSNHG3, miR-152-3p, and JAK1 were confirmed by dual-luciferase reporter assay, RNA immunoprecipitation, subcellular distribution. Xenograft tumor-bearing mice models were used to measure the effect of LncSNHG3 on the growth of HCC in vivo. The apoptosis and epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT)-associated proteins were checked by WB and IHC. Results: LncSNHG3 was overexpressed in HCC tissues and cell lines. In addition, it is correlated with the tumor stage and survival time of HCC patients. Down-regulated LncSNHG3 could significantly suppress the EMT progression of HCC in vivo and in vitro. LncSNHG3 could promote the JAK1 expression by sponging miR-152-3p. Conclusions: LncSNHG3 acted as an oncogene and promoted the EMT procession in HCC by binding miR-152-3p and promoting JAK1 expression. Predictably, LncSNHG3 was used as a potential marker and will be used as a novel therapy target for HCC in the future.
