Competing ski resort were controlled in order to grape the strong and weak points in terms of competing. Multidimensional Scaling system was used to grape the competing structure of ski resort service quality images. This system functions as an important guide in positioning strategies. That is, it gives one an overall view of where one ideal point ski resort located compared to other competing ski resort in the scaling system through the consumers ideal image perception. The results showed that the competing images of Young-pyong, Sung-woo, Bo-Kuang ski resort were relatively high; where as, the competing images of Alpus and Bears town were relatively low. Additionally, the results of analyzing the ideal point of subdivisions indicated that the relative locations of individual ski resort and property directions showed the ideal point of the service property subdivision marketings and ideal properties. Therefore, the following steps should be taken. First, ski resort marketers should take into consideration the customers ideal point changes in their need in his or her own ski resort and those in the competing ski resort. Next, should come up with repositioning strategy for service quality. Finally, an effective communication plan should be drawn from the strategy and marketing mix should be made.
Netrin-1 Specifically Enhances Cell Spreading on Fibronectin in Human Glioblastoma Cells
Lee, Hyun-Kyoung,Seo, In-Ae,Shin, Yoon-Kyung,Lee, Sang-Hwa,Seo, Su-Young,Suh, Duk-Joon,Park, Hwan-Tae The Korean Society of Pharmacology 2008 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology Vol.12 No.5
Netrins are secreted molecules and involved in axon guidance, cell migration and tumor development. Recent studies revealed that netrins perform novel functions in such processes as epithelial development and angiogenesis without operating through the classical netrin receptors, DCC (Deleted in Colorectal Cancer) and Unc5h. In the present study, we investigated the roles of netrin-1 and its receptors in cell spreading of human glioblastoma cells, and found that netrin-1 haptotactically enhanced fibronectin-induced cell spreading and focal adhesion formation in U373 glioblastoma cells. Netrin-1 binding to the U373 cell membrane was blocked by an antibody against ${\alpha}v$ integrin subunit, but not by an anti-DCC or anti-Unc5h antibody. In addition, enhancement of the fibronectin response by netrin-1 was abrogated by a function blocking antibody against integrin ${\alpha}v{\beta}3$. Since the ${\alpha}v$ subunit of the integrin family plays an important role in the pathophysiological aspects of cell migration, including tumor angiogenesis and metastasis, our data provide important insight into the molecular mechanism of netrin function.
Modal Interactions in an Autoparametric Vibration Absorber to Narrow Band Random Excitation
Duk Sang Cho,Chang Ki Mo,Gab Su Ban,Kwang Ho Lee 대한기계학회 2003 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.17 No.1
The main objectives of this study are to examine the random responses of a vibration absorber system with autoparametric coupling in the neighborhood of internal resonance subjected to narrow band random excitation by Gaussian closure scheme and to compare the results with those obtained by Monte Carlo simulation. The Monte Carlo simulation is found to support the main features of the nonlinear modal interaction in the neighborhood of internal resonance conditions. The jump phenomenon of the cantilever mode and saturation phenomenon of the main system are shown to occur if the excitation bandwidth is sufficiently small.<br/>
Dependence of Waterline Mapping on Radar Frequency Used for SAR Images in Intertidal Areas
Duk-jin Kim,Moon, W.M.,Sang-Eun Park,Ji-Eun Kim,Hyo-Sung Lee IEEE 2007 IEEE geoscience and remote sensing letters Vol.4 No.2
<P>Waterline detection in the intertidal areas was investigated through synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images and field measurements. Two valuable facts were found in this letter: 1) A discrepancy of waterlines between L- and P-band airborne SAR images was discovered and investigated through precise global positioning system measurements and the theory of the SAR imaging mechanism. In the intertidal areas having low slopes, the Bragg waves resonant with the radar signal can reside in different depths depending on the radar frequency, with the result that the boundary between water and land can be mapped differently in the respective SAR images. 2) Intertidal areas covered with a water film present low radar backscatter in SAR images, which can cause mislocation of waterlines</P>
