      • Evaluation of Thermal Comfortable Feeling by EEG Analysis

        Thermal comfort by wearing clothes is the important element which gives influence to a clothing comfort. The thermal comfort of clothes have been evaluated by sensory test and physical property of clothes material. To evaluate a thermophysiological comfort. a new evaluation method which measures the physiological response such as electroencephalogram(EEG) is attracting the attention of many people. In the chilly environment, the EEGs in t재 kinds of thermal conditions : with and without clothes were measured. By utilizing the chaos analysis, the behavior of the obtained EEGs were quantiatively expressed in the correlation dimension. As a result, the correlation dimension of the EEGs in being thermal comfortable feeling by putting on clothes, was bigger than the correlation dimension of the EEGs in being cold and discomfort. These results suggest that chaotic analysis of EEG is effective to the quantitative evaluation of thermal esthesis.

        先史時代의 製粉 加工具

        先史時代 東아시아에 있어 農耕問題로서, 기장·조 農耕과 稻作農耕, 보리栽培의 傳播過程의 問題가 있다. 본고에서는 各作物의 傳播過程에 있어 時期的·地域的인 적응 실태를, 對象物 加工에 不可欠한 分離·粉碎具의 視点으로부터 追究했다. 分離·粉碎具는, 對象物의 效率的인 加工法 發展이나 經濟基盤을 背景으로 했던 文化的인 차이에 따라서 地域的 時期的 差異가 想定된다. 따라서 조·기장 農耕文化의 磨盤 磨棒과 堅果類 採集文化한 磨石台石을 對象으로 그 形態的 變化를 比較 檢討했다. 그 結果 分離·粉碎具에는, 3개의 時期的인 段階가 보여 지고, 韓半島를 南下하면서 따라 磨盤·磨棒의 規範이 붕괴되는 現象이 보여 진다. 또 沿岸·內陸에서의 受容差異이 있고, 沿岸의 現象는 北部九州 沿案과의 共通性이 간취된다. 게다가 稻作文化의 浸透程度에 따라서 石製·分離 製粉貝의 分布가 다르고, 稻作에 수반하는 木製品의 유입에 따라, 質的 轉換이 일어났던 것으로 생각된다. This paper investigates the variety of adaptation strategies to various environmental zones adopted in the process of agricultural diffusion in East Asia by focusing on regional variations in separating and grounding technology in processing millet and wheat. For the purpose of comparison grounding stones used for processing hard-skinned nuts are also examined. As a result, the separating and grounding tools had the three a phenomenon as follows. 1 The process of the diffusion of the cultivation of millet and wheat can be divided into three stages, and the form of the milling tools was transformed as the wave of the diffusion advanced southward in the Korean peninsula. 2 The timing and mode of the introduction of millet and wheat processing technology differed betweenthe coastal and theinland areas of the peninsula. That of the coastal regions had significant affinity with the coastal areas of the Northern Kyusyu region of Japan. 3 The techno-complcx relating to millet and wheat cultivation and their use appears to have been modified as the rice cultivation-related techno-complex was introduced, and the timing and mode of the modification differed between regions.

      • Training English Phoneme Discrimination Ability

        This study focuses on a possible English Phoneme Discrimination Ability input and output training method for learners of English as a foreign language that can be developed and practiced very easily. First of all, the input training was practiced with sixteen Japanese monolingual students of age six to eleven. And two approaches of evaluations followed; which are i) multiple choice listening test and ii) brain wave recording. By this, the training development strategy had proved to be compatible and so further output training had been studied. The training aim and method had been studied and focused over three surveys; i) English phoneme discrimination test, ii) comparative study on English listening test and reading lap time, iii) brain wave recording. Training had followed with thirty-six Japanese monolingual students of age eighteen to nineteen. As a result, 72% of the students had felt that they accomplished the task of discriminating the English Phoneme of the words, and most of all, enjoyed the training very much.

      • EFFECT ON BRAIN ACTIVITY OF CLOTHING PRESSURE BY WAIST BELTS -Effect of Visual Information and Sexual Specificity of Brain Activity-

        The purpose of our study is to clarify about the influence that the visual information gives to the brain activities when pressure exerted the abdomen by waist belts. The visual information means that the some different visual information is inputted it, and the brain activity is evaluated by Electroencephalogram(EEG) measurements. At the same time, we carried out the sensory tests and verified about the relations between the psychological stress and the brain activities. There was a difference in change in the power of the α wave with the eyes opened between man and woman. From the result of the sensory test, in the case of under the condition in the darkness with the eyes opened, there was no change in the a wave with before the pressure and after the pressure. In the other cases, α wave changed in the same way with before the pressure and after the pressure. In the case of the visible and the invisible in pressure place, α wave changed in the same way with before the pressure and after the pressure, but there was a difference in value. From the above, it isn``t recognized that the visual information is influencing a pressure sense but some influences are given to it to the brain activities.

        Interactive Questionnaire for Education through Web Media

        The use of media in English language education has become widespread in the past couple of decades. The teaching materials available have a wide variation utilizing all broadcast media. Information which used to be collected from radio, newspaper, TV and books, also seems to be shifting to Internet information. Now, we are challenged to use the cloud and network in the latest media usage for teaching. In this paper, we aim to introduce a user friendly application, Google form in order to practice in various education contexts. The study is based on practical usage of this application but will also suggest usage by "script writing" for wider individual use. This paper introduces the basic steps and system of Google form use, and will elaborate the procedures in detail. As a branch test, we showed a structured questionnaire example. The items that can be used for this form are limited in use, but it can be customized by additional 'script usage.' However, too much customization can result in the application losing its user friendliness application. Therefore, this paper will suggest "script" examples that can be used very easily.

      • Hydrophobicity and non-thrombogenicity of nanoscale dual rough surface coated with fluorine-incorporated diamond-like carbon films: Biomimetic surface for blood-contacting medical devices

        We investigated the hydrophobicity and non-thrombogenicity of a nanoscale dual rough surface coated with hydrophobic and non-thrombogenic fluorine-incorporated diamond-like carbon (F-DLC) films. We prepared Si (1 0 0) and a dual rough surface composed of coarse posts and nano-sized fine posts as substrates. DLC film was deposited on the Si substrate, and F-DLC film was deposited on Si or the dual rough surface using radio frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition method. The surface hydrophobicity of each sample was examined with water contact angle measurements and the non-thrombogenicity was evaluated through incubation with platelet-rich plasma isolated from human whole blood. The water repellency was dramatically improved on the F-DLC-coated dual rough surface compared with that on DLC-coated Si or F-DLC-coated Si, which had a water contact angle of 130.6<SUP>o</SUP>. There was no significant difference in the values for the platelet-covered area between DLC-coated Si and the F-DLC-coated dual rough surface. As DLC is being considered for widespread clinical use as a surface coating for medical devices owing to its non-thrombogenicity compared with other biomaterials, the F-DLC-coated dual rough surface presented in this study still has the potential for clinical use, such as temporary blood-contacting medical devices, to take advantage of its high hydrophobicity.

      • Active Tactual Motion of Fingertips in FUUAI Evaluation Of Textile Fabrics

        Human uses sight, tactile sense to evaluate Total Hand Value(FUUAI) of textile fabrics. Tactile sense is important factor which decided the Total Hand Value of a textile fabric. When human feels the FUUAI, physical and physiological phenomena are occurred in finger. We first found out physical variable that is happened in fingertip when human is feeling the FUUAI. Such physical variable means characteristic of action tactual motion of finger such as moving range, tactile time, moved distance, speed of finger and applied force by finger. We study the relationship between action tactual motion and the ability in which the human distinguishes the textile fabric. As a result, we could know the characteristics of the tactual motion of fingertip to get high distinguishable ability. The characteristics were different in men and women respectively. In the case of man, touched time and moving range influenced to distinguish, and moving range, and the moving speed of finger influenced, in woman``s case.
