        We discuss the theory of motion estimation and motion compensation. The proposed algorithm uses more information from the input video image sequence than the traditional two-frame pel-recursive algorithms. And it uses fewer assumptions on the motion vectors among different video frame pairs. This paper shows two three-frame pel-recursive algorithm for predictive motion compensation which can estimate the d₁(from the previous frame f_t-1 to current frame, f_t) and d₂(from the frame before the previous frame f_t-2 to the previous frame, f_t-1) simultaneously, and three frame information to update the motion vector d₁when the past motion vector d₂is available.

      • 한국과 일본 고등학생의 학교 스트레스 비교 분석 : Focusing on School Students in Korea and Japan

        Recently, a wide variety of maladaptation, such as school refusal or mental disorder, has remarkably increased in high school students in Korea and Japan. The increase of stressful events which students experience in their school life is regarded as one of the causes of this phenomenon. The previous study which attempted to clarify the school stress process(Shimada et al., 1993, 1995, 1996) developed the school stress(Emotional Response, Psychological Response, School Maladjustment, Irrational Beliefs Scale) scales for high school students to assess both the frequency and the averseness of events which students encounter in their daily school life. 659 Korean and 211 Japanese high school students completed the stress process scale. The main results were as follows. (a) Korean students evaluated the Emotional Response Scale at a higher level than Japanese did. (b) Korean students evaluated all the Psychological Response Scales at a higher level than Japanese did. (c) Japanese student evaluated School Maladjustment scales (study evaluation, club activities evaluation) at a higher than Koreans did. But at the school evaluation scale is the response diametrically opposed. (d) Korean students evaluated all the Irrational Beliefs Scales than Japanese did. In summary, Korean students felt the events in high school were more stressful than Japanese did.

      • Evaluation of the seismic earth pressure for inverted T-shape stiff retaining wall in cohesionless soils via dynamic centrifuge

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In the design procedure of a retaining wall, the pseudo-static method has been extensively used and the dynamic earth pressure has been calculated based on force equilibrium using the Mononobe–Okabe method that is an extension of the Coulomb's earth pressure theory. According to the Mononobe–Okabe method, the resultant total dynamic thrust would act at a height of 0.33H. The Seed and Whitman method that is a modification of the Mononobe–Okabe method, suggests that the dynamic thrust would be applied at 0.6H above the base. There is no clear empirical basis for the distribution of the dynamic earth pressure, and recent experimental research studies have shown that the dynamic earth pressure has a triangular shape, and that the dynamic thrust is applied at 0.33H above the base. Moreover, pseudo-static methods do not consider the effects of the inertial force of the wall itself on the structural behavior. Two dynamic centrifuge tests were designed and conducted to evaluate the magnitude and distribution of the dynamic earth pressure and the inertial effect of the wall itself on an inverted, T-shape, stiff retaining wall with a dry medium sand backfill. Results from two sets of dynamic centrifuge experiments show that the dynamic earth pressure has a triangular shape for critical states during the earthquake, and that the inertial force of the wall significantly influences the structural moment. Moreover, the deformation pattern, the rigidity of the retaining wall, and the frequency contents of the input motions cause the phase difference between the wall and the soil. Correspondingly, this phase difference influences the dynamic earth pressure.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Distribution of dynamic earth pressures measured by transducers is triangle shape. </LI> <LI> Phase difference depend on deformation, wall rigidity and frequency of input. </LI> <LI> Phase difference between wall and soil influence the dynamic earth pressure. </LI> <LI> Inertial force of the wall should be accounted for when designing cantilever wall. </LI> <LI> Mononobe–Okabe method is an upper bound for coefficient of dynamic earth pressure. </LI> </UL> </P>

        Sterilization effect and fatty acid composition of silkworm powder (Bombyx mori L.) by heat treatment

        The effect of heat treatment on the sterilization and fatty acid compositions of silkworm powder was carried out under the guidance of Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. Food borne pathogens or microorganisms including E. coli, Salmonella spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococus aureus, Clostridium perfringens and aflatoxin, were not detected. The fatty acid composition was hardly changed after the silkworm powder was treated to a high temperature of $121^{\circ}C$. The low temperature sterilization of silkworm powder at $63^{\circ}C$ decreased the concentration of E. coli while high temperature sterilization at $121^{\circ}C$ has found no traces of microorganism.

        최근 자바카드 기술이 기존의 스마트카드 기술의 문제점들을 해결할 수 있는 새로운 대안으로 등장하고 있고, 카드 소유자의 사용자 인증은 자바카드의 활용을 위해 필수적인 부분이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 스마트카드 상에서 자바카드 실행 환경을 위한 바이오메트릭 API의 구현을 통해 사용자 인증 시스템 구축 방법에 관하여 기술하였다. 본 논문은 먼저 자바카드에 관한 기술 동향 및 분석 등을 기술하였고, 자바카드 바이오메트릭 API에 관하여 설명하였다. 또한, 구현된 바이오메트릭 API를 사용하여 기존의 스마트카드에서 사용되었던 다양한 인증 수단 외에 다양한 생체 정보들을 이용하여 사용자 인증을 제공할 수 있도록 하였다.

      • 댐 내진설계기준 개정 및 내진성능평가 고도화

        2016년 경주지진(M5.8), 2017년 포항지진(M5.4)이 연이어 발생하면서 지진에 대한 국민들의 관심이 높아졌다. 특히 댐, 교량 등과 같은 SOC 시설물의 경우 내진설계 및 성능평가의 중요성이 더욱 대두되고 있는 실정이다. 소방방재청(현행정안전부)은 2017년 「지진·화산재해대책법」 및 동법 시행령에 따른 ‘시설별 내진설계기준’의 일관성유지를 위하여 「내진설계기준 공통적용사항」을 제정하였고 이에 따라 2018년 각 시설물의 내진설계기준을 개정하도록 하였다. 이로 인하여 댐내진설계기준(KDS 54 17 00)이 2019년 개정되었으며, 개정사항에 따라 댐의 내진성능평가에 얼마나 영향을 미치는지 확인하기 위해 일반적인 댐에 대하여 내진성능평가를 수행하였다. 약 45m 높이의 댐에 대하여 기존 Newmark 변위법으로 수행한 내진성능평가 결과와 금번 개정된 내진설계기준에 의한 성능평가 결과를 비교한 결과 Newmark 변위법은 지진파 선정에 따라 결과에 큰 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 내진설계기준 개정(표준설계응답스펙트럼)에 따른 댐체의 지진시 침하량 변화는 미비한 것으로 나타났으며 4,800년 재현주기에 따른 침하량 증가는 급격히 증가하는 것으로 평가되었다. 이번 댐내진설계기준 개정은 동역학적 설계방법이 기존 ‘보조적 수단’에서 정식 ‘설계방법’으로 채택되어 설계방법을 다변화 하였으나 기존 Newmark 방법을 기본으로 선택하여 동적소성해석법을 활성화 하는데에는 한계가 있다. 또한, 동역학적 설계방법이 정식으로 채택됨에 따라 내진성능평가시 정역학적 해석법 보다는 보다 고도화된 동역학적 해석법을 활용한 성능평가절차가 마련되는 것이 필요하다. 기존 내진성능평가절차에서는 진도법으로 성능평가를 수행한 결과가 기준안전율 미달 시 동역학적 해석법으로 안전이 확인되었을 때 시설물의 등급을 한단계 향상시켰으나 동역학적 설계방법으로 내진성능평가를 수행하도록 하여 동적소성해석법을 화성화할 필요가 있다.

        B-type Natriuretic Peptide 수치와 이완기 심초음파 파라미터와의 연관성 연구

        The b-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) values and increase on functional disorder in the ventricle, and are used as an index to diagnose heart failure and predict the prognosis. BNP values is known to be relevant to dyssystole in congestive heart failure. This study aimed to identify correlation between the BNP values and the items that indicate the diastolic function in echocardiography. The research divided 188 patients who went through the BNP test and echocardiography in the hospital into the groups with the BNP values; <100, 100-300, 301-600, 601-900, and >901 pg/mL. As the BNP values increase, there was relevance with the echocardiography items of ejection fraction, size of left atrium, E velocity, A velocity, Deceleration time, E/A ratio, E`, A`, S` and E/E`. In comparison on the groups divided based on the BNP values, E/E` had the highest relevance. The research also categorized 67 patients who diagnosed with heart failure. In comparison on the groups of the heart failure patients, the BNP values of the three groups of Grade I: 623.0±459.7 pg/mL, Grade II: 1013.2±1155.1 pg/mL and Grade III: 1693.4±1544.0 pg/mL, respectively (p< 0.01). As the grade was higher, there was a higher relevance with the echocardiography items of ejection fraction, size of left atrium, E velocity, A velocity, Deceleration time, E/A ratio, E`, A`, S` and E/E` (p<0.001). Higher BNP values had a higher relevance with the items that indicate the diastolic function in echocardiography and the BNP values of the Restrictive physiology group were the highest in echocardiography. So the BNP values was thought to be valuable to predict diastolic function of heart.
