        Intragranular and Intergranular Crack Propagation in Nanocrystalline Ni Under Single-Cycle Mode I Loading

        As the first step to study the fatigue crack propagation, the molecular simulations were performed to investigate theopening, propagation and closure behaviors of intragranular and intergranular cracks in nanocrystalline Ni under single-cyclemode I loading. The atomic crack angle was proposed to characterize the crack-tip blunting and sharpening quantitatively. There are obvious different mechanisms between intragranular and intergranular crack propagation. Intragranular crack propagationcould be induced by stacking faults and can change its direction very easily, but the intergranular crack perpendicularto the loading direction would propagate along the grain boundary and encounter strong resistance at the triple junction. New cracks could form in the grain boundaries ahead of the original crack. Different from the traditional understanding forintragranular and intergranular cracks, however, the dislocation density increases even in the unloading process and the cracktip is possibly sharpened temporarily during loading.

      • Potential Predictors of Sensitivity to Pemetrexed as First-line Chemotherapy for Patients with Advanced Non-Squamous NSCLCs

        Background: Pemetrexed (PEM) is effective in first-line treatment for patients with non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However there are currently no definitive determinants to certify which patients could benefit from PEM. To improve the efficacy of PEM combined with platinum as first-line therapy for advanced non-squamous NSCLC, we conducted this retrospective study to detect potential determinants of this regimen. Methods: We recruited 109 patients with advanced non-squamous NSCLC who received PEM with a platinum as first-line therapy from June 2006 to February 2013 in Jiangsu Cancer Hospital. Multiple variables (age, sex, smoking, degree of cell differentiation, hemoglobin, platinum drugs combined, positions of metastasis) were selected. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyse relationships between these variables and tumor response. Result: In univariate analysis, we found that age and platinum significantly influenced the results of PEM therapy (P<0.05). In multivariable analysis, no factors were independently significant. Conclusion: Our analysis did not suggest that the age, sex, metastasis of liver or other organs, hemoglobin, smoking history and pathological differentiation are associated with the response of PEM. We should conduct further analyses with larger sample size to reconfirm this issue.

      • Phase II Study on Javanica Oil Emulsion Injection (Yadanzi<sup>®</sup>) Combined with Chemotherapy in Treating Patients with Advanced Lung Adenocarcinoma

        Purpose: To investigate the efficacy and safety of Javanica oil emulsion injection (Yadanzi$^{(R)}$) combined with pemetrexed and platinum (PP) for treating patients with advanced lung cancer. Patients and Methods: From June 2011 to June 2013, we recruited 58 patients with advanced lung cancer, and divided them into two groups. Twenty eight patients received Yadanzi$^{(R)}$ (from ZheJiang Jiuxu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) together with PP chemotherapy (combined group), while the others were given only PP chemotherapy (control group). After two cycles of treatment, efficacy and safety of treatment were evaluated. Results: The overall respnse rate [(CR+PR+SD)/(CR+PR+SD+PD)] of the combined group was higher than that of control group (89.7% vs. 86.2%, p>0.05). Regarding rate of life improvement, it was 82.8% in combined group, and 51.7% in the control group (p<0.05). In terms of side effects, leukopenia in combined group was less frequent than that in control group (p<0.05). More patients in the control group were found to suffer liver toxicity. Conclusions: Javanica oil emulsion injection combined with chemotherapy could be considered as a safe and effective regimen in treating patients with advanced lung adenocarcinoma. It can improve the quality of life and reduce the possibility of leukopenia. Further clinical trials with a large sample size should be conducted to confirm whether addition of Yadanzi$^{(R)}$ to chemotherapy could increase the response rate, reduce toxicity, enhance tolerability and improve quality of life for patients with advanced lung cancer.

      • Clinical Observations on Associations Between the UGT1A1 Genotype and Severe Toxicity of Irinotecan

        Background: Severe toxicity is commonly observed in cancer patients receiving irinotecan (CPT-11) UDPglucuronosyltransferase1A1 (UGT1A1) catalyzes the glucuronidation of the active metabolite SN-38 but the relationship between UGT1A1 and severe toxicity remains unclear. Our study aimed to assess this point to guide clinical use of CPT-11. Materials and Methods: 89 cancer patients with advanced disease received CPT-11-based chemotherapy for at least two cycles. Toxicity, including GI and hematologic toxicity was recorded in detail and UGT1A1 variants were genotyped. Regression analysis was used to analyse relationships between these variables and tumor response. Results: The prevalence of grade III-IV diarrhea was 10.1%, this being more common in patients with the TA 6/7 genotype (5 of 22 patients, 22.7%) (p<0.05). The prevalence of grade III-IV neutropenia was 13.4%and also highest in patients with the TA 6/7 genotype (4 of 22 patients; 18.2%) but without significance (p>0.05). The retreatment total bilirubin levels were significantly higher in TA6/7 patients (mean, $12.75{\mu}mol/L$) with compared to TA6/6 (mean, $9.92{\mu}mol/L$) with p<0.05. Conclusions: Our study support the conclusion that patients with a $UGT1A1^*28$ allele (s) will suffer an increased risk of severe irinotecan-induced diarrhea, whether with mid-or low-dosage. However, the $UGT1A1^*28$ allele (s) did not increase severe neutropenia. Higher serum total bilirubin is an indication that patients UGT1A1 genotype is not wild-type, with significance for clinic usage of CPT-11.

        A receding contact analysis for an elastic layer reinforced with a functionally graded coating and pressed against a half-plane

        We aim to analyze the receding contact mechanics of an elastic layer reinforced by a functionally graded coating, pressed against a half-plane substrate as an integral assembly. The graded reinforcement is modeled by an inhomogeneous medium whose shear modulus is allowed to vary exponentially. A smooth receding contact is arisen due to the normal tractions applied over a finite segment of the reinforcement surface. The primary goal of this study is the determination of both the receding contact pressure and the extent of receding contact along the assembly and substrate interface. Using both an analytical and a finite element method solves the problem. In the former approach, Fourier integral transforms help convert the problem into a singular integral equation of Cauchy type, which is numerically integrated with Gauss-Chebyshev quadrature. In the numerical approach, multiple homogeneous layers approximate the graded coating. The stresses at those nodes lying on sublayer interfaces are averaged over their surrounding elements for guaranteeing the continuity in stress field. Very good agreements are found between the results obtained from the two methods. Extensive parametric case studies reveal that material properties, loading configuration, and geometric parameters all play important roles in the determination of both the contact pressure distribution and the length of contact. These receding contact properties can therefore be optimized as desired by appropriately varying the influential parameters. Both the solution methodologies and the numerical results presented in this work can provide some useful guidelines on the better design of multilayered functionally graded structures.

        본 연구는 중국여성소비자들의 소비행동을 이해하고자 브랜드격정적 소비(BPC)에 대해 연구한다. 연구는 쾌락과 실용적 혜택이 긍정적 혹은 부정적 소비 감성으로 연결된다는 것과, 그리고 중국여성 소비자들의 브랜드격정적 소비를 발생시키는 것을 파악하였다. 선행연구를 보완하기 위해, 본 연구는 중국여성소비자들이 선호하는 브랜드에 대한 브랜드격정적 소비의 모든 과정을 포함하여 검토하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 연구는 실증적 연구를 통하여 약간의 공헌을 하고 있다. 학술적으로, 본 연구는 BPC프로세스를 설명하기 위한 확고한 이론적 틀과 함께 여성소비지들의 BPC연구를 제공한다. 둘째, 본 연구에서는 각 영역에 속한 변수의 효과에 대해 비교한다. 셋째, 본 연구는 이전의 연구에 비해서 기업의 경영자들에게 중국여성소비자들에 대한 좀 더 완전한 정보를 제공한다. 넷째, 본 연구의 결과는 브랜드격정적 소비가 충동적 구매와 다르다는 것을 알 수 있게 해준다. 마지막으로, 본 연구의 결과는 마케터와 디자아너들에게 의미 있는 함축적 의미를 제공해준다. 이러한 연구결과는 BPC을 형성하기 위한 소비감성의 중요성을 나타내고 있다. This article researched brand passionate consumption (BPC) for under standing Chinese female consumer`s behavior, the study revealed that hedonic/utilitarian benefits lead 10 positive or negative consumption emotions, and then generate brand passionate consumption on Chinese female consumers. To address the voids of previous research, this research aims to examine Chinese female consumers BPC process toward a consumer beloved apparel brand, incorporating the antecedents and a consequence of the process. This research makes several contributions through empirical study. Academically, the study provides female consumers BPC research with a stronger theoretical framework to explain the BPC process. Second, this study compares effect of dimensions of variable to each other. Third, finding of this Study provides firm managers with more definitive information on Chinese female consumers than previous studies have. Fourth, finding of this study provides BPC difference with impulsive purchase. Finally, the findings of this study provide meaningful implications for marketers and designers. This finding indicates the importance of consumption emotions for forming BPC.

        A SM2 Elliptic Curve Threshold Signature Scheme without a Trusted Center

        Threshold signature is very important in identity authentication and some other applications. In December 2010, Chinese Encryption Administration released the SM2 elliptic curve digital signature algorithm as the first standard of the digital signature algorithm in China. At present, the papers on the threshold signature scheme based on this algorithm are few. A SM2 elliptic curve threshold signature scheme without a trusted center is proposed according to the Joint-Shamir-RSS algorithm, the Joint-Shamir-ZSS algorithm, the sum or diff-SS algorithm, the Mul-SS algorithm, the Inv-SS algorithm and the PM-SS algorithm. The proposed scheme is analyzed from correctness, security and efficiency. The correctness analysis shows that the proposed scheme can realize the effective threshold signature. The security analysis shows that the proposed scheme can resist some kinds of common attacks. The efficiency analysis shows that if the same secret sharing algorithms are used to design the threshold signature schemes, the SM2 elliptic curve threshold signature scheme will be more efficient than the threshold signature scheme based on ECDSA.

        Adaptive Bipartite Output Containment Control of Heterogeneous Multi-agent Systems Based on Output Regulation Approach

        In this paper, the adaptive bipartite output containment problem is investigated, for a signed graph of heterogeneous multi-agent systems (HMASs). An adaptive state feedback algorithm and an output feedback algorithm are designed to ensure that cooperative and antagonistic agents enter different convex hull. A novel protocol is proposed for heterogeneous systems to deal with the bipartite output containment problem, where only the leader’s neighbours can learn the leader’s system matrix without all followers. Then, based on output regulation approach, Lyapunov stability analysis and some other methods guarantee that the bipartite output containment control problem is implemented. Finally, the validity of our analytical results is verified by the numerical simulations provided.

        Motion behavior research of liquid micro-particles filtration at various locations in a rotational flow field

        This study presents a particle-wall filtration model for predicting the particle motion behavior in a typical rotational flow field-filtration in blower system of cooker hood. Based on computational fluid dynamics model, air flow and particles has been simulated by Lagrangian-particle/ Eulerian-gas approaches and get verified by experiment data from a manufacturer. Airflow volume, particle diameter and local structure, which are related to the particle filtration has been studied. Results indicates that: (1) there exists an optimal airflow volume of 1243 m3/h related to the most appropriate filtration rate; (2) Diameter of particle is the significant property related to the filtration rate. Big size particles can represent the filtration performance of blower; (3) More than 86% grease particles are caught by impeller blades firstly, and then splashed onto the corresponding location of worm box internal wall. These results would help to study the micro-particle motion behavior and evaluate the filtration rate and structure design of blower.
