        학급차원의 확장된 스킬스트리밍 교수가 정서·행동장애 위험 유아의 사회성 기술, 문제행동, 일반유아와의 상호작용에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of class-wide implementation of enhanced skillstreaming on social skill, problem behaviors, and interactions with peers in young children at risk for emotional and behavioral disorders. The participants of the study were 24 children at risk for emotional and behavioral disorders who were attending 4 daycare facilities located in Seoul, Incheon, and Chungnam. Because the enhanced skillstreaming was conducted in class-wide format, the teachers of the participants and their peers also participated in the intervention. It took about 7 months to conduct this experiment including intervention preparation, pretest, intervention, posttest. Using pretest-posttest control group design, two independent t-tests were used to see if there was any difference between two groups in the dependent variables. As a result, significant differences were found between groups in social skill, problem behavior, and interaction with peers. Finally, discussions of the results, limitations of the study, and implications for future studies were suggested. Key Words : Skillstreaming, Young Children at Risk for Emotional and Behavioral Disorder, Social Skill, Problem Behaviors, Interaction. 본 연구에서는 확장된 스킬스트리밍(skillstreaming) 교수를 학급차원으로 적용하고, 이것이 각 학급에 통합된 정서·행동장애 위험 유아의 사회성 기술, 문제행동, 일반유아와의 상호작용에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 대상은 서울, 인천, 충남 지역에 위치한 4개 어린이집에 재원 중인 24명의 정서·행동장애 위험 유아로, 실험집단과 통제집단에 각각 12명씩을 배치하였다. 실험은 중재 준비, 사전검사, 중재, 사후검사의 순으로 7개월에 걸쳐 진행되었으며, 실험집단 유아가 속한 학급에는 스킬스트리밍 교수의 4가지 전략단계 및 9가지 실행단계를 충실하게 적용하는 동시에 연구자가 개발한 토막만화형식의 상황이야기 적용, 대집단과 소집단, 다시 대집단으로 이루어진 확장된 스킬스트리밍 교수가 제공되었다. 중재의 효과를 알아보기 위해 한국 유아 사회성 기술 검사, 유아행동 평가 척도, 또래 놀이행동 척도를 이용한 중재 전과 중재 후의 측정 결과에 대해 두 독립표본 t 검정을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 모든 종속변인에서 실험집단의 변화정도가 통제집단의 변화정도보다 유의하게 큰 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 연구결과에 대한 논의, 연구의 제한점, 후속연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

      • In vitro activity of deferoxamine against Porphyromonas gingivalis.

        <P>Deferoxamine (DFO), an FDA-approved iron chelator used for treatment of iron poisoning, affects bacteria as iron availability is intimately connected with growth and several virulence determinants. However, little is known about the effect on oral pathogens. In this study, the effect of DFO on Porphyromonas gingivalis, a major periodontopathogen which has an essential growth requirement for hemin (Fe(3+)-protoporphyrin IX), was evaluated. The viability of P. gingivalis W83 was not affected by 0.06-0.24 mM DFO, whereas the doubling time of the bacterium was considerably prolonged by DFO. The inhibitory effect was evident at earlier stages of growth and reduced by supplemental iron. UV-visible spectra using the pigments from P. gingivalis cells grown on blood agar showed that DFO inhibited μ-oxo bisheme formation by the bacterium. DFO decreased accumulation and energy-driven uptake of hemin by P. gingivalis. Antibacterial effect of H(2)O(2) and metronidazole against P. gingivalis increased in the presence of DFO. Collectively, DFO is effective for hemin deprivation in P. gingivalis suppressing the growth and increasing the susceptibility of the bacterium to other antimicrobial agents such as H(2)O(2) and metronidazole. Further experiments are necessary to show that DFO may be used as a therapeutic agent for periodontal disease.</P>

      • Genome sequence of <i>Prevotella intermedia</i> SUNY aB G8-9K-3, a biofilm forming strain with drug-resistance

        <P><I>Prevotella intermedia</I> has long been known to be as the principal etiologic agent of periodontal diseases and associated with various systemic diseases. Previous studies showed that the intra-species difference exists in capacity of biofilm formation, antibiotic resistance, and serological reaction among <I>P. intermedia</I> strains. Here we report the genome sequence of <I>P. intermedia</I> SUNY aB G8-9K-3 (designated ATCC49046) that displays a relatively high antimicrobial resistant and biofilm-forming capacity. Genome sequencing information provides important clues in understanding the genetic bases of phenotypic differences among <I>P. intermedia</I> strains.</P>

        Probing the diversity of healthy oral microbiome with bioinformatics approaches

        The human oral cavity contains a highly personalized microbiome essential to maintaining health, but capable of causing oral and systemic diseases. Thus, an in-depth definition of “healthy oral microbiome” is critical to understanding variations in disease states from preclinical conditions, and disease onset through progressive states of disease. With rapid advances in DNA sequencing and analytical technologies, population-based studies have documented the range and diversity of both taxonomic compositions and functional potentials observed in the oral microbiome in healthy individuals. Besides factors specific to the host, such as age and race/ethnicity, environmental factors also appear to contribute to the variability of the healthy oral microbiome. Here, we review bioinformatic techniques for metagenomic datasets, including their strengths and limitations. In addition, we summarize the interpersonal and intrapersonal diversity of the oral microbiome, taking into consideration the recent large-scale and longitudinal studies, including the Human Microbiome Project.       • Genotype analysis of <i>Porphyromonas gingivalis fimA</i> in Korean adults using new primers

        <P>Strains of <I>Porphyromonas gingivalis</I>, a periodontopathic bacterium, are classified into six genotypic variants based on nucleotide sequence differences in the <I>fimA</I> gene encoding FimA. A PCR assay using primer sets specific for each genotype has demonstrated that the most predominant <I>fimA</I> genotype in periodontitis patients is type II, which is now commonly referred to as the periodontitis-associated <I>fimA</I> genotype of <I>P. gingivalis</I>. However, the potential for false type II <I>fimA</I> positives caused by cross-hybridization of type II <I>fimA</I>-specific primers with type Ib <I>fimA</I> has complicated the genotyping. A previous study developed new primers that specifically amplified only the DNA fragment of type II <I>fimA</I>. The aim of the present study was to assess the prevalence of <I>P. gingivalis fimA</I> genotypes in Korean adults and to reconfirm the relationship between type II <I>fimA</I> and periodontitis using the new primers. Among 412 Korean adults, <I>P. gingivalis</I> was detected in 97.5 % of patients and 57.8 % of healthy subjects. Type II <I>fimA</I> was the most widely distributed type among healthy and periodontitis subjects. Organisms with types II, Ib and IV <I>fimA</I> had a significant frequency of occurrence in periodontitis subjects. Statistical analysis, however, revealed that a more significant correlation was found between periodontitis and the occurrence of type Ib <I>fimA</I>.</P>

        Thin basement membrane nephropathy (TBMN) is characterized by persistent hematuria, mild proteinuria, normal renal function and family history of hematuria. Many studies report that TBMN commonly occurs together with other glomerular diseases such as minimal change nephrotic syndrome, membranous nephropathy, IgA nephropathy and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis. Especially, the case of TBMN with minimal change nephrotic syndrome has been rare. We report a case of adult minimal change nephrotic syndrome with TBMN in a 44-year-old female with general edema and microscopic hematuria. On renal biopsy, electron microscopic examination demonstrated diffuse thinning of glomerular basement membrane with the thickness less than 250nm and diffuse foot process effacement. Treatment with corticosteroid resulted in complete remission of proteinuria.

        Effects of Supplemental Fermented Agro By-products Diet on the Growth Performances, Blood Characteristics and Carcass Traits in Fattening Pigs

        Effects of a supplemental fermented agro by-products diet on growth performance, blood characteristics and carcass traits were investigated in fattening pigs. The fermented diet mainly contained 38.0% brewer's grain, 25.0% rice bran and 21.0% byproduct of king oyster mushrooms. The mixed ingredients were fermented at $40^{\circ}C$ for 7 days and fed to crossbred barrow pigs for 62 days. Ninety pigs were housed in 10 head per pen with three replicate pens per treatment. The pigs in the control group were fed with formula feed, while the pigs in T1 group were fed 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100% fermented diet substituted with formula feed on 1 week interval. Pigs in T2 group were fed 30, 60 and 100% fermented diet substituted with formula feed on 1 week interval. The fermented diet significantly (p<0.05) decreased body weight gain and feed efficiency of pigs. The blood characteristics differed with diet types. Carcass grade was significantly better (p<0.05) in the pigs fed fermented diet than in the pigs fed control diet as well as ratio of high grade was higher in the fermented diet groups. Therefore, although a dietary of fermented diet decreased growth performance and feed efficiency, it improved the carcass grade in pigs.

        Effects of Dietary Fermented Persimmon Diet on the Meat Quality of Fattening Pigs

        The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of fermented persimmon diet on the meat quality of fattening pigs. Pigs (75 kg) were grouped and housed as 15 animals per pen and 3 replications per treatment. The basal diet (C) was substituted with 3% (T1), 5% (T2) and 10% (T3) of fermented diet. The 180 pigs were fed experimental diet for 42 d and 10 longissimus dorsi (LD) per treatment were collected when each swine reached 105.6 kg of body weight. The crude fat concentration of LD was lower (p<0.05) in treatments, but the pH value of T3 and the shear force values of T2 and T3 were higher (p<0.05) than those of C. The CIE $L^*$ value (lightness) was significantly (p<0.05) higher in T2 and T3 than C, but the CIE $b^*$ (yellowness) of T2 and T3 was significantly (p<0.05) lower than C. The composition of myristic acid and oleic acid was significantly (p<0.05) higher in treatments than in C, while the composition of palmitic acid and stearic acid of treatments were significantly (p<0.05) lower than C in LD. Sensory evaluation of cooked meat as scores of aroma, taste, juiciness and overall acceptability showed higher (p<0.05) in treatments than in C. In conclusion, the dietary of fermented persimmon diet decreased the crude fat concentration, improved the fatty acids composition (increased composition of unsaturated fatty acid and decreased composition of saturated fatty acid) and improved the sensory evaluation of pork meat from fattening pigs.

        생물화공 : 기액반응에서 형성된 탄산칼슘 결정의 다형성에 미치는 Aspartic acid와 Lysine의 영향

        탄산칼슘의 Biomineralization 반응을 수행하기 위해 aspartic acid와 lysine을 CaCl2 용액에 첨가하여 기-액 반응으로 염화칼슘과 NH4HCO3을 사용하여 탄산칼슘 결정화 실험을 하였다. 결정화 반응시간, aspartic acid와 lysine의 첨가양, CaCl2의 양, NH4HCO3의 양을 변경하여 탄산칼슘 결정의 다형체인 calcite와 vaterite의 비를 조사하였다. 결정 분석을 수행하기 위해 FT-IR spectrometer(model IR Prestige-21, Shimadzu, Kyoto, Japan) 장치를 사용하였고 FT-IR 스펙트럼으로 calcite와 vaterite 결정을 확인하였다. CaCl2의 양을 변경하였을 때, NH4HCO3 10 g에서 0.15 M의 CaCl2 농도 전 후에서 vaterite 결정의 증가가 감소로 변하다가 0.20M에서는 다시 증가하여 0.25 M에서 가장 많은 vaterite 결정이 관 찰되었다. NH4HCO3 20 g에서는 0.10 M의 CaCl2를 전환점으로 하여 vaterite 결정이 증가에서 감소추세를 보이다가 0.25M에서 다시 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 첨가제로 lysine을 이용하였을 때는 반응시간이 2일을 기점으로 vaterite양 의 증가가 감소로 변하였고 aspartic acid를 첨가하였을 때는 반대의 경향을 보였다. Crystallization of calcium carbonate were performed by adding aspartic acid and lysine into CaCI2 solution for understanding biomineralization in gas-liquid reaction ofNH4HCO3 and CaCI2. Proportion between calcite and vaterite of calcium carbonate crystals was identified by changing conditions such as reaction time, addition amount of aspartic acid, lysine, CaCI2, and NH4HCO3. FT-IR(Fourier Transfonn Infrared spectroscopy) instrument was used to perfonn analysis ofvaterite ratio. Under the condition ofNH4HCOJ 10 g and no additive, an increase of vaterite crystal changed to a decrease around 0.15 M CaClz. Then it largely increased at 0.25 M CaCI2, after vaterite proportion was rising again at 0.20 M CaClz. In contrast to that, vaterite crystal continuously decreased to 0.2 M CaCI2, and increased from 0.25 M CaCI2 with 20 g NH4HCO3. Vaterite crystals were observed to be a maximum after 2days with lysine addition, but CaCO3 vaterite crystals showed minimum with aspartic acid.

        Effect of Substitution of Fermented King Oyster Mushroom By-Products Diet on Pork Quality during Storage

        This study was carried out to investigate the effects of substitution of fermented king oyster mushroom (P. eryngii) by-products diet on pork meat quality characteristics, during the storage. A mixture of 40% king oyster mushroom by-products, 28% soybean meal and 20% corn was fermented for 10 d, and the basal diet was then substituted by the fermented diet mixture of up to 20, 50 and 80%, respectively. A total of 96 pigs were fed experimental diet (8 pigs per pen ${\times}$ 4 diets ${\times}$ 3 replication), and eight longissiumus (LD) per treatment were collected, when each swine reached to 110 kg of body weight. The Warner-Bratzler shear forces and cooking loss were significantly lowered in the treatments, while crude protein content and water holding capacity significantly (p<0.05) increased in the treatments than in the control group. The volatile basic nitrogen (VBN), at 1 d of storage, was lower in the treatments, while texture profiles and sensory evaluation did not differ between the control and the treatments (p>0.05). The pH, thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), VBN and meat color in all treatments were increased as storage increased. Fermented king oyster mushroom by-products diet effects on lightness (CIE $L^*$), yellowness (CIE $b^*$) and chroma were determined, when LD muscles in T2 and T3 treatments were higher (p<0.05), up to 7 d (p<0.05). Therefore, the results indicate that the substitution of the fermented king oyster mushroom by-products diet to swine diet influenced the quality of the meat and it may be an economically valuable ingredient.
