Objective: To analyze peritoneal spillage and artificial displacement of indocyanine green (ICG)-stained tissues from the uterine cervix to the pelvis during intracorporeal and vaginal colpotomy in laparoscopic-assisted hysterectomy. Methods: In this prospective proof of concept study, 5 patients undergoing laparoscopic-assisted hysterectomy were included. All patients received hysterectomy due to benign uterine disease. Two patients underwent intracorporeal colpotomy and three patients received vaginal colpotomy, respectively. Approximately 3 cm of resected round ligament from each patient was stained with ICG and was cut to 0.5 x 0.5 cm in size. Five fragments of ICG-stained tissue were placed on the uterine cervix in front of the vaginal occluder balloon before intracorporeal colpotomy and placed on the uterine cervix before vaginal colpotomy, respectively. During colpotomy, serial pictures under white and fluorescence light were taken to document peritoneal spillage and displacement of ICG-stained tissue to the pelvic peritoneum. All fragments of ICG-stained tissue were retrieved. Results: Peritoneal spillage and displacement of ICG-stained tissue from the uterine cervix to the pelvic peritoneum were visualized in 2 patients undergoing intracorporeal colpotomy. In addition, contamination of laparoscopic instrument occurred. In the 3 patients, however, peritoneal spillage and displacement of ICG-stained tissue to the pelvic peritoneum did not occur after vaginal colpotomy. There were no adverse events during and after surgery. Conclusion: Intracorporeal colpotomy in minimally invasive radical hysterectomy may itself be related to higher disease recurrence rates compared to abdominal radical hysterectomy. Therefore, in performing minimally invasive radical hysterectomy, vaginal colpotomy can be a safer procedure than intracorporeal colpotomy.
Developing a Testing Method for Antimicrobial Efficacy on TiO₂ Photocatalytic Products
Jee Yeon Kim,Chang Hun Park,Je Yong Yoon 대한환경공학회 2008 Environmental Engineering Research Vol.13 No.3
TiO₂ photocatalyst has been known to exhibit a notable disinfecting activity against a broad spectrum of microorganisms. A lot of commercial TiO₂ photocatalyst products have been developed for antimicrobial purposes. However, a standard method has not yet been proposed for use in testing antimicrobial activity. In this study, we developed a TiO₂ photocatalytic adhesion test method with film as the standard testing method for the evaluation of antimicrobial activity. This method was devised by modifying the previous antimicrobial products test method, which has been widely used, and considering the characteristics of TiO₂ photocatalytic reaction. The apparatus for testing the antimicrobial activity was composed of a Black Light Blue (BLB) lamp as UV-A light source, a Petri dish as the cover material, and a polypropylene film as the adhesion film. The standard TiO₂ photocatalyst sample, Degussa P25 TiO₂-coated glass, could only be used once. The optimal initial concentration of the microorganism, proper light intensity, and light irradiation time were determined to be 10(6) CFU/mL, 1.0 mW/cm2, and 3 hr, respectively, for testing and evaluating antimicrobial activity on the TiO₂ surface.
Cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC for intraabdominal synovial sarcoma with peritoneal carcinomatosis

Synovial sarcoma is a malignant mesenchymal neoplasm with variable epithelial differentiation that mainly occurs adjacent to joint capsules’ bursal and tendon sheath. In spite of the name, Synovial sarcoma can occur everywhere in the body but among these, intra-abdominal synovial sarcoma is rare and accounts 1.8% of its distribution while the mortality is relatively high. There is currently no effective treatment except surgery for this type of sarcoma. We present a case of primary intra-abdominal synovial sarcoma with peritoneal carcinomatosis successfully treated with cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). A 27 years old nulliparous woman was referred to our hospital for abdominal mass. She had a two-month history of progressive abdominal distension and dizziness. The abdominopelvic CT scan showed greater than 15cm-sized cystic-solid papillary mass lesion with large amount of hemorrhagic ascites. Her serum CA-125 was 222.6 U/mL. Under the impression of ovarian cancer, diagnostic laparoscopy was performed. Around 15cm-sized huge hemorrhagic mass was found. On the frozen section of the tumor, high-grade malignancy was suspected and the final result was synovial sarcoma. At surgical exploration, about 15cm-sized omental mass was seen. Multiple metastatic nodules involving the peritoneum and omentum were found. Primary cytoreductive surgery was performed with following procedures; total parietal peritonectomy, total hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, greater omentectomy, appendectomy and HIPEC using cisplatin. There was no gross residual disease and the postoperative course was uncomplicated. She received 6 cycles of adjuvant systemic chemotherapy using AD (doxorubicin + dacarbazine) regimen and has been followed without disease recurrence until now. This is the first demonstration of intraperitoneal synovial sarcoma with peritoneal metastasis successfully treated with cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC.
Understanding the Continuance Intention to Use Chatbot Services
Jeeyeon Kim,Yiling Li,최정혜 한국마케팅학회 2023 ASIA MARKETING JOURNAL Vol.25 No.3
Chatbot services have become an essential communication tool for interacting with consumers in e-commerce. To understand consumer behavior in the context of chatbot services, we apply the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to analyze continuance intention to use and additional predictors to explain behavioral intention. An analysis of data collected from 300 digital shopping users who had experienced chatbot services revealed that an extended TPB model holds for the continuous use of chatbot services, driven by both interaction and information quality. Accordingly, these findings provide a better understanding of consumer behavior toward chatbot services and valuable insights into digital customer relationship management.
Effect of Ohmic Thawing on Physico-Chemical Properties of Frozen Hamburger Patties
Jee-Yeon Kim,홍근표,Sung-Hee Park,Walter E. L. Spiess,Sang-Gi Min 한국축산식품학회 2006 한국축산식품학회지 Vol.26 No.2
This study was carried out to investigate the effects of ohmic power intensity on the physico-chemical properties of hamburger patties. Six different ohmic power intensities (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 V) were delivered by controlling the power with the sine wave at 50Hz. The ohmic power intensity influenced the thawing rate, and increasing ohmic power intensity increased the thawing rate. The faster thawing rate was obtained at higher ohmic power intensity (50 V) with 0.5% NaCl added meat patties in comparison to no NaCl added hamburger patties. The pH values of all patties were not significantly different with increasing ohmic power intensity (p<0.05). Increasing thawing rate did not tend to improve the water holding capacity (WHC) of all patties by ohmic thawing. Cooking losses were almost the same regardless of increasing ohmic power intensity. Increasing ohmic power intensity tended to increase the thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS) levels. TBARS levels of all hamburger patties without NaCl were significantly higher than that of 0.5% NaCl added hamburger patties (p<0.05) at higher ohmic intensity (50 V). In conclusion, these results indicated that a higher ohmic power intensity at 50 V induced the lipid oxidation of all patties.

Background/Aims: This study compared the efficacy, compliance, and safety of bowel preparation between sodium picosulfate with magnesium citrate (SPMC) and oral sulfate solution (OSS). Methods: A prospective randomized multicenter study was performed. Split preparation methods were performed in both groups; the SPMC group, 2 sachets on the day before, and 1 sachet on the day of the procedure, the OSS group, half of the OSS with 1 L of water on both the day before and the day of the procedure. The adenoma detection rate (ADR), adequacy of bowel preparation using the Boston Bowel Preparation Scale (BBPS) score, patient satisfaction on a visual analog scale (VAS), and safety were compared between the 2 groups. Results: This study analyzed 229 patients (121 in the SPMC group and 108 in the OSS group). ADR showed no differences between 2 groups (51.7% vs. 41.7%, P>0.05). The mean total BBPS score (7.95 vs. 8.11, P>0.05) and adequate bowel preparation rate (94.9% vs. 96.3%, P>0.05) were similar between the 2 groups. The mean VAS score for taste (7.62 vs. 6.87, P=0.006) was significantly higher in the SPMC group than in the OSS group. There were no significant differences in any other safety variables between the 2 groups except nausea symptom (36.1% vs. 20.3%, P=0.008). Conclusions: Bowel preparation for colonoscopy using low volume OSS and SPMC yielded similar ADRs and levels of efficacy. SPMC had higher levels of satisfaction for taste and feeling than did OSS.
