This study was carried out to investigate the effect of Honeyed ginseng(H.G.) on growth and biochemical components of rats. Grouping of rats in experiment was four different dietary groups as 0% H.G. group(control group), 1% H.G. group. 5% H.G. group and 10% H.G. group in continous ad libitum feeding for 3 weeks, repectively. Body weight gain of 1% H.G. group was more increased in comparison to control group. 5% and 10% H.G. groups. Liver weight of 1% H.G. group was more increased in comparison to others. But, spleen weight of 10% H.G. group was significantly decreased in comparison to control and 1% H.G. group(P<0.005). In biochemical component of plasma, total protein of 1% H.G. group was more increased in comparison to others. β-lipoprotein in plasma was significantly decreased in 1% and 5% H.G. group(P<0.05) and HDL-cholesterol was more increased in all H.G. groups. however, 5% H.G. group was significantly increased (P<0.05). Liver lipid of 10% H.G. group was more decreased in comparison to other groups. From the above result it was concluded that group treated with H.G. showed good nutritional efficiency in the body, especially, decreased a β-lipoprotein but increased HDL-cholesterol in plasma. 1% and 5% H.G. content of diet was superior to that of 10% in nutritional efficiency.
Testing Whether Failure Rate Changes its Trend Using Censored Data
Jeong, Hai-Sung,Na, Myung-Hwan,Kim, Jae-Joo The Korean Reliability Society 2000 International Journal of Reliability and Applicati Vol.1 No.2
The trend change in aging properties, such as failure rate and mean residual life, of a life distribution is important to engineers and reliability analysts. In this paper we develop a test statistic for testing whether or not the failure rate changes its trend using censored data. The asymptotic normality of the test statistics is established. We discuss the efficiency values of loss due to censoring.
RELIABILITY PREDICTION BASED ON DEGRADATION DATA
JEONG, HAI-SUNG 서원대학교 응용과학연구소 2000 응용과학연구 Vol.9 No.1
As monitoring, testing, and measuring techniques develop, predictive control of components and complete systems have become more practical and affordable. In this paper we develop a statistics-based approach assuming nonlinear degradation paths and time-dependent standard deviation in the censoring case. This approach can be extended to provide reliability estimates and limit value determination in predictive maintenance policy.
ANALYSIS OF PROPORTIONAL HAZARDS MODEL FOR INTERARRIVAL TIMES
JEONG, HAI-SUNG 서원대학교 응용과학연구소 2001 응용과학연구 Vol.10 No.1
Proportional hazards model can be used to develop a realistic approach to determine the performance of a system. The proportional hazards model is typically applied for a group of equipments to assess the importance of factors that may influence the reliability of a system. In this paper we considered the interarrival times of each of several items of equipment rather than the time to first failure for grouped items of equipment. In order to demonstrate the proposed approach, an example is presented.
Nonparametric Estimation of Renewal function
Jeong, Hai Sung 서원대학교 응용과학연구소 1998 응용과학연구 Vol.7 No.1
We consider a nonparametric estimation of the renewal function. In this paper, we suggest modified methods for Frees's estimator to enhance the efficiency. The methods are based on a piecewise linearization and on the fact that the bounded monotonic functions converging pointwise to the bounded monotonic continuous function converge uniformly. In a simulation study, we show that the modified methods have the better efficiency than that introduced by Frees.
PARAMETRIC ESTIMATION OF RENEWAL FUNCTION
JEONG,HAI SUNG 서원대학교 응용과학연구소 1999 응용과학연구 Vol.8 No.1
The renewal function plays an important role in many probabilistic models and sequential analysis such that warranty analysis and the detenmination of preventive maintenance policy. In this paper we study a parametric approach for renewal function. The simulation study is presented to compare the relative performance of the introduced estimators of renewal function. And we show that the proposal parametric estimator performs well.
Block Replacement Policy by Multiple Choice with Used Items
Jeong, Hai-Sung The Korean Statistical Society 1999 Communications for statistical applications and me Vol.6 No.2
A block replacement policy where at failure the item is either replaced by a new or used item or remains inactive until the next planned replacement is considered. in this paper our interests are focused on reusing all the used items created by the policy. Numerical results for the case where the underlying life distribution is gamma are obtained.
