The crosstalk evaluation of multiview autostereoscopic three-dimensional (3D) displays is discussed, with both the human and technical factors investigated via image quality assessment. In the imaging performance measurements and analysis for a multiview autostereoscopic display prototype equipment, it was inferred that crosstalk would have both a positive and a negative effect on the imaging performance of the equipment. The importance of the attached diaphragm in the crosstalk evaluation was proposed and then experimentally verified, using the developed prototype equipment. The luminance distribution and crosstalk situation were given, with two different diaphragm arrays applied. The analysis results showed that the imaging performance of this 3D display system can be improved with minimum changes to the system structure.
Decomposition Properties of Trifluoroiodomethane under Discharges and Interruptions
Fan-Yi Cai,Dong-Xian Tan,Bai-Jie Zhou,Jian Xue,Deng-Ming Xiao 대한전기학회 2018 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.13 No.6
This paper is devoted to detecting decomposition characteristics of Iodotrifluoromethane (CF3I) under alternating current (AC) discharges or load current interruptions. The decomposition products are measured utilizing chromatography-mass spectroscopy. It is found that less than 1% CF3I gas decomposed after several interruptions at load current of 200 A or hundred times of AC discharges. However, under interruptions at a current of 400 A, more than 95% CF3I gas decomposed into carbon tetrafluoride (CF4) and hexafluoroethane (C2F6). The equilibrium compositions based on Gibbs free energy minimization of CF3I was calculated to explain the decomposition mechanism.

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) have beneficial effects on intestinal health and skin diseases. Lipoteichoic acid (LTA), a cell wall component of gram-positive bacteria, is known to induce the production of several cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-8 and affect the intestinal microflora, anti-aging, sepsis, and cholesterol level. In this study, Weissella cibaria was isolated from Indian dairy products, and we examined its immune-enhancing effects. Live and heatkilled W. cibaria did not induce the secretion of immune-related cytokines, whereas LTA isolated from W. cibaria (cLTA) significantly increased the secretion of TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 in a dose-dependent manner. cLTA increased the phosphorylation of nuclear factor kappalight-chain-enhancer of activated B cells, p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases, and c-Jun Nterminal kinases in THP-1 cells. The secretion of TNF-α and IL-6 was also increased in the cLTA-treated mouse splenocytes. These results suggest that cLTA, but not W. cibaria whole cells, has immune-boosting potential and can be used to treat immunosuppression diseases.
The relationship of mobile phone use to addiction and depression amongst American college students
Yi-Fan Chen 한국방송학회 2004 한국방송학회 세미나 및 보고서 Vol.- No.-
As mobile phone use on college campuses has dramatically increased in recent years, so too have reports of mobile phone addiction amongst college students. Research on media addiction, such that of as television addiction (Mcllwraith, 1998; McIlwraith, Jacobvitz, Kubey, & Alexander, 1991; Smith, 1986) and Internet addiction (LaRose, Lin, & Eastin, 2003), among users has been abundant. However, research on mobile phone addiction hardly seems to exist. The purpose of this study is to explore gender effects of self-reported mobile phone addiction and its relationship to depression. The sample is American college students at a major university. Various theoretical frameworks of addiction were adapted from earlier studies conducted on television and Internet addiction. Five operational mobile phone addiction variables were assessed: preoccupation, tolerance, withdrawal, life consequences, and escapism. Five hundred and nineteen undergraduate college participants were non-randomly sampled from 3 different classes of the university. A questionnaire was distributed to the participants containing measures of mobile phone use, addiction, and depression. The results indicated that there is a pattern between mobile phone addiction and depression amongst the sample. Female participants reported significantly higher addiction effects than males. In addition, self-reported mobile phone addiction was positively associated with participants' depression.

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are microorganisms that are believed to provide health benefits. Here, we isolated LAB from Indian fermented foods, such as traditional Yogurt and Dosa. LAB from Yogurt most significantly induced TNF-α and IL-1β production, whereas LAB from Dosa induced mild cytokine production. After 16S rRNA gene sequencing and phylogenetic analysis, a Yogurt-borne lactic acid bacterium was identified and classified as Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus, and it was renamed L. delbrueckii K552 for the further studies. Our data suggest that the newly isolated L. delbrueckii can be used for the treatment of immune deficiency disorders.
Effects of Food Components on the Antibacterial Activity of Chitosan against Escherichia coli
Yi Fan Hong,Eunpyo Moon,Yun Hee Park 한국식품과학회 2008 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.17 No.6
The antibacterial activity of chitosan against Escherichia coli was investigated in the presence of NaCl, sucrose, and ethanol to assess the potential use of chitosan as a biopreservative in food products containing these components. The inhibitory activity of chitosan decreased slightly upon the addition of NaCl and sucrose, respectively to culture broth containing 100 ppm of chitosan (Mw 3,000), while the addition of ethanol enhanced the inhibitory activity of chitosan on growing cells. The addition of these components to non-growing cells prior to chitosan treatment demonstrated that NaCl protected the cells from the inhibitory activity of chitosan, while sucrose had no effect. Ethanol addition to non-growing cells increased cell death by chitosan treatment. Finally, binding of fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)-labeled chitosan to E. coli was measured in the presence of the food components. The FITC-labeled chitosan binding to cells decreased upon NaCl addition, was not affected by sucrose, and increased following treatment with ethanol.

It is known that lactic acid bacteria (LAB) have many beneficial health effects, including antioxidative activity and immune regulation. In this study, the immune regulatory effects of Lactobacillus sakei and Lactobacillus plantarum, which are found in different types of kimchi, were evaluated. L. sakei and its lipoteichoic acid (LTA) have greater immune stimulating potential in IL-12, IFN-γ, and TNF-α production as compared with L. plantarum in an in vitro condition. On the other hand, L. plantarum is assumed to repress the Th1 immune response in murine experiments. After being injected with LPS, L. plantarum-fed mice maintained a healthier state, and the level of TNF-α in their blood was lower than in other bacterial strainfed mice and in the LPS-only control mice. Additionally, IL-12 production was significantly decreased and the production of IL-4 was greatly increased in the splenocytes from L. plantarum-fed mice. Further experiments revealed that the pre-injection of purified LTA from L. plantarum (pLTA), L. sakei (sLTA), and S. aureus (aLTA) decreased TNF-α and IL-4 production in LPS-injected mice. Mouse IL-12, however, was significantly increased by aLTA pre-injection. In conclusion, the L. sakei and L. plantarum strains have immune regulation effects, but the effects differ in cytokine production and the regulatory effects of the Th1/Th2 immune response.

CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) tool is suitable for precision machining of nickel-based alloy due to its high hardness and chemical inert. Nickel-based alloys are difficult-to-cut material. When high-speed cutting nickel-based alloys with CBN tool, the temperature at tool-workpiece interface is very high. The atoms in workpiece material diff use into the tool surface and change the performance of cutting tool, resulting in diffusion wear. Inconel 718, which is one kind of widely used nickel-based alloy, is mainly composed of nickel (Ni), iron (Fe) and chromium (Cr). In this paper, the cutting model which describes the single crystal CBN tool cutting Ni–Fe–Cr three-component alloy, and the compression and impact model of CBN tool crystal are established by using molecular dynamics (MD) method to study the diffusion of Ni, Fe and Cr atoms into CBN tool and the effects of diffusion on the properties of CBN crystal tool. The results show that the diffusion of Ni, Fe and Cr atoms into CBN tool decreases the compressive strength and impact toughness of CBN crystals and the effects degree of atom diffusion on the properties of CBN crystals are different.
