Consensus of Multiple Euler-Lagrange Systems Using One Euler- Lagrange System’s Velocity Measurements

        Shan Cheng,Li Yu,Dongmei Zhang,Jinchen Ji 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2017 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.15 No.1

This brief paper studies the stationary consensus of multiple Euler-Lagrange systems with nonlinear protocols. Two consensus protocols are given to guarantee that positions and velocities of multiple Euler-Lagrangesystems reach consensus. Proposed protocols need only the relative position measurements and the velocity measurementsof one Euler-Lagrange system. Finally, numerical simulations are given to illustrate the theoreticalresults.

Consensus of Second-order Multi-agent Systems with Directed Networks Using Relative Position Measurements Only

        Shan Cheng,Han Dong,Li Yu,Dongmei Zhang,Jinchen Ji 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2019 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.17 No.1

This brief paper studies the consensus problem of second-order multi-agent systems when the agents’ velocitymeasurements are unavailable. Firstly, two simple consensus protocols which do not need velocity measurementsof the agents are derived to guarantee that the multi-agent systems achieve consensus in directed networks. Secondly, a key constant which is determined by the complex eigenvalue of the nonsymmetric Laplacian matrix andan explicit expression of the consensus state are respectively developed based on matrix theory. The obtained resultsshow that all the agents can reach consensus if the feedback parameter is bigger than the key constant. Thirdly, the theoretical analysis shows that the followers can track the position and velocity of the leader provided that theleader has a directed path to all other followers and the feedback parameter is bigger enough. Finally, numericalsimulations are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed protocols.

Upregulation of long non-coding RNA XIST has anticancer effects on epithelial ovarian cancer cells through inverse downregulation of hsa-miR-214-3p

        Changhong Wang,Shan Qi,Cheng Xie,Chunfu Li,Pu Wang,Dongmei Liu 대한부인종양학회 2018 Journal of Gynecologic Oncology Vol.29 No.6

Objective: The present study is to evaluate the biological functions of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), X-inactive specific transcript, X-inactive specific transcript (XIST) in human epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). Methods: XIST was upregulated in EOC cell lines, CAOV3 and OVCAR3 cells by lentiviral transduction. The effects of XIST overexpression on cancer cell proliferation, invasion, chemosensitivity and in vivo tumor growth were investigated, respectively. Possible sponging interaction between XIST and human microRNA hsa-miR-214-3p was further evaluated. Furthermore, hsa-miR-214-3p was overexpressed in XIST-upregulated CAOV3 and OVCAR3 cells to evaluate its effect on XIST-mediated EOC regulation. Results: Lentivirus-mediated XIST upregulation had significant anticancer effects in CAOV3 and OVCAR3 cells by suppressing cancer cell proliferation, invasion, increasing cisplatin chemosensitivity and inhibiting in vivo tumor growth. Hsa-miR-214-3p was confirmed to directly bind XIST, and inversely downregulated in XIST-upregulated EOC cells. In EOC cells with XIST upregulation, secondary lentiviral transduction successfully upregulated hsa-miR-214-3p expression. Subsequently, hsa-miR-214-3p upregulation functionally reversed the anticancer effects of XIST-upregulation in EOC. Conclusion: Upregulation of lncRNA XIST may suppress EOC development, possibly through sponging effect to induce hsa-miR-214-3p downregulation.

Comparison of Bypass Surgery with Drug-Eluting Stents in Diabetic Patients with Left Main Coronary Stenosis

        Xiaoxiao Zhao,Yujie Zhou,Hui Song,Like Guan,Guanbin Zheng,Zhehu Jin,Dongmei Shi,Yuzi Li,Yonghe Guo,Guo-Ping Shi,Xian Wu Cheng 연세대학교의과대학 2011 Yonsei medical journal Vol.52 No.6

Purpose: Several studies have compared the effects of coronary stenting and coronary-artery bypass grafting (CABG) on left main coronary artery (LMCA) disease. However, there are limited data on the long-term outcomes of these two interventions in diabetic patients. Materials and Methods: We evaluated 56 patients with LMCA stenosis who underwent drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation and 116 patients who underwent CABG in a single hospital in China between January 2004 and December 2006. We compared long-term major adverse cardiac events (death; a “serious outcome” composite of death, myocardial infarction, or stroke; and target-vessel revascularization). Results: In-hospital (30-day) mortality was 0% for the DES group and 3.4% for the CABG group (p=0.31). There was no difference between the two groups in terms of risk of death [hazard ratio for stenting group, 0.49; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.13-1.63; p=0.55] or risk of serious outcome (hazard ratio for DES group, 1.11; 95% CI, 0.39-1.45; p=0.47). The target-vessel revascularization rate was higher in the DES group than in the CABG group (hazard ratio, 3.67; 95% CI, 1.24-11.06; p=0.018). Conclusion: In this cohort of diabetic patients with LMCA stenosis, there was no difference in composite endpoints between patients receiving DESs and those undergoing CABG. However, stenting was associated with higher rates of target-vessel revascularization than CABG. DES implantation in diabetic patients with LMCA disease was found to be at least as safe as CABG.

Physiological and biochemical characterization of sheepgrass (Leymus chinensis) reveals insights into photosynthetic apparatus coping with low-phosphate stress conditions

        Lingyu Li,Haomeng Yang,Weibo Ren,Bei Liu,Dongmei Cheng,Xinhong Wu,Jirui Gong,Lianwei Peng,Fang Huang 한국식물학회 2016 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.59 No.4

Sheepgrass [Leymus chinensis (Trin.) Tzvel] is a valuble forage plant highly significant to regional grassland productivity of Euro-Asia steppes. Although effects of environmental stress including drought have been studied, impact of nutrient deficiency in particular phosphate (Pi), one of the essential macronutrient, is not reported. Here, we investigated low-Pi effect on its photosynthetic apparatus via physiological and biochemical analysis. We show that PSII activity was significantly reduced based on chlorophyll fluorescence measurements. We observed decreased amount of core proteins of PSII by immunoblot analysis. Further analysis of thylakoid membranes using 2D-BN/SDS-PAGE and immunoblot detection demonstrated that the amount of PSII complexes was closely correlated with the Pi levels within the range. Together with reduced number of thylakoid grana stackings observed, we suggest that the maintenance of PSII is impaired under Pi-limited condition. Moreover, enzyme activity assays revealed that the activity of several ROS scavenger enzymes was stimulated by low-Pi treatment. Based on these experimental results we conclude that PSII is the component of photosynthetic apparatus most sensitive to Pi supply and the enhanced anti-ROS activity is mainly subjective to protection of PSII against low Pi-induced photo-oxidative stress in the organism.
