The current study evaluates the capacity of Caryophylli Flos water extract(CFWE) to regulate immediate allergic reaction by control of histamine release. CFWE was found to exhibit a ingibitory activity on the compound 48/80-induced anaphylaxis. CFWE inhibited the serum histamine release induced in anaphylaxis by compound 48/80. CFWE was also showed a dose-depent activity on the conpound 40/80-induced histamine release from the highly purified population of Alcian Blue-positive peritoneal mast cells. This result suggest that CFWE may be useful for the prevention and treatment of allergy related disease.
시간지연 제어기법을 이용한 유연한 로봇 팔의 위치 제어

A TDC(Time Delay Control) theory is applied to the the position control problems of flexible robot manipulators subjected to unknown dynamics and distrurbances. One link flexible manipulator system with tip mass is represented as a simple spring-mass-damper syseem and AC servo motor is used as the actuator. Based on the system model, the TDC is designed, and the PI-controller is also designed for comparison. The control performance of TDC is evaluated through a series of simulations and experiments. The simulational and wxperimental results show that the TDC is much robust than the PI-controller to the unknown dynamics and disturbances.
RF DIN Connector의 Passive IMD 개선에 관한 연구

최근 이동통신 서비스가 확대됨에 따라 인접 기지국간의 간섭문제가 증가하게 되었으며, 그에 따라 CDMA시스템의 active IMD 뿐만 아니라 PIMD (Passive Inter Modulation Distortion)에 대한 문제도 시스템 설계 시 고려되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 RF connector 중 대표적 connector인 7/16“ DIN connector를 통하여 동촉선에서의 PIMD발생 정도를 분석하였고, PIME 개선 방안을 제안하였다. 첫째, 대부분의 전류가 통과하는 경로에는 표면조도가 좋은 금속이 전도율이 좋아 유리하며, 둘째 RF에너지가 충분ㅎ히 한 매질에서 통과할 수 있도록 최소 5m 이상으로 도금을 해야 함을 알수 있었다. 셋째, 도금 재료의 노화현상 방지를 위해 비열이 높고 전도율이 높은 금속 선택이 필수적이며, 비용절감 면에서는 삼원합금 등 대체 도금 재질 개발이 요구됨을 알 수 있었다. 현재 국내 PIMD 규격인 KTF-150dBc를 만족시키기 위해서는 7/16“ DIN connector 의 경우 도금재질에 관계없이 표면조도 6s, 도금두께 5m일때 KTF의 PIMD 규정을 만족시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. Recently, as the range of mobile communication services is extended, the interference between adjacent base-stations is increased. Nowdays, on of the important factors causing interference is IMD(Inter-Modulation Distortion) problems. Not only active IMD but also passive IMD effects must be considered to design a CDMA system. In this study, we design and implement 7/16'' DIN connectors which have a various intensity of surface illumination, thickness and quality of plating material to analyze the effects of PIMD. And propose the methods for improving the PIMD characteristics: First, it is more profitable to use the metal which has good intensity of surface illumination where most of all electric currents passes through it. Secondly, we should plate metals more than 5 μm for RF energy enough to propagate in a medium. Thirdly, it is necessary to select a metal having high conductivity and specific heat to protect the aging phenomenon of plate material. And it is required to develop a new plating material to replace the current materials, such as the alloy of three components for cost reduction. We have to know that the plate which has intensity of surface illumination 6 S and the thickness of plating material 5 μm satisfy domestic PIMD specification (KTF) - 150 dBc, regardless of the plate material in case of 7/16'' DIN connector.
Association Rules Mined from Construction Accident Data

Worker safety awareness issue in construction job site is a major concern due to the hazardous work conditions attributed to thedynamic and complex nature of construction job sites. Providing intuitive knowledge expressed as linguistic statements would beuseful for corrective and/or preventive actions. This study investigates 98,189 serious injury and fatal accidents that occurred inKorean building construction sites in the period 2006-2010 in order to discover intuitive knowledge expressed as association rulesamong multi-attributes of construction accidents. 74 association rules are identified as valid by computing the minimum support,confidence, and lift of each rule. Finally, 30 consolidated association rules are obtained as meaningful knowledge for implementingcorrective and preventive actions for effective job site safety management after either combining or pruning those 74 rules. Thisstudy provides the theoretical rule base that defines the association among accident attributes causing serious injuries and fatalities atconstruction job site. These rules may be useful for efficient safety control and education.

Background/Aims: Infliximab (IFX) has proven effective as rescue therapy in steroid-refractory acute severe ulcerative colitis (ASUC), however, the long-term real-world data are scarce. Our study aimed to assess the long-term treatment outcomes of IFX in a real-life cohort. Methods: We established a multicenter retrospective cohort of hospitalized patients with ASUC, who met Truelove and Witt’s criteria and received intravenous corticosteroid (IVCS) or IFX during index hospitalization between 2006 and 2016 in 5 university hospitals in Korea. The cohort was systematically followed up until colectomy, death or last follow-up visit. Results: A total of 296 patients were followed up for a mean of 68.9±44.0 months. During index hospitalization, 49 patients were treated with IFX; as rescue therapy for IVCS failure in 37 and as first-line medical therapy for ASUC in 12. All patients treated with IFX avoided colectomy during index hospitalization. The cumulative rates of rehospitalization and colectomy were 20.4% and 6.1% at 3 months and 39.6% and 18.8% at the end of follow-up, respectively. Patients treated with IFX presented with significantly shorter colectomy-free survival than IVCS responders (P=0.04, log-rank test). Both cytomegalovirus colitis and Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) were the significant predictors of colectomy in the overall study cohort (hazard ratios of 6.57 and 4.61, respectively). There were no fatalities. Conclusions: Our real-world cohort study demonstrated that IFX is an effective therapeutic option in Korean patients with ASUC, irrespective of IFX indication. Aggressive vigilance for cytomegalovirus colitis and CDI is warranted for hospitalized patients with ASUC. (Intest Res 2021;19:323-331)

Background/Aims: Vaccination against hepatitis A virus (HAV) is recommended for patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB), since they are potentially at an increased risk of HAV-related morbidity and mortality. However, little is known about the adherence to these recommendations in the community. This study evaluated the current vaccination status and immunity against HAV among Korean military soldiers with CHB. Methods: We performed a prospective study of Korean military soldiers from August 2008 to January 2009. We enrolled 96 soldiers with CHB on a consecutive basis. We assessed their vaccination history and the presence of anti-HAV immunoglobulin G (IgG). Results: The HAV vaccination rate of the soldiers enrolled in our study was 2% (2 of the 96 soldiers). The seroprevalence rates of anti-HAV IgG among military soldiers without a vaccination history were 0%, 50%, and 100% for those aged 19-29 years (n=71), 30-39 years (n=8), and 40 years or older (n=15), respectively (p<0.001). Conclusions: The HAV vaccination rate is very low among military soldiers. Public health efforts aimed at raising awareness about HAV vaccination in patients with CHB should be strongly encouraged.
