Exfoliative cheilitis is a rare and chronic inflammatory condition affecting the vermilion of the lips and characterized by continuous peeling of the vermilion and production of a thick keratin scale. Conventional topical treatment of exfoliative cheilitis such as keratolytic lip balms, sunscreen, antifungal creams and topical steroids is helpful in some cases but it is not that effective in most cases. Conventional invasive treatment such as peeling with laser, cryosurgery and electrocautery is effective in some cases but it causes severe pain, discomforts, scarring and delayed wound healing. . In our case, a 42-year-old man was referred because of chronic thick hyperkeratotic plaques on both lips. It was resistant to conventional treatments. We treated him with pinhole method using Co2 laser. The lesion of the patient was almost improved without side effect and treatment effects lasted three to four months. This treatment was more effective with minimal side effects than conventional treatments. Clinicians should keep this treatment in mind while dealing with patients with treatment-resistant and chronic exfoliative cheilitis.
Verification of Hybrid Real Time HVDC Simulator in Cheju-Haenam HVDC System

In this paper a Hybrid Real Time HVDC Simulator fur both operator Training and Researching in the Cheju-Haenam HVDC System is proposed and its performance is studied by means of RTDS (Real Time Digital Simulator), EMTDC (Electro-Magnetic Transients system for DC), PSS/E (Power System Simulator for Engineering), and experienced scenarios. The objective of this paper is to represent the strategy in development for KEPCO's hybrid HVDC simulator for the Cheju-Haenam HVDC system. This simulator consists of two DC stations, DC cables, external digital/analog controllers, monitoring systems and control desk for education, and AC networks. Its suitability for operator's education is tested during startup/shutdown and normal state operations. Dynamic performances of it are also verified.

Keratoacanthoma is a unique skin tumor which shows similar histopathologic features to SCC, but regresses voluntarily after rapid growth. Recently, there have been cases in which secondary cancer has been induced by a new anti-cancer drug. Vemurafenib is used for treatment of metastatic and unresectable melanomas with V600E mutations in the BRAF gene. BRAF is a component of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway, leading to RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK which is involved in cell proliferation, survival, and differentiation. Mutations in the BRAF gene cause a permanent activation of B-RAF and by extension, of the MAPK pathway, which results in uncontrolled growth and proliferation of cells. Vemurafenib, small-molecule inhibitor of BRAF(V600E) kinase, cause an inhibition of an over-activated MAPK signaling pathway downstream in BRAF kinase-expressing tumor cells. Proliferation of keratinocytes is common when using Vemurafenib, ranging from benign verrucous lesions to malignant. It usually occurs between the 7th and 8th weeks of treatment. In our two cases, a 58-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman, who had metastatic melanoma, were referred because of keratotic papules and nodules on face and neck. Both patients were treated with Vemurafenib for two and three months. We performed skin biopsy and the skin lesions of the both patients were diagnosed as keratoacanthoma. We report two cases of B-RAF enzyme inhibitor associated keratoacanthoma.

In this study, the effects of water-to-binder (W/B) ratio and replacement ratio of blast furnace slag (BFS) on the compressive strength of concrete were first investigated to determine an optimized mixture. Then, using the optimized high-strength concrete (HSC) mixture, hooked steel fibers with various aspect ratios and volume fractions were used as additives and the resulting mechanical properties under compression and flexure were evaluated. Test results indicated that replacement ratios of BFS from 50 to 60% were optimal in maximizing the compressive strength of steam-cured HSCs with various W/B ratios. The use of hooked steel fibers with the aspect ratio of 80 led to better mechanical performance under both compression and flexure than those with the aspect ratio of 65. By increasing the fiber aspect ratio from 65 to 80, the hooked steel fiber volume content could be reduced by 0.25% without any significant deterioration of energy absorption capacity. Lastly, complete material models of steel-fiber-reinforced HSCs were proposed for structural design from Lee's model and the RILEM TC 162-TDF recommendations.

Background: It is well known that cutaneous malignancies are frequently developed in solid organ transplanted patients than normal population in western countries. Objectives: Only few studies were done in Asian countries before, we sought to evaluate clinical features and the incidence of cutaneous malignancies after solid organ transplantation and to compare them with western countries. Methods: This is a retrospective study in the single center in Korea. From November 1, 1994 to April 30, 2017, a total of 4604 patients underwent solid organ transplantation such as kidney, liver, heart and lung transplantation. Considering the follow-up duration, the sum of person-year was 31024. Results: Total 41 patients developed cutaneous malignancy/pre-cancerous lesions including six basal cell carcinomas, nine squamous cell carcinomas, two malignant melanomas, one Kaposi sarcoma, eleven Bowen’s diseases and twelve actinic keratosis patients. Comparing with western countries, the incidence of post-transplant cutaneous malignancy was extremely low. Malignancies were most commonly developed on the sun-exposed area; especially on the head and neck. Incidence rate was the highest in the patients of heart transplantation and four and six times higher than in kidney and liver transplantation. Conclusion: In conclusion, cutaneous malignancy after solid organ transplantation might be much rare in Asian. Sun-exposure might be an important risk factor in transplanted patients as same as in general population.
Development of multispectral imaging algorithm for detection of frass on mature red tomatoes

In this research, a multispectral fluorescence-based imaging algorithm was developed to detect frass contamination on mature Campari tomatoes. Tomato images were acquired using a hyperspectral fluorescence line-scan imaging system with violet LED excitation, then analyzed for wavelength selection. The fluorescence intensities at five wavelengths, 515 nm, 640 nm, 664 nm, 690 nm, and 724 nm, were used to compute three simple ratio functions to detect frass contamination. The contamination spots were created on the tomato surfaces using four low-concentration frass dilutions. The algorithms detected over 99% of the 0.2 kg/L and 0.1 kg/L frass contamination spots and successfully differentiated these spots from tomato skin surfaces, stem scars, and stems. However, differentiation of the 0.05 kg/L and 0.02 kg/L frass contamination spots was more difficult. Adjusting the algorithm to successfully detect 95% of the 0.05 kg/L spots also resulted in false-positive pixel detections occurring on 28% of the tomatoes. This study demonstrates that a simple multispectral fluorescence imaging algorithm based on violet LED excitation could be useful for rapid postharvest detection of frass contamination on tomatoes in processing lines. EVALUATION OF PROLIFERATION RESISTANCE USING THE INPRO METHODOLOGY

The IAEA launched the International Project on Innovative Nuclear Reactors and Fuel Cycles (INPRO) and developed the INPRO Methodology to provide guidelines and to assess the characteristics of a future innovative nuclear energy system in areas such as safety, economics, waste management, and proliferation resistance. The proliferation resistance area of the INPRO Methodology is reviewed here, and modifications for further improvements are proposed. The evaluation metrics including the evaluation parameters, evaluation scales and acceptance limits are developed for a practical application of the methodology to assess the proliferation resistance. The proliferation resistant characteristics of the DUPIC fuel cycle are assessed by applying the modified INPRO Methodology based on the developed evaluation metrics and acceptance criteria. The evaluation procedure and the metrics can be utilized as a reference for an evaluation of the proliferation resistance of a future innovative nuclear energy system.
