This study was carried out, through the investigation of above literature and we was discovered these conclusions about the Etiology, Treatment, Prescription of Edema in Pregnancy. The result, of this study were as follows : 1. The Etiology of Edema in Pregnancy was deficiency of spleen(脾虛), deficiency of kidney(腎虛), stasis of Qi(氣滯), wetness and dampness(水濕). 2. By means of cause, the treatment of Edema in Pregnancy was promoted spleen, moved wetness(健脾行水), and it, was warmed kidney, moved wetness (溫腎行水), and it was circulated Qi, moved stasis(理氣行滯), and it was dispersed dampness, moved wetness(燥濕行水). 3. By means of cause, the prescription of Edema in Pregnancy was Ioˇtang(鯉魚湯), Joˇnsaeng paekchuksan(全生白朮散), Jinmutang(眞武湯), Choˇnsoˇnduˇngsan(天仙藤散), Pokryongdosutang(茯笭導水湯).

Bogryungtang has been used to medical therapy for ‘Ja Jong(子腫)’ in oriental medicine. Ja Jong means edema during pregnancy, which can be classified into several categories. Nevertheless many hypothesis for its basic etiology have been reported, several kinds of medication have been applied to edema during pregnancy according to its signs and symptoms. Bogryungtang therapy is one of the medications, especially for Ja Jong. For the purpose of clarifying the therapeutic mechanism of Bogryungtang, effects of the drug on the renal function, plasma aldosterone, renin activity and ANP were abserved in unanesthetized rabbit. The results obtained were as follows; 1. Intravenous administration of Bogryungtang water extract 12㎎/㎏ and 24㎎/㎏ significantly increased urine volume and free water clearance, while clearance, while large does tended to decrease these parameters. 2. Intravenous Bogryungtang water extract 24㎎/㎏ significantly increased renal plasma flow and glomerular filtration rate. 3. Bogryungtang water extract 12, 24 or 48㎎/㎏ tended to increase urinary excretion of electrolytes. 4. After intravenous administration of Bogryungtang water extract 12, 24 of 48㎎/㎏, plasma renin activity, aldosterone concentration and atrial natriuretic peptide were significantly decreased. 5. Small dose of Bogryungtang water extract did not change mean arterial blood pressure, but 48㎎/㎏ of the drug exhibited vasodepressive dffect. These results suggested that the diuretic effect of Bogryungtang water extract is due to the imporvement of renal hemodynamics and decrease of plasma aldosterone, and that decrease of plasma renin activity and ANP by Bogryungtang water extract can modify the renal effects of the drug.

This study was carried out through the investigation of above literature, we divided the characters in to cold or hot, weak or strong, and we was discovered these conclusions about the Etiology, Treatment, Prescription of Dysmenorrhea. The result of this study were as follows: 1. The Etology of Dysmenorrhea was stasis of Qi and blood(氣滯血瘀), deficiency of Qi and blood(氣血虛), wind, cold, dampness, and hot(風寒濕熱), heat symptom of blood(血熱), deficiency of liver and kidney(肝腎虛). 2. By means of causes, the treatment of Dysmenorrhea was circulated Qi, moved blood stasis, relexed ache(理氣行瘀止痛), and it was supplied Qi and blood(補氣養血), and it was warmed meridians and cold(溫經散寒), and it was cooled hot, refreshed blood(淸熱凉血). 3. By means of causes, the prescription of Dysmenorrhea was Kamioyatang(加味烏藥湯), Kyohachuko˘tang(隔下遂瘀湯), Palchintang(八珍湯), Dangkwiko˘njungtang(當歸健中湯), Onkyongtang(溫經湯), Sopokchuko˘tang(少腹遂瘀湯), Sonoyoltongyongtang(宣熱痛經湯), Chokantang(調肝湯).

Bibliographic study on the acupuncture and moxibution applied to dysmenorrhea. And the results are as follows. 1. among 14 acupuncture meridians, 10 acupuncture meridians were used. 2. Among acupuncture meridians, Stomach Meridian, Conception Vessel Meridian, Kidney Meridian and Spleen Meridian were used with high frequency. 3. Among Meridian point, Hyul hae(SP_10), Sam Um Kyo(SP_6), Kwan Won(CV_4), Chun Choo(S_25), Jok Sam Lee(S_36) were used with high frequency.
香稜丸이 子宮頸部癌細胞(HeLa Cell)의 apoptosis에 미치는 影響

To address the ability of Hangreunghwan(HRH) to induce cell death, we investigated the effect of HRH on cell viability. Twenty-four hours later, loss of viability occurred following HRH exposure in a dose-dependent manner. The treatment of HRH, a commonly used herb formulation in Korea, Japan and China, caused a decrease in cell viability. HRH also resulted in apoptotic morphology a brightly blue-fluorescent condensed nuclei by Hoechst 33258-staining, and reduction of cell volume. Our results show that 2mg/ml HRH induces mitochondria membrane potential collapse. Immunoblotting data also shows that the expression of Bcl-2, antiapoptotic protein, decrease by the addition of HRH. This GFP-Bax overexpression system shows that an important pro-apoptotic Bcl-2-family protein, Bax is translocated to mitochondria by the addition of 2 mg/ml HRH. Interestingly, the treatment of BAPTA-AM, calcium chelator, shows that calcium is involved in HRH-induced apoptosis including caspase-3 activation in HeLa cells. BAPTA-AM reverses HRH-induced inhibition of XIAP expression. In addition, the calcium chelator inhibits the increase of Bax expression which is induced by HRH. However, the treatment of BAPTA-AM does not have any effect on HRH-induced Bax translocation. In conclusion, calcium is involved in both HRH-increased Bax expression and HRH-regulated XIAP expression, resulting in apoptosis in HeLa human cervical carcinoma cells.
