지역문화의 가치관을 발견하는 일은 우리 자신의 정체성을 찾아가는 과정이며 더 나은 지역미래의 모습을 함께 꿈꾸는 일이다. 우리에게 참다운 지역문화는 지역의 관점에서 문화를 바라보는 주체가 지역민들로 자발적 참여에서 행동하고 활동하는 데서 시작된다. 그만큼 지역문화의 중요성은 지역만이 가지고 있는 특성을 어떻게 현대적 감각으로 녹이고 담아내어 현대인들이 인정하고 공감할 때 비로소 문화는 활짝 꽃피는 것이다. 지금까지 문화원들은 과거를 주로 다뤄왔다. 과거를 표현하는 향토, 역사, 전통은 지역문화원들이 사용하는 친숙한 주제어들로 이제 ‘전통은 지역문화’라는 말로 ‘향토는 마을’이라는 말로 ‘역사는 일상’이라는 말로 전환되어져 왔으나, 이제 지방문화원은 단편적인 일상의 주름진 이야기들이 모인 마을의 공동체 리빙아카이브와 거버넌스를 통한 기록 주권의 회복이라는 주제에도 집중해야 한다. 오늘의 일상이 뉴노멀(시대 변화에 따라 새롭게 떠오르는 기준) 시대의 일상문화가 무엇인지 지 역문화원이 답을 찾아가야하는데, 그 시작의 뿌리는 지역학에서 찾을 수 있다고 하겠다. 지역학은 미래지향적 학문으로 다양한 학문의 결합체이다. 지역학연구소 운영은 지역의 자료은행으로 알기(연구), 알리기(교육), 챙기기(조사), 활용하기, 상생하기, 소통하기(연계) 이와 같은 노력을 통해서 지역사회에 뿌리를 깊게 내릴수록 발전할 수 있다고 본다. 지방문화원의 미래도 바로 여기에 있다고 생각한다. 지방문화원은 그 지역의 정체성을 담보하는 수많은 정보를 축적해 놓고 있기 때문에 지역학적 접근이 매우 용이하다는 것이 최고의 장점인 만큼 지역대학과 연계하여 발전방향을 모색함이 바람직하다할 것이다. Discovering the values of local culture is a process of finding our own uniqueness and dreaming of a better local future together. Local culture that is true to us begins when the subject who sees the culture from a local perspective acts and acts through voluntary participation of local residents. The importance of such a local culture is that culture blooms in full bloom only when modern people recognize and empathize with how to dissolve and embody the characteristics of the region in a modem sense. Until now, cultural centers have mainly dealt with the past. Locality, history, and tradition that express the past are familiar keywords used by local cultural centers. Now, the word‘tradition is local culture’ and‘locality is village’ has been converted into ‘history is daily life’. We should also focus on the theme of the recovery of documentary sovereignty through a community living archive in a village where fragmentary stories of daily life are gathered and governance. Today’s daily life is the new normal (a standard that emerges from the change of the times) The local cultural center has to find the answer to what the daily culture is, and the root of the beginning can be found in regional studies. Regional studies are future-oriented studies and are a combination of various studies. The operation of the regional studies research center is a local data bank that develops the more deeply rooted in the local community through such efforts: know (research), inform (education), take care (investigation), use, win-win, and communicate (linkage). I think I can. I think the future of the local cultural center is also here. Since local cultural centers have accumulated a lot of information that guarantees the identity of the region, it is desirable to seek a direction for development in connection with local universities, as the best advantage is that the regional approach is very easy.
