Hypothermia Presenting in Wernicke Encephalopathy: A Case Report
홍석현,오주선,이창현,오재호 대한재활의학회 2017 Annals of Rehabilitation Medicine Vol.41 No.1
Wernicke encephalopathy (WE) is a neurologic disorder characterized by clinical symptoms, such as nystagmus, ataxia, and mental confusion. Hypothermia in patients with WE is a rare complication, and its pathogenic mechanism and therapy are yet to be ascertained. Herein, we presented a case of a 61-year-old man who was diagnosed with WE 3 months earlier. We investigated the cause of hypothermia (35.0oC) that occurred after an enema (bowel emptying). Brain magnetic resonance imaging revealed mammillary body and hypothalamus atrophy. In the autonomic function test, the sympathetic skin response (SSR) test did not evoke SSR latencies on both hands. In addition, abnormal orthostatic hypotension was observed. Laxative and stool softener medication were administered, and his diet was modified, which led to an improvement in constipation after 2 weeks. Moreover, there was no recurrence of hypothermic episode. This is the first reported case of late-onset hypothermia secondary to WE.
Deep Convolutional Condition -GAN

In situations where the driver's view is narrow because of fog or heavy rain, computer vision can be used to detect obstacles in front of the driver and visualize them to provide a virtual front view to the driver for safe driving. The implemented auxiliary vision provider consists of a camera, a LiDAR sensor, and a computing unit. Road lanes in the images coming from the camera are recognized and displayed using LaneNet, at the same time, the obstacles in front of the LiDAR sensor are recognized and converted into the coordinates using the information measured by the LiDAR sensor. We could get a auxiliary view for safe driving by combining the lane image and obstacles’ coordinates.
Double Resonance Perfect Absorption in a Dielectric Nanoparticle Array
홍석현,권순홍,이영진,문기환 한국광학회 2017 Current Optics and Photonics Vol.1 No.3
We propose a reflector-type perfect absorber with double absorption lines using electric and magneticdipoles of Mie resonances in an array of silicon nanospheres on a silver substrate. In the visible range, hundreds of nanometer-sized nanospheres show strong absorption lines up to 99%, which are enhancedby the interference between Mie scattering and reflections from the silver substrate. The air gap distancebetween the silicon particles and silver substrate controls this interference, and the absorption wavelengthscan be controlled by adjusting the diameter of the silicon particles over the entire range of visible wavelengths. Additionally, our structure has a filling factor of 0.322 when the absorbance is nearly 100%.
