For this study, a Premixed Charged Compression Ignition (PCCI) Combustion was applied in a Heavy duty Diesel Engine, and has been experimentally investigated from the standpoint of its operating area extension to higher loads and engine performance, such like fuel consumption and emission, improvement. A Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) system was adopted to change the variables of intake and exhaust valve system such like opening, closing timing and valve lift profile. For controlling combustion timing which is a major difficulty for PCCI combustion engine realization, intake vale opening timing was advanced or retarded, and accordingly the effect of Miller cycle was evaluated. As a result, an ideal combustion can be achieved under controlling ignition timing and reducing effective compression ratio by using VVA system.
화상상관법(PIV)을 이용한 비정상 가스분류내의 유동계측

The combustion process in internal combustion engines is dominated by turbulent mixing process between the injected fuel and ambient gas. Therefore, in order to realize the high efficiency and clean combustion, it is necessary to understand the phenomena concerning these turbulent mixing in detail and to use this process effectively. Then, as a fundamental work elucidating the process of mixture formation in turbulent flow field, the transient gas jet was visualized by means of laser light sheet method and the 2-D velocity and vorticity distributions were measured by means of PIV. and then the flow characteristics of the jet were discussed in detail in this study. The experimental results show that the fuel sheared by the frictional drag with surroundings air forms the vortex in the periphery region of the jet, this vortex becomes larger between the jet tip and the upper stream in the vicinity of it, and the fuel concentration is attenuated in the periphery region where large vortex exists.<br/>

본 논문에서는 앞으로 전력시장 다변화 · 다각화 추세에 맞춰 현재 진행 중인 제주-육지간 2차 직류연계 사업뿐만 아니라 다양한 직류송전의 활용에 대비하여 HVDC 해저케이블에 대한 개념 정립 및 현재 운영중인 설비와 건설예정사업에 대한 소개를 통해 이해를 돕고자 한다.
