Background Implant-based breast reconstruction is a technique frequently used for breast reconstruction. Infection and inflammation are considered to be the most troublesome complications of implant-based breast reconstruction and can lead to capsular contracture or implant failure. To date, however, only a few methods have been proposed to prevent these complications. Therefore, the authors introduce a simple irrigation system using indwelling drain catheters to decrease postoperative inflammation. Methods Continuous saline irrigation was performed once per day for 3 days immediately after prosthesis-based breast reconstruction. Normal saline (500 mL) was inserted into the implant pocket through a superomedial-oriented drain catheter and drained through an inferolateral-oriented drain catheter using a suction device. Inflammatory indicators, including C-reactive protein (CRP), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), white blood cell count (WBC), and postoperative complications were compared between the non-irrigation and irrigation groups. Results This study included 37 patients divided into two groups (20 non-irrigation and 17 irrigation). An analysis of inflammatory indicators revealed that the peak CRP level in the irrigation group was significantly lower than that in the non-irrigation group, while no statistically significant differences were found for the other mediators (ESR and WBC). In the immediate postoperative period, continuous irrigation effectively washed out tissue debris and blood clots within the implant pocket, which helped maintain the function of the drain catheter and decrease pro-inflammatory mediators. Conclusions This irrigation method was simple and cost-effective for decreasing inflammation within the breast pocket. Furthermore, it can also be applied to infected breast pockets in combination with antibiotics.

This study analyzes the contents of multicultural education in teacher’s manual for “Age3 – 5 Nuri Curriculum.” The criteria of identity, diversity, openness, democracy, andcommunity were used to investigate 1,470 activities relevant to multicultural education inNuri Curriculum, which was published in March, 2013. The findings were categorized intolife theme, contents area and activity type. In the life theme, multicultural contentsappeared most in ‘my town’ and ‘my country,’ while the least in ‘spring, summer, fall,winter.’ In the contents areas, diversity, identity and community appeared more thandemocracy and openness. And, these contents included social relationships. In the activitytype, multicultural contents are analyzed the most frequently in ‘math activity’ and‘sharing a story.

For the smooth use of artificial intelligence in many domestic industries, it is essentially needed to have the proper communication means for learning and utilization of artificial intelligence. As the artificial intelligence communicates though language in the area of actually contacting human, the researches on language are also important for the development of the artificial intelligence industry. For the smooth language processing between human and machine, it is needed to have the detailed information display of meanings of words or a certain standard of semantic presentation. In order to reflect diverse linguistic phenomena of Korean language community, it is required to consider not only the standard language of South Korea, but also cultural language of North Korea, and Joseon Language of Yanbian, in the aspect of the diversity of language. For the proper learning of artificial intelligence, it should be designated by considering the semantic relations of vocabulary. This thesis discusses the measures for presenting the semantic relations of vocabulary that could have the ambiguity in dataprocessing such as a single form has many aspects in relation to homonym and polysemy. 인공지능이 국내 산업 여러 분야에 원활히 사용되기 위해서 인공지능의 학습 및 활용을 위한 어휘 의미관계 제시 방안에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 인공지능이 실제 인간과 접촉하는 영역에서는 기계와 인간이 자연언어로 의사소통하기 때문에 인공지능 산업의 발전을 위해서는 언어에 대한 연구도 중요하기 때문이다. 즉, 인간과 기계의 원활한 언어 처리를 위해서는 단어의 의미에 대한 상세한 정보 표시나 일정한 의미 제시 기준이 필요하다. 또한, 한국어 공동체의 다양한 언어적 현상을 반영하기 위해서는, 남한의 표준어뿐만 아니라, 북한의 문화어, 연변의 조선어를 모두 고려하는 것이 언어의 다양성 측면에서 요구된다. 이 논문에서는 정보처리에서 중의성을 가진다고 보는 어휘, 즉 한 형태가 동음어와 다의어와 관련하여 여러 양상을 가질 경우의 의미관계 제시 방안을 논의한다.
