        MC3T3-E1 골아세포에서 발효 다시마 추출물에 의한 조골세포 분화의 촉진

        The Laminaria japonica Aresch (Sea tangle) belongs to the brown algae and has a long history as a food material in Asia, including Korea. Recent studies have found that the fermented Sea tangle extract (FST) inhibited the differentiation of osteoclasts and protected osteoblasts from oxidative damage. This study aims to explore the possibility that FST can induce the differentiation of osteoblasts and identify the responsible mechanism. According to our results, FST induced differentiation into osteogenic cells in the presence of osteoblastic MC3T3-E1 cells under non-toxic conditions.. This finding was confirmed by phalloidin staining, increased alkaline phosphatase activity, and calcium deposition. Additionally, it was found that this process was achieved by increasing the expression of key factors involved in osteoblast differentiation, such as runt-related transcription factor-2, osterix, β-catenin, and bone morphogenetic protein-2. Moreover, FST increased autophagy, which may contribute to the maintenance of the bone formation homeostasis, and is associated with the activation of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Akt and mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathways. Although further research about the bioactive substances contained in FST and the tests of their efficacy are required, the results of this study indicate that FST has incredible applicability as a functional material for maintaining the bone homeostasis.

        Changes in consumers’ awareness and interest in cosmetic products during the pandemic

        This research investigates the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on consumers’ per‑ spectives of beauty and individual cosmetic products. Since the frst confrmed case of COVID-19 was announced on December 31st, 2019, the search volumes of Google News have been updated and information on confrmed cases of the disease has been collected. This study used Python 3.7, NodeXL 1.0.1, and Smart PLS 3.0 to analyze con‑ sumer awareness of cosmetic products during the pandemic. The results reveal that consumers’ perspectives of beauty are impacted by a pandemic. Global consumers perceive skincare as an important aspect during the pandemic, while the importance of makeup fell after the outbreak. The awareness of skincare and makeup products has changed. The spread of the pandemic (SOP) has a positive impact on skincare prod‑ ucts, but a negative impact on makeup products, except for eye makeup products, which was positive. Finally, the SOP was not signifcant in terms of consumers’ interest in masks. Fifth, interest in masks showed a positive relationship with interest in skincare products, such as cleansing products, while a negative relationship was observed with interest in makeup products. Overall, this study concludes that pandemics certainly have an impact on global consumers’ perspectives. As a pandemic spread, interest in skincare products increases, while interest in makeup products decreases. This study has academic signifcance in that it investigates the efects of consumption of cosmetic products during the stay-at-home rules. It can be used as standard information for set‑ ting marketing strategies in pandemic-like situations in the future.

        서비스디자인 교육 동향에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 서비스디자인학을 이해하고 국내 서비스디자인 교육의 발전적 모델을 제안하고자 연구하였다. 서비스디자인의 역사를 우선적으로 살펴보고, 서비스디자인 영역의 학계동향을 이해하고자 한다. 서비스디자인의 역사적 공헌자로 가장 먼저 꼽을 수 있는 사람은 쇼스탁(G. Lynn Shostack)이다. 본래 서비스를 디자인 활동은 마케팅이나 경영 분야의 영역의 하나로 여겨졌었다. 하지만 쇼스탁은 1982년에 제품과 같은 물질적인 요소와 서비스와 같은 비물질적인 요소를 하나로 통합화된 디자인을 제안하였다. 쇼스탁의 제안 이후에 서비스디자인에 많은 발전이 이뤄졌으며, 우리의 현실에 적합한 서비스디자자인 교육에 대한 고찰을 하여야 할 시기이다. 서비스디자인교육의 핵심은 현장 산업과 교육의 연계성을 가지고 이뤄져야 한다는 것이 본 연구의 핵심이다. 이렇게 제시한 이유는 서비스디자인을 연구하기 위해서 실재로 제공되는 서비스에 대한 이해와 서비스 제공자, 이용자 사이에서 일어나는 다양한 경험들을 개선해야 하기 때문이다. 그러므로 근본적인 이론적 지식과 더불어 현장실무의 다양한 학습과 경험이 서비스디자인 교육의 핵심이 될 것이기 때문이다. The aim of this study is to understand and propose on the domestic education of service design which research its own specific purposes, and to apply them to the domestic education of service design and domestic service industrial of service design when designers deliver innovative service. For this study, the subjects of the research were chosen to context fields, and an genetic research of them was performed. After the analysis, the subjects of proposal were service design training model for deliver innovative service. They is proposed the Service Design Education in the field of industry and services combined. For this training should be done in parallel on domestic education of service design and service industrial fields. In this study, they can be used as fundamental curriculum to innovative service design and to better understand the service when we proposal curriculum for service industrial fields. This can be useful proposal curriculum enabling undergraduate to understand innovative service easily and to establish concepts for their innovative service designs.

        Inhibitory Effect of Genomic DNA Extracted from Pediococcus acidilactici on Porphyromonas gingivalis Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Inflammatory Responses

        This study aimed to assess whether genomic DNA (gDNA) extracted from Pediococcus acidilactici inhibits Porphyromonas gingivalis lipopolysaccharide (LPS)- induced inflammatory responses in RAW 264.7 cells. Pretreatment with gDNA of P. acidilactici K10 or P. acidilactici HW01 for 15 h effectively inhibited P. gingivalis LPSinduced mRNA expression of interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, and monocyte chemoattractant protein (MCP)-1. Although both gDNAs did not dose-dependently inhibit P. gingivalis LPS-induced mRNA expression of IL-6 and MCP-1, they inhibited IL-1β mRNA expression in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, pretreatment with both gDNAs inhibited the secretion of IL-1β, IL-6, and MCP-1. When RAW 264.7 cells were stimulated with P. gingivalis LPS alone, the phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) was increased. However, the phosphorylation of MAPKs was reduced in the presence of gDNAs. Furthermore, both gDNAs restored IκBα degradation induced by P. gingivalis LPS, indicating that both gDNAs suppressed the activation of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB). In summary, P. acidilactici gDNA could inhibit P. gingivalis LPSinduced inflammatory responses through the suppression of MAPKs and NF-κB, suggesting that P. acidilactici gDNA could be effective in preventing periodontitis.

        아리스토텔레스 『시학(Peri poietikes)』의 설교학적인 적용- 유진 라우리(Eugene Lowry)의 설교학적 플롯(plot)에 대한 비판적 접근

        The purpose of this research is to suggest that the Korean Protestant Church, which has been becoming the focus of criticism, needs homiletical renewal. As a substitute of traditional cognitive-propositional preaching, narrative preaching can cause an experiential event in listeners. Since Eugene Lowry, North American narrative homiletician, proposed “homiletical plot,” many preachers have adopted his way of preaching. Although his theory recognized as revolutionary method, it needs some theoretical supplementation. Aristotle's Poetics can suggest some complementary critiques. His ancient boot about production and technique still has been used as manual in scenario writers for motion picture and in the field of culture and arts. Aristotle's Poetics adds certain points that Lowry's homiletical plot misses. In chapter six (of Poetics), he emphasized the importance of plot which draws 'action.' This implies preaching should composed with solid plot line with action. In chapter eight, he said unification of plot. A good story can be consisted with one plot, and all other elements of story should be connected with main plot. Chapter thirteen shows various components of story should be organized to satisfy audiences. Sermon also contains different aspects of expression and literal expressions, but it needs to be form as main plot without distractions. Further, preaching (which has been) consisted with action centered plot and eliminating personal intention would be required for successful concentration from audiences. 사회의 비판을 받는 한국개신교회의 갱신은 설교의 갱신으로 이루어질 수 있다. 기존의 들리지 않는 설교가 아니라 귀에 들려서 경험을 불러일으키고 나아가 삶으로 행동하게 하는 설교는 내러티브 이론의 도움으로 가능하다. 플롯의 중요성을 강조한 유진 라우리(Eugen Lowry)는 설교학적 플롯(homiletical plot)으로 대변되는 이론을 주장했고 새로운 설교 방법론으로 활용되고 있다. 그러나 여전히 이에 대한 보완이 필요한데 아리스토텔레스의 시학이 적절한 제언을 한다. 일종의 창작에 관한 기술인 그의 『시학』은 영화를 포함한 다양한 분야에 여전히 활용되고 있기에 설교에도 적절한 이론적인 토대를 제공할 수 있다. 그의 『시학』은 라우리의 단일한 이야기 얼개로 설교를 구성하는 이론을 보강하는데 6장은 행동을 추동하는 설교 플롯의 가능성을 제시한다. 설교에 적용하면 일관된행동을 플롯의 핵심으로 삼으라는 점을 들 수 있다. 8장은 플롯이 갖는 통일성에 대해서 말한다. 이야기의 긴밀한 통일성을 위해서 플롯의 핵심을 이룰 수 있는 것만 취해져야 한다. 설교에 있어서 핵심적인 하나의 이야기를 중심으로 전개하는 것의 중요성을 강조한다. 13장은 단순하면서도 다양한 요소들이 유기적으로 연결되어야 심미적인 만족을 충족시킬 수 있음을 보여준다. 설교에서도 흥미를 유발하기 위하여 여러 가지요소들이 복합적으로 작용해야 하는데 동시에 산만하지 않아야 함을 알게 한다. 나아가이야기를 행동 중심으로 구성하라는 것과 개인적인 관심을 배제하라는 것은 경험을불러일으키는 효과적인 설교를 위한 조언이 될 수 있다.

        창의적 설교에서 상상력의 의미와 역할

        The practice of preaching holds a great significance when it comes to the Korean Protestant Church. However, recent criticism has demanded a renewal of the Church, thus an improvement of communication of preaching is needed, for both members of the church, and for those outside the church. Korean Protestant preachers have tried to creatively imagine a better way to communicate towards their listeners, but their attempts have so far been conceived to be a witty expression or a cheap humor. Yet, the power of creativity and imagination still has potential to overcome the reality of life, where as human beings, we have utilized such power of creativity with imagination to try and answer the mysteries of life. Before science and technology answered many mysteries of life with their answers, in the beginning it was ancient mythology that offered people answers to unknown phenomena by using the power of creative imagination. Because of this, we humans still use imagination as a way of excuse for pursuing our certain desires and ambitions. Mythology(myuhos) and reason(logos) are co-existent when it comes to searching for truth, imagination cannot be removed from reality and vice versa. Vygotsky’s research shows that aesthetic emotion is essential for the human mind, that the higher functions of the human mind can be formed by broad social context and communication. Aesthetic emotions can, therefore, be able to pull up the unconsciousness of the human mind towards the surface of our consciousness. Imagination triggers creativity and various social contexts, having humans form broad and deep relationships. Because of this, it can be said that imagination and creativity cannot be monopolized by special or talented people. Vygotsky emphasized how our experiences and our co-operation with others work together. Hence, preachers must pay attention to Vygotsky’s theory of imagination and creativity which can be developed by communal efforts and emotions. To understand congregation and biblical text, preachers should communicate not only people within the church, but also with people outside the church to experience the variety of ways of such imagination and creativity. Imagination and creativity are the answers of how the Korean Protestant Church as a whole, can start to invite people to give their preaching a listen, by communication and co-operation preacher and listeners. 설교는 한국 개신교회에서 차지하는 비중이 매우 크다. 교회가 비판에 직면한 요즘 설교를 통해서 자신의 회중뿐만 아니라 사회와 일반 대중과 호흡할 수 있어야 한다. 설교자 나름대로 귀에 들리는 설교를 위해서 창의적이고 상상력이 가미된 설교를 시도하지만 재미있게 설교하려는 노력에 그치는 경우가 많다고 하겠다. 그러나 상상력은 현실을 파괴하는 힘을 가지고 있다. 현실 너머의 것을 표현하기 위해서 인류는 상상력을 활용했다. 과학 이전에 나름대로 합리적인 사고를 위해서 상상력을 통한 신화를 활용하기도 했다. 지금도 상상력은 인간의 욕망과 결합해 신화를 고집하고 있다. 신화, 즉 뮈토스와 이성인 로고스는 진리를 추구하는 방법과 연관이 있다. 상상력은 어느 경우에도 현실과 유리되지 않는다. 상상력의 결과는 허구의 삶에 진리를 불러올 수 있어야 한다. 비고츠키는 인간의 아름다움에 대한 감정이 매우 중요함을 밝혔다. 상상력은 현실과 유리될 수 없는데 다양한 교류를 통해서 잠재의식을 형성하고 심미적인 접근이 이를 드러낸다. 상상력은 창의적인 심상을 만드는데 현실에 근거하면 할수록 더욱 깊이 현실을 이해하게 된다. 결국 상상력과 창의력은 특정한 소수의 사람이 독점하는 개별적 능력이라기보다 공동의 경험이 일상적으로 드러나는 것이다. 설교자는 상상력과 창의성이 갖는 이러한 경험의 축적과 감정을 통한 개발에 주목해야 한다. 성경이라는 텍스트와 청중이라는 텍스트를 읽기 위해서도 다양한 사람들과 교류해야 하고 이를 통한 깊은 경험이 필요하다. 상상력과 창의성은 협업과 소통의 방식으로 교회의 설교를 보다 많은 이들이 들을 가치가 있게 만들 것이다.

        An Analysis of Listeners’Cultural Characteristics and Communication Styles for the Korean Preaching

        Every individual has been under the influence of social, cultural and psychological background, when he or she listens to preaching. It is the reason why Korean preachers have to analyze their Korean congregations, who share many same cultural characteristics. Some psychologists and scholars, like Richard Nisbett, Peter Anderson and the Hofstedes, have done researches of comparison between cultures. The research results distinguish the Koreans are more like communal than individual and tend to form solidarity characteristics. These cultural and socio-psychological preferences have made Korean listeners feel safe and comfortable when they belong to a group and multiple relationships. The Korean congregation also used to identify the substances of something and recognize destinies as being not in control, whereas Westerners identify objects by their shape and the future as being more in control. The other specific perceptual tendencies indicate Koreans language highly contextual. The immediate homiletical implications for Korean preaching from these experimental observation are: Korean congregations rarely engage argument or debate, easily endow authority to preacher, perceive their church as network of people like another family, tend to relate events, use highly contextual language, and prefer using experience more than logical principles. In this regard, preaching that evokes listeners’ experience, connect individuals with others so that get tied as a solid group, and made of narrative type of delivery will be more efficient. To apply above approaches into Korean preaching in order to equip Korean preachers, verbal and nonberval communication methods needed to be explored. Nonverbal communications are related to emotions, and both influence listeners for positive feelings and enable them participate what preacher says. The Koreans’ communal characteristics take an important role in this process. As Geert Hofstede’s work shows, Korean listeners are a collective group of people, and have avoidance of showing themselves and uncertainty at the same time. This collectivistic “we-ness” is powerful among Korean people as symbols of intimacy, closeness, acceptance, etc. Korean preachers clearly benefit from collective characteristics of Korean congregation because Christian churches have been a community since the beginning of Christianity. To build up church as a community Korean preacher should consider verbal communication: narrative preaching and storytelling form human beings into close groups and can build trust between speaker and listeners. Preacher in this respect re-tell some biblical and traditional stories, along with develop their storytelling skill by learning styles and forms. Then emotional speaking can be next step to make listeners get involved. An eschatological vision also can be evoked by storytelling. In case of nonverbal ways of communication, identification should be counted as one of the main goals of preaching. Nonverbal communication such as gesture, tonality, or attitudes can create identification with the object they hear among congregation, and its achieving starts to build community. The preacher’s good character should be expressed by proper emotional express and nonverbal communication establishes trust between preacher and congregation.
