1,5-Dihydroxynaphthalene을 출발물질로 하여 methylation, bromination, methoxylation, formylation 반응을 통하여 2-formyl-1,4,5,8-tetramethoxynaphthalene을 40%의 수율로 만들었다. 이민 화합물 6은 2-formyl-1,4,5,8-tetramethoxynaphthalene 과 2-aminoanthraquinone의 축합반응을 통하여 만들었으 며, 이 화합물을 LiAlH4로 이민 결합을 환원시킨 후 CAN으로 산화시켜 6-(((5,8-dimethoxy-1, 4-dioxo-1,4-dihydronaphthalen-2-yl)methyl)amino)anthracene-9,10-dione을 합성하였다. HCT116 세포의 apoptosis를 분석하기 위하여 고정된 핵에서 sub-G1 DNA의 양을 측정하였다. DMSO를 대조군으 로 하여 20 μM과 40μM의 농도로 실험하였을 경우 DMSO의 경우 sub-G1의 비율이 8% 정도인 것에 비하 여 compound 7의 경우는 sub-G1의 비율이 화합물의 농도가 20 μM의 경우 17%, 40 μM의 경우는 19% 로 크게 증가함을 보였다. 또한 40 μM의 화합물 (7)로 처리한 세포의 경우 형태가 변화한 것을 볼 수 있었 으며 24시간이 지난 후 관찰 되는 세포의 수가 현저하게 줄어든 것을 알 수 있었다.

Environmental enrichment is the process of providing stimulating environments for zoo animals in order for them to demonstrate their species-typical behavior, to allow them exercise control or choice over their environment, and to enhance their well-being. We are aimed to provide the available knowledges about the animal enrichment programs for zoo animals through literature review. As the results, we reviewed the design of stimulating and naturalistic enclosures, the housing etc. Enrichment includes the design of stimulating and naturalistic enclosures, the housing of appropriate social groups in zoo, and the introduction of objects, sounds, smells or other stimuli in the animal’s environment. Conclusionally, environmental enrichment is just as critical to Zoo animal welfare as nutrition and veterinary medicine. At the zoos, enrichment will be an integral part of the daily care of the species in the collection.
반복겹침 접합압연으로 제조된 A1100 알루미늄합금 판재의 기계적 특성

In this study, the microstructure and mechanical properties of A1100 aluminum alloy sheets manufactured by the Accumulative Roll Bonding(ARB) process were investigated. Hot rolled A1100 sheets were highly strained up to a true strain of 6.32 at room temperature by the ARB process. These sheets were recrystallized at the temperature range of 150℃ to 400℃ for 1hr. The ARB process was repeated up to 6 cycles and well bonded sheets were obtained successfully. The hardness and tensile strength of 6th ARBed specimen(true strain : 6.32) are three times higher than those of a hot rolled sheet. After recrystallization treatment at 200℃, the specimen has ultra-fine grain structures with grain size of less than 1 ㎛. In case of annealing at 300℃ for 1hr., the microstructures of the specimens consist of fully recrystallized grain structure with the grain size less than 7 ㎛.
고주파수 난청 환자에서 보청기의 비선형 주파수 압축 기술의 임상적 초기 경험

Background and Objectives Consonants are uttered in the high frequency range in speech to bring out understanding of our language. As consonants convey most of the word information, listeners with high-frequency hearing loss find it hard to understand speech. Non-linear frequency compression (NLFC) technology compresses and moves higher frequencies into a lower frequency region where better residual hearing is present. The purpose of this study was to evaluate clinical effectiveness of NLFC technology in patients with high-frequency hearing loss. Subjects and Method Twelve ears representing patients with sloping, high-frequency sensorineural hearing loss were involved in this study. Pure-tone audiometry and Threshold Equalizing Noise Test were conducted initially in all subjects. The subjects were tested in the counter-balanced order, and had two months of everyday experience with NLFC on/off before testing took place. A resting period intervened the two phases. Performance was repeatedly evaluated with Sound Field Audiometry, Word Recognition Score, Reception Threshold for Sentences and Korean version of International Outcome Inventory for Hearing Aids. Results Cochlear dead region was detected on 4 kHz of both ears in only one subject. Each subject showed diverse performance and satisfaction with active NLFC condition. Typically, audibility of high-frequency pure-tones improved with NLFC-on condition. However, speech perception both in quiet and noise was not much improved when compared with NLFC-off condition. Conclusion The NLFC technology could improve audibility in high-frequency, but failed to demonstrate benefits regarding speech perception. Further research is needed to validate the effectiveness of the NLFC technology especially in terms of speech intelligibility. Korean J Otorhinolaryngol-Head Neck Surg 2016;59(2):96-103
