The purpose of this study was to identify current collective bargaining issues facing the Korea professional baseball and, further, to examine these same issues in Major League Baseball (MLB). In order to help the Korea professional baseball plan for the future, this study was designed to forecast future collective bargaining issues for the Korea professional baseball, particularly those that may prove important during the next decade. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, three research questions were formulated and tested by the Delphi technique. In conducting the Delphi technique, a survey questionnaire was used as the instrument. Thirty-seven experts, selected by a nominating procedure, responded to the questions. Over the two rounds, the collected data were analyzed by both median and interquartile range to determine the consensus of expert opinion. This study found that Korean experts perceived the period of free agency, players’ equipment, both medical and rehabilitation service, need of players association, player’s agent system, fairly sharing of profits for the players activities, teams’ requirement to buy disability insurance for players, and players’ requirement to buy disability insurance for themselves as the most important labor management issues. Most of the experts expected that the various collective bargaining issues of MLB will eventually appear in the bargaining agenda between players and owners of the Korea professional baseball. It was found that the issues believed most important for the near future were annual salary, pensions benefits, minimum salary, and arbitration. Given that these issues were dealt with by the MLB in the 1970’s, this finding was considered evidence that the labor-management relations of the Korea professional baseball are about thirty years behind those of the MLB. This finding suggests, therefore, that the forecasts of the experts related primarily to issues that were important at an earlier period for MLB. This finding provided supporting evidence for the importance of this study, in which the collective bargaining process of MLB can be exemplified as a guideline for the collective bargaining process of Korea professional baseball. If the path of the collective bargaining process of the Korea professional baseball more-or-less follows the path of that of MLB, one can reasonably predict the next set of bargaining issues of the Korea professional baseball by examining the history and strategies of bargaining issues that appeared in MLB.

The purpose of this study was to predict what types of legal issues on sport in Korea would be raised as an important problem and should be more studied for the future. For the purpose of this study, precedents related to sport and trend of legal study on sport in Korea were examined. In addition, the trend of researches in the United States on legal issues related to sport, which is significantly ahead of Korea with respect to the quality and quantity of the researches on sport law, was analyzed. By analyzing precedents about Korean sport and research trends of sport law for both Korea and the United States, this study founded that the following legal issues in relation to the sport will be important in the future Korean sport community First, constitutional and statutory issues are likely to be critical. This was proved by precedents analysis for the Korean sport and the comparison between the research trends in the Korean and American sport law. Second, discussion about tort law in the sport, which is a private or civil wrong or injury resulting from a breach of a legal duty that exists by virtue of society's expectations regarding interpersonal conduct, rather than by contract or other private relationship, will be appeared as a very important issue. This is because, as one can see in the precedent analysis, legal disputes concerning tort have been increasing significantly and are very likely to appear in the sport filed. It is necessary, therefore, to conduct researches more aggressively on tort in sport. Third, antitrust law, which is a statute aiming at promoting free competition in the marketplace, is also expected to be an important issue in the Korean sport community. The examples of expected antitrust issue in professional sport are as follows: reserve system, trade system, free agent, and salary limitation. Lastly, the issues on intellectual property involving in the patent, licensing logos, trademark, and copyright may be more frequently raised in the field of sport marketing and more interests and attentions of the field of the Korean sport law are likely to be paid to them.

The primary purpose of this study was to identify how perceived organizational support, which is positively related to organizational effectiveness, would be determined. Specifically, this study was to examine the relationships between perceived organizational support and distributive justice or procedural justice through an intensive literature review. In addition, the moderating effect of perceived politics was investigated on the relationships between these variables. A total of 521 usable data were collected in ski resorts. SPSS 13.0 and LISREL 8.7 were used for the data analysis. The results indicated that only procedural justice positively influenced perceived organizational support. In addition, a high group of perceived politics showed the stronger effect of procedural justice on perceived organizational support, while a low group of perceived politics had the stronger influence of distributive justice on perceived organizational support. Therefore, managers in ski resorts should establish the different strategics for human resource management based on the level of perceived politics.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual condition of athletes' experiences on physical violence and suggest alternatives to eradicate physical violence in sports. To achieve this purpose, all athletes except professionals, coaches, athlete's parents were targeted and finally a total of 2,041 respondents(1, 734 athletes, 202 coaches, 105 parents) were selected to conduct this study. The gathered data were examined by frequency analysis using SPSS(Version 17.0). The main topics of this study were as follows. Firstly, this study identified the actual condition of physical violence among athletes based on the comparison of past and recent experiences. Secondly, this study reviewed the causes of athletes' experiences on physical violence through analyzing the perception and attitude of athletes, coaches and parents. Finally, it proposed some suggestions to solve the physical violence in sports. Physical violence in sports is a complicated issue that combines various elements, such as personal characteristics, homes, school, and the local community. Therefore, it is important that solutions for the prevention of violence must be multifaceted, including all stakeholders.
