      • CAD/CAM Zirconia All Ceramic Restoration and Red-White Esthetics

        For the prosthodontic results which are compatible with esthetics to be fulfilled, the first prerequisite would be periodontal intervention and stability, the second one may be functional competency and the ultimate goal should be ascribed to esthetic considerations. Other words, esthetic dentistry is a whole entity which encompasses the biological stability of the periodontium, physical accuracy of the prosthodontic structure and finally, the beauty which can be found in natural dentition. It also implies the harmonized lip line which reveals the well-balanced tooth morphology and health gum profiles (Red-White Esthetics). Largely, there lie some differences in the input system of the 3-dimentional data from the prepared abutments between respective computer-assisted systems available now. But the manufacturing systems (CAM) are very similar between them, to say, comprise numeric control systems with whole 3-dimensional milling units according to the restorations to be made. Now the author is going to present CAD/CAM Zirconia All Ceramic Restoration on the topics for the Red-White Esthetics, periodontal control and maintenance, treatment for the discolored teeth, post & core build-up works for the devitalized teeth, characteristics of the Zirconium oxide All Ceramics, fabrication procedures, clinical considerations and its application to diverse clinical situations.

      • ROS 17/2.8 세포배양에서 골기질 형성 및 석회화와 관련되는 SPARC, bone sialoprotein, osteopontin 및 alkaline phosphatase의 특성에 관한 연구

        To determine the role of noncollagenous proteins and alkaline phosphatase during matrix formation and mineralization, the biosynthesis of secreted protein acidic and rich in cysteine (SPARC), bone sialoprotein (BSP) and osteopontin (OP), Northern blot analysis of SPARC and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) mRNAs and the specific activity of ALP were studied in cultures of clonal osteoblastic rat osteosarcoma ROS 17/2.8 cells. First, at the culture conditions of confluence, matrix formation and minerlization, ['S-methionine-labelled proteins were specifically immunoprecipitated with antibodies to SPARC, BSP and OP and analysed by SDS/PAGE on 15% cross-linked mini-gels under reducing conditions. The expression of SPARC and ALP mRNAs was estimated by Northern blot analysis and the ALP specific activity (pmol/min/106 cells) was measured by the methods of Lowry et al.'' and Majeska andRodan.''' Second, to determine the inductive effects of dexamethasone (Dex) on the expression of SPARC and ALP mRNAs and the ALP specific activity in mineralizing culture, the confluent cultures of ROS 17/2.8 cells were incubated for 0, 4, 7, and 14 days in contral group [ascorbic acid (AA), J3-glycerophosphate (/3-GP)] and Dex group (AA, /3-GP and Dex). Analysis of mRNA by Northern hybridization using the SPARC and ALP cDNA probes was performed and the ALP specific activity was measured and analysed by spectra-photometry. The results were as follows. 1. ROS 17/2.8 cells incubated in the culture condition for matrix formation exhibited multilayers and in the culture condition for mineralization they indicated many foci-like cell aggregates (bone nodules). 2. SPARC was abundant in culture medium and cell extract, but not detected in E extract of the culture condition for mineralization. BSP was present only in cell extract and OP in medium and cell extract. 3. The strongest band of SPARC was revealed in medium of the culture condition for mineralization. In BSP, it was present in cell extract of the culture condition for confluence, and in OP, it was in medium of the culture condition for matrix formation. 4. Northern blot analysis revealed that levels of SPARC mRNA the in culture conditions for matrix forma_ Lion and mineralization comparing with those in culture condition for confluence were shown to be increased by 2.1-and 31-fold, respectively. However, levels of ALP mRNA were increased markedly only in the culture condition for mineralization. 5. In mineralizing culture, Northern hybridization analysis showed a strong induction of SPARC and ALP mRNAs in Dex-treated condition. Especially, maximum effects of Dex were indicated at 7days in both SPARC and ALP mRNAs. 6. ALP specific activites in the culture condition for matrix formation and mineralization comparing with those in the culture condition for confluenece were increased by 1.8-and 3.5-fold, respectively. In Dextreated culture, ALP specific activities at 4, 7 and 14 days were increased by 4.5-, 3.5- and 2.6-fold, respectively, but cell proliferation was shown to be inhibited.

        The movements of oral surrounding muscles, lips, and tongue play a very important role while masticating, swallowing, and speaking. In case of the edentulous patient wearing dentures as well, every movement of the tongue can be seen almost the same as that of the dentulous jaw. The crushed food during mastication is swallowed and sent to pharynx. At this course, the contact of the posterior portion of tongue with dentures affects the stabilization of denture. The retention and stability of the complete dentures are related with buccinator muscles of buccal parts, lips in front, and tongue of the lingual sides. Strack(1946) insisted that the arrangement of artificial teeth in the same place as that of the natural dentition is the best way to maintain the stability of denture. In this report, I would like to introduce the several advantages of a new impression method taken simultaneously, and its procedures and clinical cases.

        재난관리기관간 협력체계구축을 위한 영역별 상대적 중요도 분석

        우리나라의 경우 1990년대 중반이후 재난관리에 국가적 차원에서 법과 제도를 제ㆍ개정하면서 지속적인 노력을 기울임에도 불구하고, 유사한 사건사고가 발생하면 재난관리에 실패를 하고 또 다시 문제점과 한계를 드러내고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 재난관리의 효과성 향상을 위해 다양한 재난관리 참여기관들이 협력체계를 구축하기 위해서는 무엇이 우선시 되어야 하는가를 전문가를 대상으로 하여 실증연구를 실시하고자 하였다. 결과적으로, 재난관리 전문가(중앙ㆍ지방정부, 학계/연구소, 군, 경찰, 소방)를 대상으로 실시한 참여기관의 협력요인간 상대적 중요도 및 우선순위를 분석한 결과, 조직화→의사소통 및 의사결정→조정 메커니즘→계획→협력 조직문화의 순으로 중요도가 나타났으며, 또한 재난관리 참여기관 협력체계 구축을 위한 요인간 중요도 및 우선순위에 대한 복합가중치를 보면, 지식 및 정보 공유→ 협력 기구 마련→통합 지휘체계 마련→정기회의 및 결정→협력 운영절차 마련순으로 중요도가 측정되었다. 이는 재난관리 참여기관간 협력체계를 구축하기 위하여 협력 기구 및 운영 절차 등 관련규정과 제도 등을 정비하고 참여기관 간 재난정보 등을 공유하는 활동이 중요하다. 또한 초기 재난발생시 효과적인 대응을 위하여 통합지휘체계를 마련함으로서 일사불란한 재난관리 활동이 요구된다. This study examines the relative importance and priority of the policy area and policy variables in the field of the Cooperative factors of Agencies in Disaster Management by using analytic hierarchy process(AHP). According to the results of surveying disaster management specialists (central-local governments, universities/research institutes, army, police, fire service) on the relative importance and priority of factors related to cooperation among participating institutions, importance was high in order of organization → communication and decision making→ coordination mechanism → planning → cooperative organizational culture. In addition, the combined weight of the importance and priority of factors for building a cooperation system among institutions participating in disaster management was high in order of knowledge and information sharing→ establishment of a cooperation organization → establishment of an integrated command system → regular meetings and decision making → establishment of cooperative operation procedures. That is, in order to build a cooperation system among institutions participating in disaster management, it is important to improve relevant laws and systems including the cooperation organization and operation procedures and to share information on disasters among the participating institutions. Furthermore, it is required to execute well-organized disaster management activities by establishing an integrated command system for early and effective coping with disasters.

        흑질(Substantia nigra)이 하악운동과 저작근 활성도에 미치는 영향

        Various patterns of the mandibular movement were induced by repetitive electrical stimulation of the cerebral cortex and subcortical structures in the rabbit. Substantia nigra(SN) was important on motor function related to the execution of jaw movements, but the role of SN has been controversial. This experiment was performed to clarify the modulatory effect of SN on mastication. The experimental animals were anesthetized with urethane and tracheal cannula was inserted. Wire electrodes were inserted into both masseter muscles and anterior belly of digastric muscles for recording of EMGs. The head was placed to stereotaxic apparatus and bipolar electrode was fixed to the right cortical jaw motor area and SN, and threshold intensity was determined. In some experiments, SN was destructed by lesion generator or the brain was decerbrated. The jaw movement was evoked by electrical stimulation of cortex, SN or both simultaneously and recorded by using photo - sensitive detector. All patterns of jaw movements and EMGs activity were recorded with maignetic tape recorder and compared before and after destruction of the SN or decerebration. The cortical stimulation produced prominent vertical and lateral movement. But the cortically-induced mastication was decreased by destruction of SN. The SN stimulation in normal rabbit mainly produced vertical movement. In decerebrated animal, however, vertical and lateral movements evoked by SN stimulation were markedly changed and masseter and digastric EMGs were reduced, especially, masseter EMGS showed tonic activity. Simultaneous stimulation of cerebral cortex and SN with subthreshold intensity could induce masticatory movements. At simultaneous stimulation of cerebral cortex and SN with subthreshold and theshold intensity, the pattern of jaw movenment depended upon higher intensity.

        Insulin-like Growth Factor가 치주인대세포의 증식에 미치는 효과에 관한 연구

        Insulin-like Growth Factor(IGF-I) has the potent chemotactic and proliferative effect on preosteoblasts and hematocytes. There were many researches on bone cells, but now there are insufficient data of the effect of IGF-I on the periodontal ligament(PDL) cells. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of IGF-I on the PDL cells. Human PDL cells were prepared from the first premolar tooth extracted for the orthodontic treatment and were cultured in DMEM/10% FBS at a CO_2 incubator(37℃). The concentrations of IGF-I were as follows: 3ng/㎖, 6ng/㎖, 12ng/㎖, 25ng/㎖, 50ng/㎖, 100ng/㎖ and 150ng/㎖. In the IGF-I group, cell numbers were estimated by counting cells under the microscope at 2 days after. Protein determination was made by the method of Lowry et al. The observed results were as follows: 1. The IGF-I group showed the concentration-dependent increase of cell numbers at 2 days after. IGF-I stimulated significantly PDL mitosis at all concentrations. 2. The maximum effect of PDL proliferation was observed at the concentration of 25ng/㎖ IGF-I. Its effect was about twofold than that of the control group. At that concentration, cell numbers were(12.28±1.10)×10^4cell/㎖ 3. Protein contents of PDL cells was increased in all experimental groups and the degree of increase in protein contents was highest at concentration of 25ng/㎖ IGF-I

        대규모 전력계통의 부하역률 대표모델 산정을 위한 데이터베이스 구축

        The importance of the Load Power Factor(LPF) management is newly noticed from the voltage management and operation of the power system due to the rapidly increasing reactive power consumed. Therefore, this paper proposes the regional, seasonal and hourly Representative Model of Load Power Factor(RMLPF) considering load characteristics of all 154/22.9[kV] substations. The RMLPF is used to present a precision improvement of power system analysis and security. Computation of representative model of load utilizes the average flow method based on moving average method. The Energy Management System(EMS) data are used as the source to assess the load power factor. 최근 전력계통의 대형화와 중조류 설비의 증가 등으로 계통내부에서 소모되는 무효전력 급증에 따라 계통전압관리차원에서 부하역률 관리의 중요성이 새롭게 대두되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 최소자승법(Least Square Method)을 이용하여 변압기 무효전력 손실량을 산출하였으며, 유량평균법(Average Flow Method)을 사용하여 부하특성에 따른 지역별, 계절별, 시간대별 부하역률 대표모델을 수립하였다.
